A while back I saw a post about a couple of cell phone models deemed safer, but can't locate that info now. Any new info on what models of cell or better yet smart/droid phones (sorry, I'm not sure of the lingo) have the lowest emissions? Thanks.

This may not be the best place to ask about safe smart phones.
I'd guess that the folks on this group either: 1) don't own a cellphone 2) if they do, it's probably NOT a smart phone (as these things are nasty) That said, my personal impression of the phones used by the people around me is that iPhones are the worst. Marc |
I'm with Marc - no cell phone is a safe cell phone. To me as well, iPhones
are the worst. That said, if you need something like this (for work or whatever) get something that you can usually have in airplane mode - that way you can schedule and everything, then take it off airplane mode a couple times a day to check messages, etc. Or check voice messages from a landline. This is what I would do if I needed a cell for work - luckily, I don't. My employer is not thrilled about my being "out of range" unless I'm home, but is understand and doesn't demand this sacrifice of me. Good luck finding what you need! -Amanda On Tue, Mar 27, 2012 at 11:52 AM, Marc Martin <[hidden email]> wrote: > ** > > > This may not be the best place to ask about safe smart phones. > I'd guess that the folks on this group either: > > 1) don't own a cellphone > 2) if they do, it's probably NOT a smart phone (as these > things are nasty) > > That said, my personal impression of the phones used by > the people around me is that iPhones are the worst. > > Marc > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ Yahoo! Thanks, this is the best place to ask, for all the reasons you have given! :)
I have suspected smart phones would be harsher, but didn't know about "airport" option. I often drive long distances with my child in sometimes not so great areas, and payphones are hard to come by. In addition a lot of our homeshooling aquaintances are texting or emailing as a way to connect about last minute activity changes...sigh. Maybe the cell phone I misplaced will just show up again. |

It's little processor is still running, and doing things on it's own. If you have a noisy phone, then it is likely to be generating emissions like I have tested and videoed. I have added AVI and MP3 files to my page: http://seahorseCorral.org/ehs1.html#phones Even turning this model off, does not remove all emissions, as it still checks often to see if you have pressed the on button. Removing the battery is the only safe thing to do when you are electro-sensitive. Stewart |

Yes, that's the problem with "Smart" phones -- in order to be "Smart", they have a larger display and increased computing power -- both of which create additional EMF that causes bad reactions. That's why I like "Dumb" phones, with small screens and no capabilities other than making phone calls. Marc |
Good one, Marc!On another thought: Can you imagine whatit would be like, if people only used theircell phones for true emergencies, and keptthem off, when not in use? It will be like the cancer big businessindustry- when people finally realize there are tons ofnatural cures for cancer. Not to mention, with that muchless cell ph radiation activity, the cancer numbers will go down.Of course, mainstream scientists will shake their heads, notbeing able to figure out the connection. Chuckles about cancer industry! (I'm an osteopathic physician who would first go to functional medicine, homeopathy, etc. unless it was immediately life-threatening.)
Yes, no "safe" cell; that's why I'm looking for "saf-er". It's frustrating that ratings seem to show older not really available models with best bet of lower emissions. For now I've found my cell, but am not surprised that although older it's in the mid higher range of lists; I guess that's why my most comfortable use is hands off with speaker on. Thanks for the info that cell still emits when off - I've suspected as much. |

Yes, iPhone is the worst of all.
I don't even use 'dumb' mobiles. Amanda Kolter wrote thus at 10:00 28/03/2012: >I'm with Marc - no cell phone is a safe cell phone. To me as well, iPhones >are the worst.
