Hi all
Is there anything we have to be careful while choosing a mobile phone? For example would it be better if we stay away from 3G phones? thanks cindi [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
Hi, Cindi
All I can say is the Lower the SAR rating the better, and use the speaker, I hold mine like im on Star Trek! --- On Sat, 15/8/09, cindi <[hidden email]> wrote: From: cindi <[hidden email]> Subject: [eSens] mobile phones To: [hidden email] Date: Saturday, 15 August, 2009, 10:09 PM Hi all Is there anything we have to be careful while choosing a mobile phone? For example would it be better if we stay away from 3G phones? thanks cindi [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

Hello Cindy,
what a dumb question. A cell phone ist the apparatus with the highest amount of radiation. More than a mobile phone mast. Look at http://www.milieuziektes.nl/Pagina109.html and listen to the modulations. > A cell phone ist the apparatus with the highest amount of radiation. > More than a mobile phone mast. There are no "dumb questions" here... I have a cellphone, but I hardly ever use it. I got the lowest tech phone I could find (it doesn't even have a color screen on it), and I only use it for a couple minutes each month, and when I do, I use it in speakerphone mode. So I don't have any problem with my cellphone -- I probably have more problems with OTHER people's cellphones... Marc |
Hello Marc,
everybody on this forum should know by now, that all mobile phones should be avoided. At all costs. And you are right. OTHER people's cellphones can be an annoyment. There is a german study, which measured the bystanders smoking effect of other mobiles, and they found that you got a 100 to 1000 times the radiation of a mobile phone mast. Yes the first question is, whether it's worth having at all given
the increased cancer, sleep problems, brain damage, etc. If you decide yes, try to find an old phone with an antenna and large battery. The new small batteries use switch-mode power to raise the voltage. Avoid the super powerful phones like Motorola. Keep it off most of the time. Don't use it in the car unless you have a roof antenna mounted. Don't use it on a plane or bus or train. Don't let kids use it. Keep the phone away from you when turning it on or off. Also, when you dial a number, don't hold it close until the call has gone through: the "hand-shake" involves a lot of packets (this advice from a former Verizon engineer). Also, keep the charger unplugged at night so you can sleep without the dirty power it generates. Marc Could you give me some tips on how to find lowest tech phone? did you check SAR values?Sometimes low tech phones have higher SAR values. Is SAR value important.Would it be a problem if phone has camera? thanks cindi ----- Original Message ----- From: Marc Martin To: [hidden email] Sent: Sunday, August 16, 2009 5:19 PM Subject: Re: [eSens] mobile phones > what a dumb question. > A cell phone ist the apparatus with the highest amount of radiation. > More than a mobile phone mast. Unfortunately if the SAR is low, it just means the maximum exposure with
the phone x distance from your head is lower. Most phones are not on full power unless they need to be. Beware of phones that say to keep it 1/2 inch from your head or whatever (including iPhone). What you really want is a phone that can reach the tower with minimal exposure to your head. Unfortunately, SAR does not get measured that way. Antennas are good. Someday we'll have phones that work at 20 GHz.... those might be safer. But for now only the military can use those frequencies. Cindi, I'm afraid that I'm no cellphone expert. My solution has basically
been to use it as little as possible, in speakerphone mode, and get something without a fancy color screen. I've got a low-end Nokia phone (the model number is something like 1100). I did not even consider SAR values, as electrically sensitive people usually react to something other than whatever people usually measure. I don't think having a camera in the phone would be an issue in itself, it's just that phones with cameras tend to have more features (larger, color screen, or a 2nd screen) which may cause problems. OK, so I might be the biggest ignoramus here, but I have my cellphone
plastered with so called crystals, resonators, chips and other gimmicks (see below) and I was under the impression that we are kind of safe to use a cell for a few minutes a day when using protection. Of course I believed those thermographic pictures where they show less heat around our heads.... Grrrrrrrrr Do you notice any difference in symptoms when you use any of these things with your cellphone? That's what I look for -- there are indeed a few things which reduce my symptoms around a lot of EMF sources, so I wouldn't say that they are ALL gimmicks... Marc |

A cell phone that is hearing aid compatible might be less risky then one with all the bells and whistles, that have a camera, and internet capability. It should say hearing aid compatible on the box, and be rated at least M-3 and T-3, or higher, for use with hearing aids.
I think they give off less of the most harmful EMFs, and may be a bit safer to use. This is from research I have been doing that indicates this may be the case. I don't use a cell phone, but my husband does. It stays outside the house at all times, and I never go near it. It is a Motorola that is loaded with all sorts of stuff, and is a major offender for EMFs. Donnie |

I am afraid I'd have to agree with this - and if you have to have one just have an ordinary one without all the apps - it should only be for emergencies and only for calls and texts - definitely not 3G - Iphone is very severeon the unknowing user who prob thinks they have the coolest thing ever [victory for the marketeers] and even more severe on essers. Forgive my cynicism on this but I have just spent 3 days being exposed to one while my sister visited - I was in all kinds of agony for the duration of her visit. And worst of all ??? she is pregnant.

Donnie,
I have a blackberry, and yes it stays outside so my wife cannot feel it. She can sense when a call is coming in before it rings! I noticed that the screen lights up before it rings, so this is when she feels the waves. Large groups of people, all with cells, are also something to avoid. Airplanes are full of cell users and laptops users. US Airways has announced they are starting wifi on their flights. God help us all! Mike (not emf sensitive, but my wife is) P.S. Some ask about computers and shielding. In my wife's case, thereis no computer around she can stand to operate. So everyone is different. --- On Sun, 8/16/09, Donnie <[hidden email]> wrote: From: Donnie <[hidden email]> Subject: Re: [eSens] mobile phones To: [hidden email] Date: Sunday, August 16, 2009, 11:52 AM A cell phone that is hearing aid compatible might be less risky then one with all the bells and whistles, that have a camera, and internet capability. It should say hearing aid compatible on the box, and be rated at least M-3and T-3, or higher, for use with hearing aids.
