School issues

KathyB

Well the principle called. They will plug him in.

They need an ethernet to USB adaptor.

They
are writing a contract that states no assignments will be done w wi-fi,
since they're  new contract for parents to sign states using wi-fi.

They're checking his classrooms for routers. If there are any, he will get a new class.

So, I'm very relieved.  It's not in my son's best interest to be home schooled for high school.

Still, he'll be made fun of for not using the wi-fi like everyone else.

And his exposure won't be reduced much, since everyone around
him will still be using the wi-fi.

They can  make fun of him now. He has autism. still rocks on his feet sometimes. We can't fix all his sensory issues, or haven't been able to.

He's verbal, can carry on aconversation. Scored advanced on the state's science test. Almost at proficient on others.

Yes he will be still be exposed

But isn't it less not using a laptop wi-fi?

Well, is he going to be surrounded by other kids using
the wi-fi on their laptops?  If so, then the reduction in
exposure isn't much.

Now, if there's nobody nearby using a wi-fi laptop, then
I agree that there would be significantly less exposure.

Re: School issues

Marc,

How far away would he need to be from a wi-fi active laptop?

Well, that's a question that perhaps has no good answer... :-)

We see people here who are sensitive to wi-fi signals even
when they are over 100 feet away.

However, that's not nearly as bad as using a wi-fi laptop,
where the transmitter is only a few inches away from your
hands.

So I guess I'd have to say, the further away, the better.

When I'm on travel and have to use wi-fi myself for
internet access, I use a USB extension cable for the
wi-fi (or 3G) transmitter/receiver.  At the airports, I
typically put the transmitter/receiver 5 feet away from
me.  At the hotel, I typically put it 15 feet away from me.

Marc,

Thanks for your help. My son feels  very mild symptoms,  but naturally I don't want them to increase. He feels mild sensations & a mild headache.

I"m going to look at his vitamins * nutritional needs.

You can get him a Resonator Pendant on earthcalm.ca
It helps me alot.  Sometimes it takes some time tho. It won't protect him overnight but it's worth a try.  They do have a return policy.  In the US it's earthcalm.com.  I'm in Canada.
