BPL (broadband over power line) is a subset of PLC (power line communication). My town has PLC and it does not show on this BPL database, so your area may still have PLC. Best way to find out is to ask a utility technician that you run into on the street and hopefully they will tell you the truth. Many utilities feel free to lie to the customer today.
If you have Hunt Turtle TS2 power line communication, the meter will most likely have a little turtle emblem on it. TWACS (the worst) PLC's maker is Aclara who's logo is a small red square with rounded corners and two crossed white lines. Our Aclara TWACS meter is a Landis Gyr - it has a transceiver inside to communicate with wireless gas or water meters and whatever else they desire but are not telling us about (: The utility lies to the customers about its wireless capability.

Thank you for the links with great articles to understand this nightmare. I am pleased to say I looked up our zip code
from this link & it states we do not have PLC in ours. Everyone in the US can look up their zip codes.
