Best cell phone protection besides abstinence :)??

what are everyone's opinions on the best protection (partial) from cell phone EMF's?  I don't carry one and cant stand to be close to one!!  but my husband and 5 children do and want to help them any way I can, even though don't totally believe me!

To start with, you want to choose the least harmful phone you
can find.  I've got an LG 100C (TracFone), which seems perfectly
fine to me (compare this to an iPhone, which is terrible).  
However, your family probably won't like this, as it doesn't have
a large screen, no camera, probably doesn't text well, and is
only 2G.

Next thing is to keep the phone turned off as much as possible.

Any GPS tracking should be disabled.

Use the speakerphone.

And keep calls to a minimum.

1) The safest way to use a cell phone is for true emergencies ONLY. Think: would you STICK YOUR HEAD inside a MICRO WAVE OVEN, AND TURN IT ON HIGH? Same thing!
2). Never use the cell phone with a LOW battery. This increases radiation levels.
3) Keep the cell phone OFF in the car. OFF means OFF. Never EVER USE a cell phone in a car/truck/ vehicle of any kind. The metal chassis of the car bounces the radiation all over the inside the car, turning the vehicle INTO A GIANT RADIATION CAGE! So picture YOU /Hopefully never ANY children/ inside of a GIANT cage of radiation.
So pull over, get OUT of the car before you TURN ON that cell phone!
4) Never use the cell phone within 12-15 ft of babies, small children.
These are, in my opinion, the safest ways to use a cell phone.

Have a friend who was looking for something along that lines, for emergencies.
Unfortunately, I don't know too much about them these days, as I haven't used
one myself in years.

which are primarily Verizon (not AT&T).  So you can order
it on the TracFone website if you enter any Montana
zip code as your primary zip code (note that I don't
live in Montana, but I really wanted a Verizon model
because we go on vacations where AT&T coverage is
non-existent).  

Or if you live in Montana, you can probably just
buy this model for $10 at a Walmart, Radio Shack, etc.

TracFone is great for people who hardly
ever use their phones -- you can purchase cards which
have all of the minutes you'll need in the next 365 days
(which I'll never end up using), and this is cheaper
than most everyone's cellphones that have monthly
bills and contracts.

It was really an added bonus that this phone doesn't
bother me -- although as you know I'm much less
sensitive than many folks here (and I hardly ever
use it)

For the LG100C, I think you have the following options:

  1) GPS is on for every phone call you make
  2) GPS is only on for calls to "911"
  3) GPS is always off

Plus there is a little icon at the top of the screen that indicates
this setting.  I've set mine to the "911" option.

You might need to find an instruction manual for figuring out what
to do, or look around in the settings menu.

This tracphone info is great.!! ....I also, though, hope to learn if there is anything else that could be put in or attached to a phone that might help attenuate, even somewhat, the emf's coming in and out, as I'm pretty sure my young adult kids and husband aren't ready to keep their phones off most the time, etc....thanks so much!

If you shield it, the shielding would need to be on the same side of
the phone that faces your head.  In other words, it would have to
be on the side that has the screen and the microphone.  Perhaps
some of the "transparent" plastic shielding that LessEMF has would
work for this?  (I don't know)

There are indeed various stickers and things that people attach to
their phone to make them less harmful, although I'm not sure how
much success people have had with these.  I know that I have
collected a LOT of these sorts of things and have tried them out
with previous cellphones of mine, and they didn't make a huge
difference.  

There are also EMF protection devices that you wear on your
person for whole body protection.   And again, I have collected
a lot of these and tried them out when using a cellphone.
I think a couple things helped me to a noticeable degree, and
these are the same devices that help me with other EMF
exposures.  But this is all highly individual, and what helps
one person may not help another.  Also, some of the items
I use are no longer sold... :-(

Here's a few more ideas. Some will be receptive, others may not. The truth is- cell phone radiation makes people sick in many different ways.
Head-aches anyone? How about brain fog? Can't sleep? How about acne problems? Thinning hair?
Weight problems? Can't lose that weight no matter what they do? Try this very simple thing: blame the "thing" that shuts down the thryoid, the thyroid that regulates WEIGHT!
Tell em: shut your cell phone OFF, for 3 weeks. (or use it ONLY in true emergencies- this means keeping it OFF except when checking for messages or making emergency calls). Now go back to doing all the exercises/ eating veggies, ect that they were doing to try to lose weight....after 3 weeks, compare the results: what they lost using that cell phone all the time- versus what they lost NOT using the cell phone hardly at all.
True, its a very daring idea. However, if even ONE person in a circle of people LOST weight, trying this WEIRD idea, in a culture where so many are trying so hard to lose weight- this weird idea will spread and spread and might even become the new weightloss plan.
And if you add feeding the Thyroid Iodine, its a WIN-WIN!

I'm thinking a piece of reflective sheet—like the reflective sheet for car windshields, or a little piece from a durable mylar blanket—taped to the phone like a flap.

I don't do this myself though. I don't own a phone. But I do know through personal and scientific testing that reflective sheet reflects RF very well.

I'm beginning to think such stuff are pure scams. Whatever effect is just placebo, which eventually wears out.

Some time ago I got a couple of GeoClense, hoping that it can do the magic it's supposedly meant to do. Effect: A pricey lesson.

Not entirely true... I've got EMF protection devices that
are up 11 years old now, and they still are working.  

Certainly there may be some (many?) such items that could
be classified as "scams", but not ALL of them are.  At
least, some of these things work for me...

good thoughts!  does anyone know if a person can still text thru these plastic shields--since I am talking about young adults who aren't willing to give up certain things that shield themselves, unfortunately, yet!!

Yes, I guess shielding materials may interfere with the
ability to use the touchscreen...

I suppose you're referring to Quantum Pro and Companion. Those seems to be of a different class. I'm considering them actually. I hesitate thought due to past experience, and the cost for this is somewhat high.

I've a few questions:

1. Does it work somewhat like sound cancelling? If not, since it's possible have a device than cancels sound, which is a vibration, I'm thinking, it should possible to create one that cancels various forms of radiation, which are vibrations too. If this can be made, and made cheap and portable, I can imagine it becoming a big hit.

2. Have these Quantum products been scientifically tested? I like this test on EMF sensitivity: http://www.aehf.com/articles/em_sensitive.html Eliminating people who aren't suitable subjects makes the test a whole lot more reliable.

3. Has anyone else here used their products before?

Yes, although there are other EMF protection devices that
I've owned for a long time that seem to work as well now
as they did in years past (Mega-Chi pendant, personal
polarizer disc, Springlife Polarizers, RADAR card,
Tachyon wristbands, etc.).  Although not all of these
are still available... (not much market for these things)

Quantum Products are supposed to work using "Quantum
Coherence", which is a type of noise reduction using
Quantum Physics.  There are some other products that
advertise themselves as working in a similar/same way...
for example, Vinny Pinto's Coherent Space prototype

They have done their own in-house testing which has shown
benefits, but I doubt these would qualify to the most
skeptical as "scientific testing", as I don't think
they were double-blind, had large number of test subjects,
etc.  I've got some of their reports myself that they

Yes, and we've had the reports range from Loni's "it didn't
do anything" to Evie's "the Quantum Pro works really well".
So it's hit & miss... like many things...
