Hi all,

Okay, here a new round of power line filter testing, with some new
additions and the elimination of filters that made no difference.

Noise Harvester = PS Audio Noise Harvester (parallel filter)
Isobar New = Tripp Lite Isobar new version
Isobar Old = Tripp Lite Isobar old version, -75db outlet
Brickwall = Brick Wall Surge Suppressor
Stetzer = reading on the Stetzer meter
Entech = reading on the Entech meter

Oh, and don't get the impression that the Stetzer readings
are usually so high in my house. Usually, they are less
than 50. Maybe that's because I usually have all these
fancy power strips deployed throughout the house... :-)

from these meters, at least. It is also a "tolerable" product
from my point of view, while the Stetzer filter (not tested,
as I no longer have any) and Blue Circle are not.

Note also that the Furman PST-10D has both "analog" and "digital"
filtered outlets, and my test results were for the analog
outlets. The readings on the digital outlets were actually
a bit worse.

Are the digital outlets for DVD Players? They make the PST-8 without the digital filters.

I think the digital outlets are so your digital components (HDTV) don't
interfere with your analog components (old-fashioned amp).

ah, so I guess its good to get the D Models for an entertainment center Although for the computer it wouldn't be necessary

Yes, after doing those tests, I've convinced myself that I need a
Furman PST-8 for my workplace. :-)

My home computer is hooked up to a Furman PST-8D, and
then I have a Quantum Power Strip running off of that
to connect my computer monitor to.

My work computer is just hooked up to a Quantum Power
strip, and I have some other Quantum hardware
(Quantum Pro, Quantum Monitor) as well. But since
I'm not making good use of some of these other
filters, I should try them out at work. Especially
since my current work location is worse EMF-wise
than in previous years...

The monitor is connected to the Quantum, which is connected
to the Furman. So in a way, it *is* connected to the Furman.
Besides, like I've said before, the Quantums are the things
that have made the most difference in my symptoms, even
though they don't look that great meter-wise. I actually
never thought the Furman really helped -- just that it
didn't make things worse, like many power strips.

gotcha.
I haven't noticed any health benefits to the quantum strip/outlets. In facti have been feeling quite lousy lately but I'm sure its unrelated.

Actually, if I go back to when I first started using the Quantum stuff,
the pattern was this:

-- felt unusually good the first day
-- felt like crap for the next several days

The feeling like crap is detox.

If you think that is happening to you, and the Quantum stuff is the
cause, just cut back. But maybe you're feeling lousy for other
reasons.

Re: Filter comparison II

That pretty much sums up how it went.
If it'll go away (assuming this is the cause) I'll just power through it because I don't want to start unplugging everything again.

You may recall that I mentioned something about my not using more than two
Quantum power strips at a time in the same house? There was a reason for
that -- it was more than I could handle.

Now, 9 years later, I could probably handle all sorts of Quantum power
strips in the house, and not notice a thing. But not originally.

Re: Filter comparison II

I guess that would apply to the quantum outlets also? I guess I can stop using the one s with my TV and Computer since I already have surge suppressors there and the meter reading wasn't so bad.
I'll keep the strip in my bedroom and the outlet for the fridge since thosewere the worst offenders and see how i feel.
Thanks for the tip.
