good space heater

Can anyone recommend a good space heater, for someone with EHS?  I have been trying to use a DeLonghi oil-filled radiator, but it is too toxic for me (I can smell the oil, mold, and toxins coming from the ventilated portion that houses the wiring).

I tried a DeLonghi oil-filled radiator, and it had a terrible smell
that I could never get to offgas.  I then tried another brand of
oil-filled radiator, and didn't notice any smell from it at all.
However, I'd hardly call it "good" for someone with EHS -- I always
sleep best when it is at the lowest wattage setting, and even
better when it's off!

Westpointe -- found in my local mom&pop hardware store...
if you're in the USA, you might try a local True Value
or Ace Hardware store.

I guess... that's where I have mine... but I've tried several
space heaters over the years, and they're all bad.  Although
I consider the Westpointe I'm using now to be the lesser
of all evils.  :-)

Oh, also the space heater is more tolerable in your bedroom if your
mattress has no metal innersprings in it!

There used to be a heater called the Cadet Softheat EPA 750
(or 1000).  BUt it's discontinued.  Home Depot even used to have it.
I never tried it but the other Softheat baseboard heaters are pretty
good in all respects (if you remove the rubber & vinyl parts),
although they have to be very level to not gurgle, (and some do leak
which is annoying because of the hiss and will eventually burn out.)

I use a Presto Heat Dish. Got it at costco. It has no fan so is quiet but you need to be somewhat around it to be effective. i do find that it will shoot heat out at a distance of around 20 feet

I personally found the heat dishes to be horrific from an ES standpoint...
although I can't remember what brand/model I tried.

I wonder if it affects me that way, I don't think it does. I also needed something completely quiet and that didn't aggravate my chemical sensitivities. I can leave it on for a hours while i watch TV without a problem
