burning

deb3857wick
I have had this unexplained burning. It first started in my legs
for several month, then went to my arms and now my face. I have
been to several doctors who way they can find nothing wrong. I have
a history of sitting in front of a electric bathroom heater in the
winter for several hours. I also do a lot of work on the computer.
I have been told by a Homeopathic doctor that I have high levels of
toxins. But when I went to a Toxicologist and had lab work done he
could find nothing. I am currently doing sauna treatments with an
infrared sauna from heavenly heat. Not sure if it is helping or
making worse. They say with sauna treatments the symptoms get worse
before they get better. I have done some reading on this yahoo
group and think maybe it might be ES instead of toxicity. Where do
I start? Thanks for your help.

A popular theory is that ES itself is due to toxicity, so
looking at detox is certainly a good place to start. With
saunas, I've found that if I do one for short periods
or infrequently (say, twice a month), they can be quite
beneficial. More frequently, and they can be harmful.
Pretty much everything with detox works this way -- you
have to find the amount that is "just right" for current
situation, and don't overdo it.

One good thing to start with is reducing your exposure to
toxins and also electrical fields. This may involve moving
your bed away from an outlet, placing your computer and
monitor as far away from you as is practical, etc. Also,
changing your diet, soap, shampoo, etc. to something
healthier (e.g, stop using anti-antiperspirants, as they
contain aluminum and destroy the myelin sheath of
your nerves)

For detoxification, I've had good luck with supplements.
You may want to look at NDF (heavy metal removal), Mega-H
(hydration, pH raiser, toxin remover), Cellfood
(minerals, enzymes, oxygen). Also, for burning skin,
you may want to experiment with skin lotion -- I've
had luck with Burt's Bees Carrot Creme and also Shakai
dry skin therapy with Borage oil. Also, if you've
got metal dental fillings, you may want to look at
having them safely removed. Or if you've got metal
jewelry, eyeglass frames, etc. on your body, you
might want to have them on your body less.

Also, there are "EMF protection devices" which may
prove helpful. I've had luck with a combination
of items from Quantum Products and Springlife
Polarizers, but there are a variety of things
which people use here.

I feel a burning sensation on my cheeks and under my eyes, on my ears
around cell towers and other similar radiation. My legs, ankles and
feet feel a burning sensation around magnetic field from wires in the
floor and in the car.
My hunch is that the nerves have myelin sheath damage and cannot
process that amount of energy without either overloading or something.
Don't know.

Well, perhaps some people have weaker myelin sheath's than others...
if so, changing ones diet to remove things which damage
the myelin sheath and adding things which rebuild it might be a
possible solution.

A lady at the health food store where I go to buy the ALA I use for chelating mercury told me people with diabetes use it to rebuild the myelin sheath.

Thanks Marc,

I already do a lot of detox things. I am also doing all organic eating and no chemcials when is comes to cleaning and body care. I have been doing all this since April. Can you give me more information on the EMS protections devices? Should I test my house first? If so, what do you suggest for this?

First, you should eliminate any wireless technology in your
house -- replace cordless phones with corded phones, replace
wireless internet routers with wired routers, etc. Use
a corded phone instead of a cell phone. Replace energy
efficient florescent lighting with the old-fashioned
incandescent bulbs. Replace dimmer switches with normal
switches.

In the past, I haven't recommended testing your house
with meters, but it is certainly possible that your
symptoms are being caused by something that can be
found by testing.

You could buy an outlet tester and see if your outlets are
wired correctly:

http://www.professionalequipment.com/xq/ASP/ProductID.70/id.5/subID.54/qx/default.htm

The fix for this would be to have the outlets rewired.

You could also buy Stetzerizer meter to check for line
"noise", as noise seems to be one of the factors that
people react to:

http://www.blockemf.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=754&products_id=4865

The fix for this would be to find whatever it is in your
house that causes the meter readings to go up and
either replace it with something else or use it less, etc.
Alternately you could try the Stetzerizer filters which
is supposed to take noise out of the lines. Some people
here are helped by these filters, although I found them
to make me worse.

http://www.blockemf.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=754&products_id=4866

I even found that I could reduce the meter readings (and
my symptoms) by replacing an outlet with a higher-quality
$2 outlet.

On the subject of EMF protection devices, there are lots
available, but I would start with items from Quantum Products.
For the computer, if you use MS Windows, you can try their
software product for free and see if it makes any difference.
You'll need to experiment with the proper setting level
(I use level "3" on both my work and home computer, but
the settings go all the way up to "20").

http://www.quantumproducts.com/quantumbytefreedownload/

If you find that this helps at all, then I would suggest
buying either a Quantum power conditioner, and plug your
computer equipment into it. Either that, or the smaller,
cheaper Quantum "Mini-Max", which has 3 outlets and costs
$20:

http://www.natural-stress-reduction.com/stress-relief-products.html

Quantum Products makes stronger products than these, but
you may find that a combination of smaller, cheaper products
is "good enough".

In my own case, I found that while the Quantum Products were
helpful, they were not a complete solution, so I've tried
dozens of other products alone and in combination with others.
In the end (so far), I've gone with the less powerful
Quantum Products (the above mentioned products plus a
portable Quantum Companion) combined with the less powerful
items from Springlife Polarity:

http://choosecra.com/htmlpages/homepage/prodinfo/springlife.html

Specifically, I use the smaller OM and Lifeforce pendants.
These were designed to be worn around your neck, but I either
place them in my pant pocket, or even better is to put them
on a table or something a few feet away from you, in the
general direction of whatever is causing you problems. So
I'll put them in front of my computer monitor, in between
me and the TV, on the nightstand next to my radio/alarm,
in the cupholder in my car, etc.

Note that I had rather a severe initial reaction to many
of these devices, in terms of an initial detox reaction
(fatigue, nausea, etc.). That took me a couple weeks
to get through, and then after that I could use them
for EMF protection. Also note that if you cats or
other pets, you may find that they will react if you
start using too many of these in the house (e.g, if
you place a polarizer on your fusebox to treat your
entire house, or if you use a Quantum Home unit).
Look for vomiting, non-use of the litter box, etc.
Cats seem to be more sensitive to these devices
than people are, and I've had to limit my use
of these in my house to the smaller items because
of this.

...oh, and as for the burning symptoms you're experiencing, Deb,
have you ever tried taking Evening Primrose Oil supplements?
I found that this has helped me. I later replaced this with the
borage oil skin lotion, as this had a more immediate and
noticeable effect. But they both were helpful, and both seem
to have the same active ingredient -- Gamma Linolenic Acid.

Also, antioxidants have been helpful for my burning face
symptoms, although mostly only the ones which advertise
themselves as being "thousands of times stronger" than
Vitamin C (e.g., Mega-H, Amrit).

Another thing to possibly look at is foods which are high
in easily-absorbed potassium or magnesium. I've found
that a banana or avocado or prune (all organic, of course!)
can be a good "quick fix" for burning skin.
