Hi
am trying to track where worse problems use computer - currently reduce time use it, push tower further from me and also speakers and plug strips. wear gloves has increase typos but reduced hand pain by 90% and made me wonder if Dupretrens Contracture Dr said have is from mouse(is wired ) and keyboard use. Am looking for a roller ball mouse in sons stash of old parts. Also when sleep, pretty well, sometimes wake in 2-4am, sometimes cramps, skin, twitches, latley toes to face stickery feeling. Eyes so dry stuck shut... might be oxalates though. SO if wifi in neighborhood and reduced most stuff near bed and next door might have a cordless phone. What might try to shield sleeping area? if try a space blanket then might reflect other neighbors wifi back again. might try a tent. any ideas? realize what works for 1 doesnt work for everybody. Thanks Lynn D |
Hi Lynn,
Always best to have a microwave and an EMF meter to assess your living environment, rather than guess if your neighbor has a cordless phone or WiFi. These days, the chances of them having those devices are good and a meter should pick that up. And you can determine where in your living space is the safest to be. Also, what kind of gloves are you wearing at the keyboard that reduced your hand pain by 90%? Are they just plain cotton gloves or gloves with metal fibers in them? I ordered the shielding socks from Less EMF to wear in front of my computer as I was getting frequencies up my feet from the Wi-Fi and cordless phone in the apartment below me. Well, they made the situation worse. I got stinging sensations on my feet, weather the socks were over another a sock or next to the skin. My only thought was that the weave of the material is too large to block out the frequencies which seems odd, or that the frequencies were getting inside the sock somehow and bouncing around, or that the metal fibers of the sock were picking up frequencies. Duh! Who know? But I would like to know what gloves you use to keep out EMF's. C. Hi C
Am undecided what meter to get if can afford 1. Did get the DT-1130 to try out and not sure what its measuring. I hear sounds (when traffic is quiet)at night as though high speed high pitch fax machine as wondered what from or circulation thru skull. Gloves- started w metallic thermal glove liners for camping, but misplaced one, so wearing cotton on 1 hand (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008NGNR9E/ref=pe_175190_21431760_3p_M3T1_ST1_dp_1 ) had gotten for dancing. online found them on Amazon under automotive maybe for motorcycling. even found a sock, glove set there. Used the volt meter on mine and the metallic fiber is not conductive. But since wearing these calves are getting slight swelling and feet more buzzy, so will try outside bearfoot to see if help and set timer on computer. If lean to monitor, skin on face starts feeling icky. Wonder if you have to ground socks or not. --- In [hidden email], "C.a.b. Silver socks: yes I'm aware of the problem. Best way to wear these is without shoes and make sure to keep your feet on the floor.
I sit cross legged, like most women, so one foot is not on the floor. I have been finding the socks attract the EMF leading to swelling round the ankles / burning. So basically I have found the same as you. :) I bought some anti-static shoes but they don't discharge well enough. --- In [hidden email], "yarnspinner30@..." <lynnd555@...> wrote: > > Hi C > Am undecided what meter to get if can afford 1. Lynn,
Don't know why wearing cotton gloves would help reduce EMF's? Try the Cornet Meter. Its cheap. You said when you lean in to the monitor the skin on your face feels icky. I had to revise my whole computer station set up because when you add up all the EMF coming from the various devices, it is a lot. Look around and make sure you are several feet away from everything. If you have subwoofer speakers, they give off lots of EMF, if you have a battery back-up they give off lots of EMF, then there are power strips, printers, CPU, modems, hard drives, disk drives, etc. Get a distance away from that gear. Get rid of the battery back up. What I did was get an extension cord for my monitor so I could move it away from the CPU and computer station with all the devices on it. Then I put the monitor on a wood chair, leaning the monitor on the back of the chair and then I put the chair in front of a TV tray like table that has my keyboard and mouse on it, so that the monitor is about 4-5 feet away from my face. And I can move the TV tray table forward or back further when I want. This helps alot. I also went to a used computer store and got the plug in roller ball mice, and got rid of the plug in optical type mice - the ones with the light on the bottom. Put ferrite beads on all the cords connected to the devices at your computer station and you may want to invest in a shielded or quantum power strip to plug the stuff into. Putting a knot in each cord also helps to reduce the EMF's coming from the wires or outlets. C. Lessemf.com (http://www.lessemf.com/) has bed canopies for shielding and numerous shielding materials for sale. Canopies are great for ground floor bedrooms, but if you're above ground floor where RF devices are being used below you would need to also shield the area under your bed, otherwise the RF could be entering from below and trapped in your shielded space and create worse ES problems.
Aaronia.com also makes a very effect shielding canopy for the bedroom, but it is very expensive. Lessemf.com sells a low emf USB keyboard and USB computer mouse with long cords so that you can sit far back from your computer monitor. If you have a TV and turn it off and on with a remote, it will still emit RF for a good distance. You can test this with an battery operated AM radio set off station and hear the signals being emitted. So it's best to unplug the TV or have it on a power strip that can just be turned off when not in use. Hope some of these ideas are helpful and you get to feeling better. |

Hi I bought it : it costed 9.63 !!! but ... it's Chinese ... in the user manual no information on what measure it performs . I searched other information on the web: no success. I compared with other EMF meters. At the end, I can conclude that it measure only ELF fields measuring V/m. Any detection of RF wavews. And of the story. Giorgio --- In [hidden email], "C.a.b. Had the same problem. Go to lessemf.com for a long corded USB keyboard and mouse for about $10. It helped me tremendously. Get a Trifield 100XE so you can measure the difference. Also, USB speakers without a power supply are great for reducing EMF. Try NoRad and it will link you to Amazon where you can order these speakers.
