spinal fusion (was MRI)

Paresh
As a result of my MRI, I need a spinal fusion in the cervical vertebrae. They put in a titanium plate I think. I really have no choice. Anyone had experience with having a metal plate in your body, re emf? I know there may have been other posts in the past but I didn't pay attention until now. thanks.

You do have a choice, always.
Get a second, third and fourth recommendation until you find a better
solution.
There are much better solutions, I am sure.

Hey Paresh:

I had a titanium plate implant for one year
above the left breast.  Its called a Reveal Implant,
the size of a wriggleys pack of chewing gum.

I didn't see worsening of my symptoms.  I did have a
bad reaction to the anesthetic which was lowest dose, since
it wore off quickly.  It was painful, for the last five mins whist
they were finishing stitching me up.

I reacted badly to the local, even though, it was minimal.
I was also given a shot of midazolem (a powerful benzo).
I reacted to that too, and felt addicted immediately.  It cause me
some kind of withdrawal and craving for that toxic stuff for many
months.  I have always stayed clear of psychotropics, and always
will.

Oh, the other thing I reacted to when they removed it after one year,
was the glue they used instead of stitches.  That gave me instant neurological
symptoms, really nasty.  I refused the midazolem this time, and wanted nothing
except the lowest dose of local anesthetic.

Which anesthetic will they be using for this procedure?

Have they talked about prolotherapy to you? That would be much
better if it would stabilize the joints, not so invasive and hard on the body. I can't see adding any kind of metal as helping your situation electrically.

Hi Paresh

Can I ask -what exactly did the MRI show up in your case?? because there is a
lot of difference between "you have dx XYD and the options are 1,2,3 etc" and
"the MRI shows you need to have a titanium plate inserted". What would the
titanium plate be intended to do to help you??

Medically, you need to take the best decision for yourself that you can in order
to help your body, and I am no expert, but what I can pass on is the advice of
my holistic homeopathic dentist. I haven't yet disclosed to her that I am ES but
she does know that I am metal sensitive and when we were discussing the
possibility of dental implants, which are titanium, she said that she didn;t
think they would be compatible or a good idea for me because of the metal
sensitivity. So imagine how much more sure she would be in that opinion if she
also knew I was ES. Bear in mind that a lot of mainstream docs won't acknowledge
the existence of something like metal sensitivity or metals poisoning [never
mind problems with EMF], most of them wouldn't know how to advise you how to
safely chelate the metals out of your body and as far as they are concerned
things like titanium are a safe medical breakthrough. If it was the case that it
was necesssary to insert pins into your shattered let to enable you to walk that
would be one thing, and you probably wouldn't have another option. But do you
have other options than getting a titanium implant into your vertebrae? and once
in the body how stable is titanuium?

I am asking more questions than I can answer here Paresh. I opted not to have my
cervical MRI and hope I don;t live to regret that decision. I hope that you can
get good reliable information which will help you decide what to do for the
best.

Best wishes

Steph

Steph - The MRI showed a disc is entirely gone in my neck, pressure + damage to the spinal cord, & a deteriorating & potentially dangerous condition. I may have a choice of metals - I'll look into that, but it needs to be done, emf or no. And I'm grateful to have this available, considering there must be many others with the same condition & no help available.

Paresh
