EMF expert Melody Chan Graves to give us an update on the latest research regarding electrohypersensitivity and what cutting edge environmental docs like Dr. Bill Rea of the Environmental Health Center in Dallas, TX are really seeing with their patients. By the way, Melody Chan Graves herself overcame a debilitating case of fibromyalgia with the help of alternative treatments and building biology. Because of her remarkable recovery after eliminating electromagnetic radiation exposure in her home, she became not only passionate about spreading awareness for electrical hypersensitivity syndrome, but now specializes in electromagnetic radiation detection and mitigation in clients’ homes (www.ecodynamicliving.com). Here’s Melody’s report: Dr. William Rea shared insights about electrical hypersensitivity gleaned from nearly thirty years of working with environmentally ill patients. Rea opened by saying that human beings are all antennas with different levels of sensitivity, and finding safe places for sensitive people is like trying to “reinvent the cave.” He has observed a high correlation with sensitivity to metals like zinc, copper, stainless steel, titanium, molybdenum, manganese, and magnesium. Metal implants like dental fillings, metal jaws, shoulder joints, etc. will contribute to electrical sensitivity, because they act as antennas. Underscoring the synergistic relationship between different types of environmental exposures, Dr. Rea remarked that 80-90% of ES is preceded by multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS), and pesticide exposure is the initiator in 80% of patients seen. A growing area of concern is chemical exposure from fracking associated with natural gas wells. Dr. Rea is convinced that whatever is in the gas line is present in the air around the gas well and is being inhaled by occupants inside the fracking zone. He attributes this to the use of hydrochloric acid in conjunction with toxic chemicals in the fracking fluid. This can be confirmed through a breath analysis that he performs on patients at the clinic. In other words, he can detect specific fracking chemicals in the exhaled breath of patients living in fracking zones, ranked natural gas drilling as the second most prevalent trigger to electrical sensitivity in the patients he has seen in his clinic. The four major triggers are listed below: Four Major Triggers to Electrical Sensitivity Exposure to Pesticides, Molds, and MycotoxinsFracking from natural gas drillingFormaldehydeTechnology, such as occupational exposure to high levels of electromagnetic fields He also shared the methods of treating electromagnetic sensitivity he had developed over his many years in practice. Treatment of Electromagnetic Sensitivity Live away from electrical and pesticidal areas in regions like West Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana.Live in areas where it is difficult to pick up Wi-Fi, television, cellular service, etc.Live in areas where grounding is feasible, and avoid underground wires, cables, metal, pipes, etc. ES patients must be grounded. Inside, decrease your toxic load. Pay attention to your building materials and design. Build with wood, ground rods, a floor raised off the ground, not situated over iron veins or old railroad tracks. Choose low-terpene woods.Shield the computers and TV. Shield building wiring, and try to have some walls in each room with no interior wiring. Place the bed in the middle of the room. This aids in reducing exposure to any electromagnetic fields coming from your existing house wiring. Choose a hardwood or ceramic floor. These are the materials least likely to trigger chemical sensitivities. Sleep on a wooden bed frame made of hardwood, not pine or cedar. Pine and cedar are high in natural terpenes, which often trigger reactions in sensitive people. Use cotton or silk bedding (no wool). Most commercial wool and some eco-wool is still treated with toxic fire retardants.Sleep on a “metal-free” bed. He stated that ES has a genetic component waiting for a trigger, and that Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, dead nerves in the brain, and heart arrhythmias are all examples of end results of ES patients left untreated. Despite the rather gloomy news about ES, he expressed hope at the continued growth of the environmental medicine field. Hi Kathy,
Thank you so much for the info on Dr. Rae... I just saw Dr. Rae for a first visit a week or two ago, so I thought I'd add my thoughts and observations to the thread... I live in Texas, so it wasn't that far of a drive. I should give you a little background on my journey... Over the last few years I've had unexplained weight loss, rashes and skin problems, and increasing food sensitivities. All tests show normal, and I've seen over a dozen specialists. When it was clear that there's nothing I can pin down inside my body, I began to look outside, at my environment. I've been working in IT for the past 15+ years, around all kinds of hardware, routers, cell phones, and wireless technologies. I'm a geek, so I come home and unwind on my laptop, surf the Web... Symptoms have slowly progressed and began a year or two after I took a job, and recently I found out that our building has several cell antenna on the roof of the building. We all work only 30-40 feet away and have powerful Wifi routers all over the floors as well. The homes I have lived in locally all have Wifi going, so I'm constantly being exposed to Wifi day and night. I recently bought an Acoustimeter RF meter (excellent meter by the way) and after 3 years of searching I now have evidence that wireless signals are affecting my health. I've found the closer I am to wireless routers and cell phones, my symptoms worsen. The more I'm away from Wifi and cell phones, my symptoms improve. Nothing else I've tried over the years has worked, so I think I've finally narrowed it down. Of course my EMR sensitivity is likely caused by some underlying toxicity or perhaps heavy metals, so that also led me to see Dr. Rae... I live in Austin, and a friend suggested that I keep the meter active on my trip along the I-35 corridor up to Dallas. I was surprised to find themeter was mid yellow most of the way (averaging about .2 V/m), with red spikes up to 2.84 V/m, and only an occasional green indicator. Once I got into North Dallas the meter had sustained levels of 3-4 V/m on I-35 near the hotels close to the clinic, and the motel that hosts the clinic's "Less-Toxic housing" has a TV microwave transmitter right near the motel. I didn't stay at the clinic housing to test levels inside, but I imagine they have shielding inside the rooms. North Dallas along I-35 is RF HOT, so if you are very sensitive to RF, you may want to look into the housing the clinic suggests outside of Dallas... The clinic provides good documentation on the services they offer before and during your first visit, and when you have your first appointment, you meet with his patient coordinator first then the doc. She gives you an idea of what to expect on the first visit and is who you follow up with afterward as well. When I met Dr. Rae, he's very direct and asks a lot of questions. We talk a good while, and he suggested grounding myself with leather souled shoes, as I wear sneaker types, and he suggests regular grounding exercises to recoup (bare feet in the grass and soil to ground). He says he wants to test for heavy metals and begin a series of allergy skin tests to provoke a reaction. Then they provide a neutralizing antigen that's injected to balance out the effects of what you are sensitive to... I asked if it was like homeopathy, where you dilute substances, but I don't get a clear understanding of what the process involves. If anyone has a good understanding of how these antigens are prepared and how they work, I would love to hear it! Dr. Rae is very much against the use of plastics in food and water and uses glass. He thinks that working around lots of laptops over the years may have increased my heavy metal content. If I turn out to have a high metal load, I think I'll go back to using glass cookware, Visions I think it's called, and a major detox is in order... After meeting with Dr. Rae, I meet with his patient coordinator again, and she goes over the tests the doc would like to run... The numerous tests and office visit run close to $4,000 out of pocket, and it's a bit much for me to swallow on my first visit, so I opted to do a simple hair analysis to see if I have high heavy metals first. His coordinator is very nice and helpful, is not pushy, but (to me) it did feel a bit awkward to discuss which tests to order with his coordinator not Dr. Rae. Everyone at the clinic was pleasant. I bought his book about how to build a healthy home or office, as it has lots of good tips. I think there was something in their HVAC system they use to clean the air, that left a chemical taste in my mouth/nose and on my clothing that lingered all day. I need to ask them about how they process the air in the clinic... I did get a chance to talk with one of his patients picking up her antigen order... She said she's been doing it since 1992, and it's the only thing that has kept her able to work. No doubt he has helped many people, but I get the feeling his clinic is geared towards the very ill and you need to have deep pockets. Initially I wanted to see Dr. Rae to hopefully get a diagnosis of EHS, but as it turned out, I was able to confirm that with my meter and careful observation. My symptoms are delayed by hours to days, so it's been harder to pin down... I have two suggestions to the group, if you haven't researched these... One is the book, Disconnect, byDevra Lee Davis. It's isa well written book that really helped me and explains how this wireless microwave energy works, looks at the studies that have been done. Another is, Full Signal. It's an excellent documentary done on cell towers and wireless radiation. I found both at the local library... I find it ironic that the technology that I love is making me sick, but it's true... Bummer. If anyone else has had an experience with Dr. Rae, I would enjoy hearing about it. Tim P.S. If there's anyone in the group that lives in Austin, I'd be happy to help you test RF with my Acoustimeter... Just send me a direct email... All I ask of you is a pair of AA batteries for testing, as it eats batteries for lunch. ________________________________ From: KathyB <[hidden email]> To: [hidden email] Sent: Sunday, January 29, 2012 5:04 PM Subject: [eSens] Insights from Dr. Rea He mentions not living a underground wiring. HI Tim, Interesting insight here. Thanks. Just wanted to tell you, your meter is not eating batteries for lunch. Chances are: You Are! I had this same problem with my daughter with flashlights and her little camera. I finally figured out she was so ungrounded, her body was drinking the juice from the batteries like Kool-aid! As for wireless radiation increasing heavy metals in the body, there is a Dr Klinghardt, who states: if you put any micro toxin/ mold/ bacteria/ heavy metal in the field of emfs, they will multiply 600%. So yes, the wireless radiation is reaking havoc with human health. I also find it disturbing that this clinic is in a high emf area. And that they make it most difficult for many to afford those services. Best of luck to you! Lizzie P.S. On top of all the wireless technology in your house, have you also checked the wiring to make sure it is properly wired and grounded? Also, there are ways to ground your bed, and its also important to sleep on a non-metal bed, away from walls with wiring in them. I would hope that this was part of the information the clinic gave you. Hi Lizzie,
Thanks for the reply and thoughts... Keeping grounded (physically and spiritually) is something I definitely have to work on! I found the original batteries in the Acoustimeter lasted maybe 8 hours, rated for 20 hours. Might be the way that I use the meter, many short tests, and you have to turn off the meter to clear the settings. There's battery life still in the cells, but the meter starts to freak out when the batteries get lower... I saw an interesting phenomenon at work... I work as a Desktop Support Technician, and I brought a lab work bench into my office to help organize my work area better. It's a very heavy substantial metal bench with anti-static mats on the surface. I didn't ground the bench however. :-( I found that the longer I worked at the bench the more sleepy I would get, especially later in the afternoon. I used my TriField meter to look at the EM fields and found there was a high electrical field generating where I work, yet I had no electrical devices plugged in on the bench. The bench has power outlets all over it to a 220V outlet, but I didn't hook up any power to the bench either. I put the meter down on the bench, and the electrical field went away. Hmmmm... So I discovered that the combination of the bench and my body created this high electrical field when I and the bench are not grounded. The combo must act as an antenna somehow, as I found no field generated when I worked at a plastic work bench, and I didn't find myself sleepy in the afternoons after switching to a plastic work bench. It was an interesting lesson... BTW, I found some Seltzer filters on Criagslist and applied them at work to get the electric current at work to low 30's on the Seltzer meter, down from 80's untreated. This helped as well. So I'm going shoe shopping soon! :-) My experience confirms the concept of molds/bacteria/fungi multiplying under EM fields... When my symptoms began to get worse, I was living in a house, newer cheap construction, a block away from massive high tension wires, and I could pick up over a dozen Wifi signals on my laptop in my bedroom (no kidding!). I began to loose weight no matter what I did. Although I had to keep to a low fat diet, my calorie intake was 2000-2500 calories a day, and I kept loosing weight, got down to 110 pounds (5'8" height) at the worst until I moved. Bowel testing indicated higher fungi and bacteria counts, no other tests revealed anything. Nothing I did supplement wise helped the weight loss, even high probiotics. When I moved from this house mysteriously I began to gain weight and noticed the fungi and bacteria counts appeared to go down (tongue coating diminished and bowels improved). I moved to an older home built in the 80's, far from high tension wires, and there were only 2-3 Wifi signals I could pick up. I think it was the EMR, but it could be a combo of EMR and chemicals in the house. During this time I slept on a cotton futon with a memory foam topper, on a wooden frame (no metals). The weight loss happened over a 2 year period, very slowly, but it only took a matter of weeks after moving before I began to gain weight... I *think* Dr. Rae has been at his present location for a long time... All this wireless energy has cropped up around him unfortunately. Looks like he's done a good job of filtering out the effects of the world around him, but when traveling in North Dallas, it's very hot RF, much more dense than driving in Austin I found. I can imagine the cost of moving his clinic would be significant, but the levels aren't as high near the clinic. It's mainly where the hotels are along the highway adjacent to the clinic that I saw the highest levels. It's something to consider if staying in the area... The cost of good medical care is expensive wherever you go it seems, but you have to look at the cost/benefit. For myself, I am finding avoiding EMR and RF is helping my symptoms, so I'm still debating on whether the antigen therapy is appropriate for me right now. My symptoms at present are mild in comparison with many, but I'm concerned that if I don't do something now, things will progress and get much worse. It's a wake up call... Life is quite an adventure! :-) Tim ________________________________ From: Elizabeth thode <[hidden email]> To: [hidden email] Sent: Tuesday, January 31, 2012 10:23 PM Subject: RE: [eSens] Insights from Dr. Rea HI Tim, Interesting insight here. Hi Tim, Well, that is very interesting about the metal bench, although knowing what I now Know, not surprising. But a very good piece of info for people to know. The weight loss, glad to hear you are doing so much better. Usually, when weight drops, even gradually, this is the adrenals. When the thryoid is out of balance, its usually weight gain, and when the adrenals are way over stressed, it will be weight loss. Something for people to keep in mind. These two glands play a HUGE role in health! This is commonly seen when elderly people become very ill, they drop alot of weight. Many attribute this to the sickness, which of course it is, but the missing piece often overlooked, is that their adrenals took a big dive downwards. You're probably right, that Rea set up his office way before the proliferation became so profound. Were you able to get a better understanding of this protocol with the antigens? Out of curiosity, I'd like to know more about it. Is he targeting the heavy metals? Is there anything in his protocol that is supporting the thryoid and adrenals? As for the battery thing, I know this sounds really weird, but many people : shut down computers, can't wear a watch, zap lightbulbs, complain their cell phone doesn't hold a charge- ...all related to the body not being electrically grounded. And its common to hear these people say, oh, must have been the battery, must have been a cheap lightbulb, cheap watch...because this connection between the body being grounded and zapping batteries or lightbulbs or probably most common, the watch thing, is just not OUT there in the information. Same thing with frizzy hair. Hair attracts static electricity big time. Heck, I've seen people so unbalanced electrically, they screw up the electrical in their cars! They blame it on the car's electrical system. Wise choice on the metal free bed! You are right, it is a wake up call. Thanks for sharing your valuable information with us! Keep us posted. Lizzie To: [hidden email] From: [hidden email] Date: Thu, 2 Feb 2012 05:48:22 -0800 Subject: Re: [eSens] Insights from Dr. Rea Hi Lizzie, Thanks for the reply and thoughts... Hey Lizzie,
Although I've suspected EMR for a long while now, I've only recently confirmed the connection, so I have a bit of catching up to do with the group... I look forward to reading about other experiences and insight. Collectively we can learn, grow, help each other, and put some of the pieces of the puzzle together... I know what you mean about adrenal and thyroid health. Thyroid problems run in my family, so that was the first to get tested. Adrenals, immune system, bowels, and everything else tested normal except for fungal/bacterial flora, so it was very frustrating and difficult to get doctors to help me figure it out. I suspect it was the fungal/bacterial imbalance that caused the weight loss. It seemed no matter what I ate, I wasn't getting the nourishment. The bad guys were getting it first. I think the high EMR in that house caused the flora imbalance, but it's hard to know for certain. Kathy Electrical hypersensitivity triggers and treatment. Dr. Rea’s clinic uses rawhide springs in the box springs of their beds.Eat organic foods and adhere to a rotary diet to minimize food sensitivities.Drink spring, distilled, or filtered water. Some ES patients can tolerate distilled water better because of its lack of minerals. The best spring waters are as follows: Mountain Valley Springs Water (Hot Springs, AR)EvianSome German watersSome British watersVarious treatments he uses at his clinic include: Neurotransmitter supplementationMagnesium, multivitamin, multimineral, and lipid/oil supplementationOxygen and hyperbaric therapyImmune modulators Gammaglobulin replacementAutogenous Lymphocytic Factor (ALF) for improved T-cell functionTraditional sauna treatment with wood and glass or ceramic sauna When asked to describe the end result of ES, Dr. Rea said the syndrome most definitely telescopes into a fatal disease. Currently, there are three physician’s organizations dedicated to environmental medicine, and there are about 5,000 complementary doctors worldwide. Hi Tim, Pretty funny...."I'm certainly NOT moving back there to test!" Don't blame you one bit. IF the antigen protocol is based on the "Old' allergy tests, I myself would be very leary. What worked pre cell phone era with some healing modalities would be possible recipe for disaster today...because of the fact that radiation multiplies these toxins. And too, I have known quite a few people who got the allergy shots and it didn't help them...and I think the cell phone radiation was the reason why. I can't help thinking common sense dictates here: if you're allergic to something, exactly HOW does giving the body even more of this, going to help? Is that like the new math? In a nutshell, its like applying an old remedy that worked decades ago, to completely different situations that apply today, without taking into effect the new situations we are faced with. As to the body voltage meters, sure, its fairly easy to modify a meter, get the wires and clamps, and make your own body voltage meter. Only tricky part is the grounding part. They recommend a rod in the ground. This is a gray area...as some areas may be full of stray current...so literally hooking up your body to a grounding are that is full of stray current or voltage...they also recommend using a water pipe to g round....BAD IDEA> This could cause harm to you...in increasing the inner body voltage. I use a method that avoids either of these. IF you want to know more, let me know. It is not commonly done here, but I have used this system for 2 years and found it works quite well. It will give you an idea of what your body voltage is, and how it changes under different situations...like certain areas....rooms in your house, with certain circuits off or on...ect. Its a useful tool. And many people find meters and numbers very helpful. Mostly I can tell, by listening to my body. My daughter is very senstive too.....we can basically tell what the meters is going to say. And that part is quite interesting. As for Thyroid and candida and leaky gut...when the thryoid goes down, the candida goes up. As for testing, the best way to test is to do the Barnes Basal Temp test. You can do this at home. No blood is needed. I will send attachments to your email address, as they are blocked on this site. Thanks for sharing. Yes, its a journey and we all do help each other. I liken it to the best stocked book store ever on ES. Kathy Electrical hypersensitivity triggers and treatment. Because of her remarkable recovery after eliminating electromagnetic radiation exposure in her home, she became not only passionate about spreading awareness for electrical hypersensitivity syndrome, but now specializes in electromagnetic radiation detection and mitigation in clients homes (www.ecodynamicliving.com). Heres Melodys report: Dr. William Rea shared insights about electrical hypersensitivity gleaned from nearly thirty years of working with environmentally ill patients. Rea opened by saying that human beings are all antennas with different levels of sensitivity, and finding safe places for sensitive people is like trying to reinvent the cave. He has observed a high correlation with sensitivity to metals like zinc, copper, stainless steel, titanium, molybdenum, manganese, and magnesium. Most commercial wool and some eco-wool is still treated with toxic fire retardants.Sleep on a metal-free bed. Dr. Reas clinic uses rawhide springs in the box springs of their beds.Eat organic foods and adhere to a rotary diet to minimize food sensitivities.Drink spring, distilled, or filtered water. He stated that ES has a genetic component waiting for a trigger, and that Alzheimers, Parkinsons, dead nerves in the brain, and heart arrhythmias are all examples of end results of ES patients left untreated. Despite the rather gloomy news about ES, he expressed hope at the continued growth of the environmental medicine field. Currently, there are three physicians organizations dedicated to environmental medicine, and there are about 5,000 complementary doctors worldwide. Body voltage must be measured when the person is in a potentialfree situation.
Normally this is lying in a bed. Ideal is 30mV. General it is 300-800mV. An electrical blanker may rise to 4.000mV And a waterbed may climb up to 55.000 to 80.000mV. I also have a special meter which can measure the cell tension. According to Nobel prize winner Otto Warburg, a normal cell has an electrical potential of 70mV, an aged cell at 50mV and a cancer or ill cell is 15mV. I normally measure between 34 and 48mV. Thanks Lizzie!
Ah, so it's the old... The hip bone's connected to the... leg bone, eh? It's possible the EMR in that house suppressed the thyroid, which then in turn allowed the fungi to have a great time. The body is such a complex beast. In a way, ya'll are very fortunate to know where your boundaries are with EMR, as you get more immediate feedback from your bodies. With me, my reactions are always so delayed, so it's tough to pin them down. I think I have enough evidence now linking Wifi and cell signals to my symptoms. I've suspected intuitively for so long. I just had to "prove" it to my brain. This knowledge is going to rock my world. :-) Tim ________________________________ From: Elizabeth thode <[hidden email]> To: [hidden email] Sent: Thursday, February 2, 2012 11:59 PM Subject: RE: [eSens] Insights from Dr. Rea Hi Tim, Pretty funny...."I'm certainly NOT moving back there to test!" Don't blame you one bit. I'm certainly not moving back there to test! :-) I don't know about the antigen therapy used at the clinic. I think it's based in the same fashion as allergy shots to help the immune system better handle pollens or whatever you may be allergic to... In that way, I think they give you increasing doses of what causes your allergy to build the immune system. What concerns me about that is if I'm sensitive to metals, will the antigen therapy contain metals? I don't know, and I'm hoping to find someone who can help me understand how it works... It's funny you mention folks affecting their car's electrical system... I had such a problem with my car a couple of years ago. For a short while, the dash lights would flicker and make a strange buzzing sound. Then it mysteriously went away... I attributed it to Gremlins. I've read about body voltage meters and that it provides a different kind of bio-feedback, maybe more accurate for what's going on inside us rather than outside? Any thoughts about that? I found a plan to build one, and it seems fairly easy to build... I came close to buying a Prius a couple of years ago, and thank the maker that I didn't! Talk about EMF... Whew! Tim ________________________________ From: Elizabeth thode <[hidden email]> To: [hidden email] Sent: Thursday, February 2, 2012 12:55 PM Subject: RE: [eSens] Insights from Dr. Rea Hi Tim, Well, that is very interesting about the metal bench, although knowing what I now Know, not surprising. Kathy Electrical hypersensitivity triggers and treatment. Currently, there are three physician’s organizations dedicated to environmental medicine, and there are about 5,000 complementary doctors worldwide. Thanks Charles. What meter do you have to measure cell tension? Is it a painful test? ;-)
I took a suggestion from http://emfwise.com/body-voltage-meter.php and quickly built a body voltage meter. Going on the suggestions of Lizzie and Emil (thank you both!), so far I've tried using the electrical ground which is OK and is relative to the environments that I want to test (home and work). This is so easy to build! Just take a good multi-meter and a standard three prong electrical cord. Don't try to saw those pesky prongs off the cord from the instructions, as those suckers are tough! Take some pliers, and rock the prong back and forth until it naturally breaks. This will leave a clean and recessed area, so there's no metal contact other than the ground. Plug the cord into the ground on a wall socket. Then use the probes of the meter to test. I connected the hot lead (red) to the ground (the middle opening at the end of the cord) and then touched fingers from both hands to the neutral lead (black) probe to complete the circuit, to get what I think are accurate results. A pic of the basic setup from the instructions is below, although I used a Fluke from work. As per the instructions, before you do this you'll want to test your ground with an outlet tester to make sure it's properly grounded! Here's a cheap one if needed: http://www.amazon.com/Electrical-Outlet-Circuit-Safety-Tester/dp/B0002O1E7W/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1328390752&sr=8-7 I found readings between 30-50 mV sitting in front of my laptop at home. I get less than 1 mV lying down on my bed. Perhaps something is not right with my method, as I expected higher? Next, I'll test using ground from outside to compare, because I'm all about comparing things. I found some good basic info from http://www.greennest.com/pdf/bodyvoltage.pdf, and this is what they suggest for sleeping areas: Building Biology Biological Risk Ratings for Sleeping Spaces Ideal Weak Strong Extreme Under 10 mV 10 to 100 mV 100 to 1000 mV Over 1000 mV Tim ________________________________ From: charles <[hidden email]> To: [hidden email] Sent: Saturday, February 4, 2012 7:35 AM Subject: Re: [eSens] Insights from Dr. Rea Body voltage must be measured when the person is in a potentialfree situation. I also have a special meter which can measure the cell tension. According to Nobel prize winner Otto Warburg, a normal cell has an electrical potential of 70mV, an aged cell at 50mV and a cancer or ill cell is 15mV. I normally measure between 34 and 48mV. Please remember this: body voltage is a measurement of the voltage in your body RELATIVE to something. You can measure it relative to anything you want. In my opinion, it makes sense to measure it relative to your immediate environment as that is what will be acting on the electrons in your body. In a house or building, this usually means measuring relative to the building's electrical ground EVEN IF that ground is lousy. In a car, train, camper, or airplane, you could measure relative to the metal frame of the vehicle. If you measure relative to something that is not in your immediate environment, what good it that? Imagine the silly extreme or measuring relative to the bottom of the ocean, or the moon. There is no point, as those are not affecting the electrons in your body. Tim, I do know what you mean about the "delayed" symptoms. This is part of what makes it challenging to connect the dots. I still have delayed symptoms today. I can go run errands, be around the radiation zone....won't pay for it till tomorrow or the next day. OH yea, this is already rocking the world. And when the rest finally wake up....its really gonna rock them! Everything is connected. You are a quick learner. Lizzie To: [hidden email] From: [hidden email] Date: Sat, 4 Feb 2012 16:57:20 -0800 Subject: Re: [eSens] Insights from Dr. Rea Thanks Lizzie! Kathy Electrical hypersensitivity triggers and treatment. Hi Paul and All,
Since I am relatively low tech, cannot afford all the pricey meters, would likely need a course in using most of them, etc..... I learned to deal with this issue from another angle. [If you knew me personally you would find I am always working to find the easiest way to do what others claim can only be done their difficult and costly way. lol] Instead of measuring for voltage, I measure for pH. Because *cell* voltage and cell pH correspond to one another, adjusting one's pH will automatically adjust one's cell voltage. Measuring *body* voltage is subjective--it depends on what the voltage of your environment is. pH/ *cell* voltage is a measurement of what your body's cells are. For the most accurate pH reading you can get, you should have a pH blood test, but you can also "work" on your pH, fine-tuning it up or down (usually, you need to get more alkaline, which is "up") by using saliva and urine pH readings. You can use also water pH test strips to test the alkalinity of your drinking water, as drinking highly acid water will add to the acidity of your body (most water sources these days tend to more acidity, due to all the pollutants/emfs in them. This is why, for 2 years, I drank filtered alkalized water at pH 7.5 to 7.8. Make sure you are using the proper strips to read these (water, saliva, urine) pHes. All pH strips are not the same. The easy to find ones are for testing soil! Rather than spend all day writing to explain this, I am sending sites. It is a bit of reading, but it is your health we are talking about here. You should consider the reading as a good investment. (Comment intended for All, not Paul.) I did not come to this information thru Dr. Tennant, btw. Hi Diane,
Thank you for the insight! I love elegant simple solutions. In my many previous explorations, I worked with body pH for a good while and studied the curezone site. For me, regulating pH and diet wasn't enough to reduce my symptoms. It was only until I invested in a very sensitive meter to figure out where my greatest exposure is at work and home, that I've been able to reduce symptoms. The Cornet meters are relatively inexpensive and are sensitive enough for testing. The body voltage meter might be a cheap feedback device, but I don't have much experience with it yet. I got a spendy Acoustimeter because I'm still working in a high EMR IT environment, and I need a very sensitive meter. Of course the cheapest solution is to avoid Wifi and cells, keep electrical devices away from you, and turn off devices at night. Avoidance is working for me too... It certainly is a complex issue, and each of us can learn from others experiences. PH is a part of the puzzle... Diet, endocrine health, environment, grounding, detox, all too seem to be parts as well... If regulating pH is helping your EHS symptoms, consider that a blessing! :-) I look forward to looking into Dr. Tennant's work. Unfortunately our library doesn't have his books, DOH! Looks like the photo didn't come across in the post. You can see it through the link if that helps... I also found I was using mV on the meter which measures DC. Gotta read the fine print! I think that's why my readings were off. We want to use the V AC setting... To get mV you simply move the decimal point over three places to the right... .183 V = 183 mV. Now I'm seeing the numbers I expected, around 500 mV around my laptop. I'm finding no change in numbers with Wifi on or off, so the body voltage meter does not appear to measure RF exposure from what I can tell, mainly electrical exposure... It's another tool in our tool belt!

What meter do you have to measure cell tension? Is it a painful test? ;-) I took a suggestion from http://emfwise.com/body-voltage-meter.php and quickly built a body voltage meter. Whew! Kathy Electrical hypersensitivity triggers and treatment. Currently, there are three physician’s organizations dedicated to environmental medicine, and there are about 5,000 complementary doctors worldwide. Think of all these as pieces of a giant puzzle Tim. They will all fit together, one way or another. The key will be unique to the circumstances. Where PH plays a role in all health, is PH is sort of like an oxygen counter. The more oxygen that gets into the cells, the healthier the cells will be. You are correct in that this is a multi factor issue. Finding the biggest offender/assaulters to your unique circumstances is key. Then it's just a matter of filling in the other puzzle pieces. Because those seemingly little pieces? Aren't so little as you will find out, if ya haven't already. You've got a great attitude, and that right there, is your best tool. I liken this to the layers of an onion, or stripping away layers of old wall paper. EAch layer reveals a mystery to be solved. And my thanks to EVERYONE on here for all your valuable contributions! Keep em coming in .....the old wallpapers coming off and we are finding answers and solutions. Victories our are's for the taking! I stumbled and bumbled my way to it (over decades) on my own. However, rather than taking you thru my convoluted path to healing, I thought I'd share a short-cut. ;) This is an article written about Dr. Jerry Tennant's work, called, "Voltage: The Key to Rebuilding your Health". I recommend reading all of Dr. Tennant's books (and his site) which you can get your hands on, but at least read "Healing is Voltage: The Handbook" and/or "Healing is Voltage: The Textbook". (And yes, the books will be redundant, to a large extent, but each will share a little bit different info.) http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1609817 This site is about pH and how to measure it. It is an easy tutorial. Don't blame you one bit. Whew! Kathy Electrical hypersensitivity triggers and treatment. Yes, that's what it measures, electrical. I can pick up RF from people...I tend to get what I call a radiation burn if I touch someone who is a cell phone junkie. While some may think this is weird, it is what it is. ________________________________ From: Tim <[hidden email]> To: "[hidden email]" <[hidden email]> Sent: Saturday, February 4, 2012 6:57 PM Subject: Re: [eSens] Insights from Dr. Rea Thanks Charles. What meter do you have to measure cell tension? Is it a painful test? ;-) I took a suggestion from http://emfwise.com/body-voltage-meter.php and quickly built a body voltage meter.
