VDU POSITION

PUK
Has anyone tried to turn thier monitor slightly to the side to veiw it I am
sure that this leads to less effects perhaps the invertor throws waves out
at mainly at 90degrees ?

ps My laptop died, normally viewed 1.5m away using zoom software, so I am
back on the desktop with 17inch dell lcd monitor hence the above, but the
difference is clear as this old croc fries me good and proper ! If I take the
AM radio near the mouse and keyboard the nasty sound that is picked up on
the desktop tower is coming out of the keyboard/mouse so there we have it -
shame that we cannot filter post power supplysay with a stetzer type
filter fitted at usb ports ?

You could try using ferrites on the USB cables...

There is an aspect, not many are aware of.

Dirty power, or simple VLF frequencies can come from the mains electricity
net, from the outside, or inside your house self made. Some electrical
appliances can fire back VLF into the mains.

But a number of electrical appliances, lik f.i. LCD TV's do not send back
VLF into the mains, but radiate it into space.
And there those filters are no help, because these filters only work into
the mains.

Re: VDU POSITION

I agree that if there's dirty power, then any ELF generating appliance,
including a monitor, will couple it into the room. But this is a situation
where a filter, on the same phase and close to the power panel,
can help (assuming the impedance of the source is not too high, which
would require multiple filters)

Re: VDU POSITION

Hello Bill,

I must contradict you here.

You may place a hunderd filters in the mains, it does not prevent the
emission of VLF frequencies into the room, into the space.

I have tested that before.

Re: VDU POSITION

BiBrun
Few filters will do anything at VLF frequencies.
