Hi, R,
I never took the "Seacure" you mention, but I also overcame most of my foodintolerances (except glutens and sugars). At one time, I could eat only 5 foods without major gastric/other problems. I used (large doses of) quercitin also to achieve this. I was also on Omega 3-6-9 and other supplements at the time. (Fish oils and fatty acids, but not anything specifically for amino acids.) Seacure is hydrolyzed (fermented, or predigested) white fish; super absorbed by the body, and contains amino acids that can help heal the gut lining. There are a lot of good reports on it. Lots of people with MCS and ES seem to have problems with one or more of the Phase II pathways being missing or broken. But problems with Phase I could give similar symptoms. It might be worth trying giving up grapefruit for a period and see what effect it has. Of course, you might feel worse for a time if the detox which had previously been inhibited starts going. But if it then helps to clear some accumulated grot out of your system it could be very useful! Sue's MCS and ES have got a lot better by treating the Phase II pathways (and gut disease), but in conjunction with this she avoids grapefruit completely. As Marc mentions, some drugs are detoxified by Phase I and have specific warnings on the packet "do not take with grapefruit". I recommend only getting the packets, 2 caps wrapped individually because the bottles just smell really bad! I get mine from iherb.com --- On Mon, 4/12/10, R. Ticle <[hidden email]> wrote: > From: R. Yo GHC,
I'm glad to hear the quercetin helped. As with other people, I'm sureI'd be worse off yet had I not discovered I don't tolerate gluten, and cutit out. I'm still off all grains, beans, dairy (except butter), and seeds. I can tolerate nuts more now (though no peanuts!), but too many can make me itch or give me a headache. I might try a couple of duck eggs later today or tomorrow, haven't eaten eggs in weeks, though have heard that ones from ducks are better tolerated than chicken eggs. Ha! Same place I got mine; they do have quite good prices on some things, even though I'm in Canada, it's still often cheaper than going to a local store, if getting enough items at once. I got mine in packets as well -bit wasteful packaging, but the reviews warned of the smell from the bottle. Take care,
