I have been listening to store bought and burned CD's from the late 1980's,1990's and early 2000's . Recently I have noticed that if I download musiconline, Example Itunes, and burn a cd, I get a headache and my ears get full when I listen to it. Anyone else experience this?

Anyone else experience this? Yes, I think there is even an official term for this - "aural fatigue" or something like that. I think it's due to the encoding algorithms -- I encode my own MP3's and find that I have no problem with higher bitrates and constant bitrate encoding, but the lower bitrates and variable encoding rates are the ones that cause problems. For music of the 80's you can buy vinyl lp's and very cheap too... A turntable (my favourite 20th century invention?) doesn't emit a lot of emf! And Idon't think the vinyl sound - which is analog and althus more natural - will give you a headache...
There's also some discussion regards the frequency of music. It used to be 432 Herz, which they consider 'natural' but they changed the frequency to 440 Herz... 440 Herz is supposed to be unnatural. It's only a slight difference in speed, with a lot turntables you can easily adjust the speed (pitch), with most cd-players you can't... I've noticed that if I listen to vinyl with the turntable speed a bit slower than 'normal' the music does feel more relaxed/natural/... Stephen. ps more info on 432 vs 440 Hz: http://www.omega432.com/index.html The current tuning of music based on A440 Hz does not harmonize on any level that corresponds to cosmic movement, rhythm or natural vibration. Mozart and Verdi both based their music from natural vibration and A432 wasnicknamed the Verdi tuning. Most western music, including popular new age music is still tuned at unnatural A440 tuning. The difference between A440 Hz and A432 Hz is only 8 vibrations per second, but it is a perceptible difference in the human consciousness experience. --- In [hidden email], "jim64m" <jim65m@...> wrote: > > I have been listening to store bought and burned CD's from the late 1980's, 1990's and early 2000's . Interesting! It was only last week that I first heard about this 440Hz problem. This is what I stumbled upon:
http://web.mac.com/len15/MUSICAL_CULT_CONTROL/Leonard_G._Horowitz.html I even did a little experimenting this weekend, changing the pitch of some music files, using Audacity..... but this is getting rather off-topic, I guess. --- In [hidden email], "stephen_vandevijvere" <stephen_vandevijvere@...> wrote: > > For music of the 80's you can buy vinyl lp's and very cheap too...
