If anyone has a Xbox 360 and sensitive to Wifi: The front of the box on the left side emits high amounts of radiation, all the time, 24/7, even when turned off.
I have opened mine up and removed the antenna inside, it's a very tedious process, but it reduces the emissions very significantly down to almost 0. I have been radiated by this thing for hundreds of hours unknowingly, and had my face burn from it every single time I was watching TV, thinking it's the TV doing it. Hope this helps someone. Someone actually took the time to make a video on it, that seems to be the only resource available other than my own tests. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuhZkIg5rEQ&t=295s |
I have an xbox one and was thinking of selling the thing. My health improved so much until I bought the stupid thing because I didn't thoroughly measure it in the beginning. When set up by ethernet the Xbox one sends out really strong pulses about twice per minute no matter what the settings are, even in offline mode. I didn't realize this because I only measured for about 30 seconds got nothing and thought "oh great it doesn't emit!" After 2 months my health deteriorated, and now a year later I'm still not where I was at before I bought the xbox!! :( I wonder if its worth fixing... problem I also had with it is the wired controller emits SO MUCH dirty electricity it was unbelievable!!! The electric field is very strong. The Xbox one seems to use a lot of power and is not very clean with its electricity usage and the fields it emits.. another thing to think about... even if fixed it might not be worth keeping due to that alone :(

"I have an xbox one and was thinking of selling the thing. My health improved so much until I bought the stupid thing because I didn't thoroughly measure it in the beginning.... It's not gone already?? My grandson sneaks the thing on upstairs when I visit (Mom says that all wireless devices are to be turned off when Grandma visits). I'm in the lower level of the house and feel the thing - not sure how long it takes - but it feels
like a painful worm inside my temple along with feelings of anxiety. I have a slightly ES relative who says that she cannot sleep when an Xbox is left plugged in, and that's a slightly ES person, so imagine how it might affect a very sensitive person. Lol, no it hasn't been used for about 10 months. I just haven't gotten around to listing it for sale :P

The 360 seems worse than the One. It emits constantly, no pulses, regardless of ethernet, no ethernet, on or off. Also the antenna is a square golden metal piece, right on the front of the unit beneath the plastic, so the waves are directed straight to whoever is in front the unit. About 7 feet from the unit where the couch is, it was still in the yellow zone on my cornet ED88T meter. I'll measure the controller since I never thought of that, but we mostly use kinect so I hardly ever hold the controller.
I'm just baffled as to why it's still transmitting when the thing is off. I've never seen anything like it. |
I also have a PS4 which is so much better, the bluetooth emitted from the system fades to practically nothing only a few feet away. You can even use a wired controller and cover the PS4 or Xbox with an emf blocking sheet which works quite well. I have a real problem with the wired controllers though so when I use the PS4 I use a wireless controller which also doesn't emit much except within about a foot of the controller. So I covered the controller with emf blocking material, and I wear gloves and put a protective sheet between me and the controller. This seems to block about 90%. You can block almost 100% if you go with the wired controller and cover the system with an emf protective sheet, but I'm actually more sensitive to the wired controller because they can give off 300-500 when I test it for electric fields where your hands make contact which is very very high for something you are holding in your hand. Its almost as bad as holding a hair dryer except for hours if you play a lot :/

I don't trust the Cornet meter's color level indicators to show what "hurts". It only begins to measure when exposure is in milliwatt/m2 (mw/m2) range levels. Using another meter that measures in microwatt/m2 (uw/m2), I know that I feel the pulses at levels
far below the Cornet's 'green' range and would not do well spending much time in that 'safe' area. From: sailplane [via ES] <ml-node+[hidden email]>

You're right Fog Top, the cornet isn't very accurate. I also had a HF32D that I compared with it, so I know what the Cornet can and can't do. It's not a precision instrument, but if it's in the yellow, it's surely not good. I drove around Toronto a few days ago with it on, and almost everywhere you go, especially on all the highways it was in the yellow 60-70% of the time. Back 10 years ago, it was nothing like this, but cell towers popped up all over the place.
I just bought a Toshiba 43" 4K TV only to find out the Wifi cannot be turned off, and it doesn't turn off even it the ethernet cable is plugged in. Returning it soon.. It's not just the xbox that does this, now most TVs probably do it. |

I had same problem with my TV, bought one with an ethernet plug in and had no idea you couldn't turn off the wifi until it was too late to take it back :/ All devices are different though, the emf from the TV is minimal because the signal goes straight out the back of the TV, whereas the xbox one radiates a HUGE pulse similar to a wifi router a couples times per minute. Those high peak signals are usually the worst for people. I actually took a video of the xbox one vs ps4 using about 5 different meters. I need to post it...
