I live in a van, maybe that's an option for you?

Are you able to live only in northern CA or could you move out of state?

Well it's possible to get a minivan for $3-4 thousand and live in it if you don't have much stuff.  That's what I did.  Pay anything less and it's likely to have mechanical issues.  Make sure to take any used van to a good mechanic for an inspection before you actually buy it. I bought a lemon for $2900 and put another $2000 into it for repairs when it started having problems.

My place in Colorado will be open for camping soon (rent or work trade, I'm flexible). No ammenities (digging an outhouse soon and the well will be running), very remote area with low cell signal. You could probably camp here in a van or drop by if you needed a place for a few nights along your journey. Also there are some properties in this valley for sale cheap.

I live in a van in a southern California city.   I have my windows tinted with EMF blocking tint. Helps tremendously but still not enough in high areas.

Can you give me an idea of what "cheap" is?   Also how much does digging a well cost?  Some places here California costs an arm and a leg for a well. Like about 30k in the Joshua tree desert.  With you were closer to CA.  I think I will be needing refuge soon the way my sensitivity is increasing.

Likewise in AZ. I've heard figures like $15-20k for having a well professionally drilled there, but it depends on the local geology. The worst is having a hard rock layer 20 feet underground.
