Hi everyone
This was a difficult thread to accurately describe but I hope someone out there can help with this one. My sister has a room at the top of her house which she has just refurbished - the plan is that I will sleep there when I go to visit her and her kids. It is a dormer room built in to the top of the roof and has a flat roof and external walls on three sides. The outside of the room was previously clad in asbestos but she got this removed and it is now clad in aluminium panelling - would this be a good place for me to sleep? would the aluminium shield me from EMF or make it worse [there are cell towers nearby linked to the police station which is not far from her house]. Any thoughts would be welcome TIA Steph |
The aluminum may make things worse. I live in a mobile home that has aluminum siding on the outer walls. Once I put up more insulation on the inside walls and then put ceramic tiles on top of that it became okay to live in.

You would probably benefit from having a sheilded bed canopy but if you have dirty power in the mains the canopy will have to be very large so that you are well away from the material. I would suspect that a canopy is great if you have the power off at the mains breaker and you are well away from neighbours wiring. puk [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

Maybe better, may be worse. Remember, in general, the higher you go the greater the ambient RF intensity. Furthermore, the aluminum siding, can incease the levels inside the home or it can decrease it. Depends on many factors. You should make measurements. That is the only way to know. Hi, Steph,
I contacted a building biologist about this when we were considering buyingan aluminum sided house. She said that the siding might help to shield from emfs if it were grounded (attaching wires to the siding on each side and running them to a grounding rod). Since we did not end up buying this house, tho, I cannot say whether this works or not. But try grounding the siding if you are reacting badly before tearing it out or doing something more drastic. I personally find that heavy aluminum foil helps me in various situations. But remember also that we all react to different frequencies, so what works for me, doesn't necessarily work for you. (And aluminum foil doesn't work for me either in all situations.) If the aluminum siding is up already, don't get upset. Try it out and see. Try grounding it if it doesn't feel good. Also, the building biologist suggested aluminum wire screens on the windows (to create an aluminum buffer or such all over the outside of the house). So you might try some aluminum cooking foil (or just go straight to screening) over the outside of the windows to see if you see any remediation from this. If thefoil helps, then you can buy aluminum screening and be sure to install it (and the foil if you test with that) on the outside of the window frame so it touches the siding all around. If I understood the blding biologistcorrectly, this is necessary. If the room doesn't feel good to you initially or after grounding the siding--the windows could still be a source of problems if you don't do something for them. Hope this makes sense now and helps you, ;) Diane --- On Sun, 1/11/09, Stephanie Smith <[hidden email]> wrote: From: Stephanie Smith <[hidden email]> Subject: [eSens] aluminium on outside of a room To: [hidden email] Date: Sunday, January 11, 2009, 6:24 PM Hi everyone This was a difficult thread to accurately describe but I hope someone out there can help with this one. Very interesting Diane. As I was reading one article, I suddenly had a
thought. When I was little, I drank turpentine/paint thinner. I had to go to the hospital (of course!), and I was wondering if this has mercury in it? Does anybody know? Hi again, Marc and All,
I have always had problems with candida, too (tho I didn't know anything about this at all till around the 1980s when the Yeast Connection books came out). I was impressed by these sites I sent on the connection between mercury and candida because they actually cover how candida produces a type of mercury biproduct that is as bad or worse than mercury for the body. I always have horrible die-off symptoms, even when I do not take strong anti-fungals, to irradicate the yeast. And, I too, seem never to getto the end of the bug killing--I have to revisit it often even tho I am gluten and sugarfree and seldom ever even eat gf bread with yeasts in it, etc. And I have often wondered whether the bug killing actually makes me worse ES-wise. It seems that I get worse during a routine kill-off of the infernal beasts. Do any other ESers out there notice this? Hi, Amy,
I don't know whether they would contain mercury, but they would have very toxic affects to your body and lymphatic system, in particular, for sure! I am surprised you didn't die from ingesting it! I do know that older paints (say prior to 1980ish) had alot of mercury in the pigments, but I do not know of a connection between mercury and paint thinner.
