I can't say that I noticed much difference from moving from a metal bedframe to a wood frame. However, I noticed a BIG improvement when going from a metal-innerspring mattress to a latex mattress. Unfortunately, my wife HATED the latex mattress (back pains, too hot, etc.), so we switched back. Neither of us considered the futons we've tried to be comfortable. Memory foam still has the heat problem. I think that just leaves air mattresses (Select Number, Comfort Air), or getting a king size frame and two separate twin XL mattresses side-by-side (her side=innerspring, my side=latex). I'm currently experimenting with latex toppers and grounding sheets, but so far nothing is as good as sleeping without the innersprings. Marc |

Marc, thanks for breaking it all down for me. All makes sense. First thing, see a dentist.

I can relate -- I love technology, and spend a huge amount of time on the computer, and have so since the 1980s. You'll just need to make some alterations to make your symptoms more tolerable. > My house is a breeding ground I’m sure. I have 2 plasma TV’s, 50 and 60 > inch. I have several computers, home wireless phones, wifi throughout the > house. Yikes... I can't stand being near plasma TVs, so have had to limit myself to LCD. Wireless phones should be replaced with wired phones, wi-fi should be replaced with ethernet cables. Also, dimmer switches should be replaced with regular on/off switches (or at least high-quality shielded dimmer switches), and compact fluorescent lights should be replaced by incandescents or LED. And you're right, it's probably not just the smart meter that's bothering you, but all of the various exposures you've got going on 24/7. Eliminating/reducing the exposures you have direct control over will help you cope with the exposures you have no control over. Marc [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

I think the best thing about it all is the fact that people on here think outside the box. I’ve been seeing Dr. after Dr. to find out what’s going on for a year now. Asking why have I developed this hissing/buzzing and they all do the same thing. Basic test after basic test that shows nothing. A years worth of wasted time and plenty of money. Not to mention, my problem has only gotten worse since it started and the Dr’s I’ve seen never finish their work. No Follow-up. Like Duh, it hasn’t gone away you fool. If this were a computer or car repair or some other type of needed diagnosis people wouldn’t put up with paying out money for no results or follow-up. I’ve truly found one thing they all him in common. They are skeptical and will never think outside the box. Look at me like I’m nuts too. It’s always the ear test, Brain MRI, blood work. But can it be EMF? Is there a possibility? My dad even calls it witchcraft the other day. People always want proof.
Mark my word, I can see where this is going. As more and more companies flood the country with tower after tower of 3G & 4G and business and homes install more wifi & WiMAX, and companies install wireless devices for everything we do, those that today can’t feel the effects will start to get sick. It’s just gonna take a few a little more that’s all. I’m sorry to all for flooding this forum with all my questions and comments but if you can’t tell I am persistent. I have to find a cure. I want my life back. This is real. Thanks to all for listening and to the few for answering. It does help a lot. > They are skeptical and will never think outside the box. Look at me like
> I’m nuts too. Ahhh, well you're going to the wrong type of doctors. Medical doctors will be skeptical, but alternative-type doctors won't necessarily be. As in Naturopaths, Homeopaths, Chiropracters, Acupunturists, etc. My current "doctor" only has a degree in chiropractic, but practices currently as a "clinical nutritionist". She has several EMF sensitive patients, and actually listens to me for advice to give to her other patients. Unfortunately, although alternative doctors may believe you, they may not actually be able to do much to make you better (although if they take a close look at heavy metal toxicity, parasites, or adrenal/liver problems, they are probably getting close to the problem). And they're not good for being covered under insurance plans. And there are a few folks who have reported being cured from their EMF sensitivity. Typically the cure is attributed to heavy metal detox, which can be a very tricky/difficult/lengthy process for sensitive people. Marc |

Its going to tough for me because I also have chemical allergies and beds can be a big problem. latex would bother me and so would the other choices most likely. An organic futon would probably be the best chemical wise but not sure about comfort. I'm going to look around.

At the moment I'm reading a book about EMF and somewhere the question
was asked when governments will take the problem seriously and take action. The answer was "when the bodies are piling up in the streets". That might be a bit exaggerated, but I think it's close. Too many diseases and physical problems can be attributed to other causes and that's what everyone does so far. It will take a long time and many sick and even dead people before EMF is accepted as very unhealthy and the cause of all the trouble. Rixta >> What's going to happen to our kids? Latex but Talilay, not the cheaper Dunlop process. But my wife's back
doesn't like it either. I know one person who raved about the Ex-static material for over the matress. With that the electric field should only be at the very edges of the bed, whether you have coils or not (Though the steel coils could still attract magnetic fields). I wonder if there are any made with less magnetic coils, like stainless steel? Yes emf worsens sinusitis...
Haven't thought about Barometric pressures: googling on this now... Sinusitis is also directly linked with other intolerances/allergies: pollen, dust, ... food: especially dairy (but probably also sugar, grains, ...) Neti pot with salty water helps a bit. Check out Devra Davis' reception for her book Disconnect:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsf1ujR4pkU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HK-5wjAOww Similar to Dr. Carpenter, she is saying that we don't need the "show me the bodies" approach before we set precautionary guidelines. That's American skepticism for you. Other countries, however, are advising precautions. We do, in fact, have enough evidence to call for precautions, Dr. Carpenter argues in the following news program on Wi-Fi. http://www.youtube.com/safeschool#p/u/3/KN7VetsCR2I Magda Havas has been unearthing literature from decades ago. (See: http://www.magdahavas.com) Government authorities pull out the "weight of the evidence" card, but it really doesn't make sense to measure effects by the number of studies finding effects vs. finding no effects. E.g., the studies finding no effects could be on less vulnerable cell lines, or with continuous rather than pulsed radiation, or they can modify the lab methods just so slightly so that the effect doesn't show up. In my mind, if you have 10 or so studies showing a biological effect from many different scientists/organizations, that's quite significant already. E.g., Microwave News compiled a list of at least 10 or 11 studies on DNA breaks from microwaves. There are probably even more studies on free radical effects of microwaves. The real problem is that most reputable health authorities do not recognize the EMF issue, and people will trust them more than grassroots activists. --- In [hidden email], Rixta Francis <rixta.francis@...> wrote: > > At the moment I'm reading a book about EMF and somewhere the question > was asked when governments will take the problem seriously and take > action. Why, cause I am the reason they make all this stuff. I’m a 52 year old computer engineer who loves technology. I’ve been in the computer business for 33+ years. Computers in my house since the early 80’s. Now it feels like it’s all turning against me. I knew the day we severed the wires and went wireless people were gonna pay. > > > > > > > > My house is a breeding ground I’m sure. I have 2 plasma TV’s, 50 and 60 inch. All houses in this large housing development are equipped with smartmeters, both electric and gas. This means 2 per house. This is just the big stuff. Somehow I think I am being overwhelmed. Like last year I hit my limit when they installed the smartmeters, along with towers and such none of us are aware have even gone up. > > > > > > > > Thanks for your help, > > > > Neil > > > > > > > > From: _eSens@yahoogroups.com_ (mailto:[hidden email]) Martin > > Sent: Monday, November 08, 2010 12:17 PM > > To: _eSens@yahoogroups.com_ (mailto:[hidden email]) > > Subject: RE: [eSens] PG& E Smart Meters > > > > > > > > > > > > > I am going crazy from the high pitch noise.
