Siemens Eco DECT

sailplane
I've been looking for a low EMF DECT Phone.
In my search I've read that Siemens makes Eco Dect and Eco Dect Plus, which is supposed to be 0 EMF when not in use.

I found the A510(eco Dect) model in the local classifieds and went to the person's house to measure it. The radiation is horrible, and the Eco Mode is nowhere to be found in the Settings menu, as the manual indicates.

It seems like Siemens is overstating what their phones do. It says the A510 automatically adjusts power, but it was not the case at all. 1900mW at the handset right next to the base!

Some Amazon reviews also indicate that the statements don't match up with actual measurements.

Even NoRad4u.com recommends the A510 here:

Which is surprising.. The person had the original box with manual and everything

Anyone had any luck finding something that actually works?..

Hello
This is Amir from www.norad4u.com
In some of the phones I bought before for other people, the ECO DECT & ECO DECT PLUS mode operation was not in the right place in the setup menu.
In the user manual it is noted that the ECO DECT mode and the ECO PLUS mode configuration is right after "System". If I am not mistaken( and remember correctly) it is actually under "System"
Setting-->System--ECO DECT & ECO DECT PLUS.
If you can film you going over the setup I might be able to pointout were the ECO DECT & ECO DECT PLUS configuration is hidden.
Please also note that in some US models this feature was removed. But if the cover say it exist, then I am guessing it is just hidden.
Please let me know how it goes.
All the best
Amir Borenstein

I hope this info helps.
Thanks and best regards

Update:
I called Siemens.
There is NO North American model with Eco mode PLUS.
So if you want that, you have to buy one straight from Germany with the wall adapters.
There are good options like C430A on ebay.

Re: Siemens Eco DECT

*Eco DECT* means that the device is saving energy, but the radiation is 100%, so full.
*Eco mode DECT* , but the radiation is 80% less.
*Eco Mode PLUS DECT* means that the radiation is 100% less

So the only good DECT is Eco Mode Plus
See that in the manual the PLUS is mentioned, and installed accordingly.

You can order a Siemens Gigaset A540A Eco Dect corderless phone from Amazon via Italy for under $80. It'll take almost a month to get it though. Has anyone ordered one of these from anywhere?

http://www.emfrf.com claims Siemen's is bringing the phones to the U.S. market but no date.

I was looking for Eco Dect PLUS.. But I think A540A does have it, in the European version only though.
But, Europe phones run on a different frequency which is supposedly not allowed in North America..

So, I doubt anyone will come knocking on your door.. but technically you're not supposed to use it.  And caller ID may not work?

No caller ID would be a deal breaker.

I asked a few sellers and none said they had anyone complaining, but none could verify that it will work.  Siemens couldn't either.  I think some of the phones will, some won't.
