metal sensitivity?

I've heard it said here before that some people with EHS are hypersensitive to metals also.  Anyone know why?  Thanks in advance..

I suspect it might have something to do with heavy metal poisoning... I know that some people are so sensitive to metals that they cannot even eat with stainless steel eating utensils.

Generally, from an EMF standpoint, metal can act as an antenna and therefore make one's EMF sensitivity worse.  But that seems different than an actual metal sensitivity.

I have read that it is a common problem for chemically sensitive persons to be sensitive to the smell of metals and that with eyes blindfolded they can identify the type of metal by its smell. Many MCS eventually become ES.  Conclusion??

I think many cases of MCS and ES have a similar root cause -- the body is overloaded with toxic chemicals and metals, the liver and kidneys are not working well, there are ongoing infections and parasites, and chronic inflammation due to all of the above...

ah!  in that case, it sounds like a liver and colon cleanse might be helpful.

Ok thanks.  I was trying to see if I could eventually come to tolerate the Earthcalm pendants because they have metal in them.  But I think I'll just leave them alone; too many  negative reviews around them.

I find EMF protection devices to be an exception to the "no metal" rule.  As sometimes the overall benefit of using a device outweighs the negatives of their being metal in it.  And in fact, my favorite "on my person" devices all have some amount of metal in them.

Now, that doesn't mean that they will help you necessarily... but I don't think that's a good reason to discount a particular device.

yeah no, it's because I'm not sure if the earthcalm products are actually HEALTHY.  but yeah, I agree, the positives would outweigh the negatives.  thanks

Yes, I tend to agree with that... when I look at all the EMF products I've tried, I've tried to ascertain if   they are actually healthy, or are not healthy but doing something to reduce symptoms anyway.  For me, I did conclude that the Earthcalm Resonators were unhealthy (although admittedly they did reduce symptoms).

There actually only a few such things like this that I've concluded are definitely healthy for me... Springlife Polarizers (contains metal), Mega-Chi pendant (contains metal), and Tachyon wristbands (no metal, but also not really good for EMF either, but I still categorize them as healthy).

Recently I have been experimenting with a Pulsor product, the Infra-Card, and while I feel a lot better during the first few hours of wearing it, I then start getting adverse effects and have finally concluded that this is bad too.  I just took it into my muscle-testing nutritionist, and she also agreed that it was bad for me... she said it stressed my adrenals...

Re: metal sensitivity?

SuperLaura
Metal fillings might have something to do with it.... also mercury in compact flourscent lighting that we are exposed to. Metal braces, metal retainers, metal in the body, vaccines (mercury), etc.. Also EMF can cause metals to get through the blood brain barrier and serve as antennas for emf and further poison the body.

Metals are HARD to detox. You really need a doctor (naturopath or functional medicine) to help you cause if you detox wrong you can hurt yourself and make yourself worse stirring up and releasing all the metals and toxins which the body has done its best to store away where they will do less damage.
