RADIOWAVES FROM LCD SCREEN

PUK
Paul Uk wonders ?
Who wants to have a stab at this one - I n my search for a LCD screen that I
can tolerate I have borrowed yet another. Checking with Trifeild meter
reveled fairly low emf, but a high pulsating electrical feild at the on/off switch
button, ignoring that in close proximity to the switch I detected a radio
wave with the Trifeild at around 0.15mw/cm2 ? Why ? Does this not say it all
that most LCDs laptops etc are giving this off in shed loads, mostly at levels
far less than the Trifeild can detect, however I repeat on this ocassion it
picked up 0.15mw/cm2 !

Hello Paul,

a Trifield meter is nice, but not good enough.

I have measured some Plasma and LCD TV's.
With special meters.
Horrible.
Philips with backlight, Samsung, Panasonice.

Mostly there are 30-60 kHz signals, where electrosensibles may strongly
react to.

Hi Charles do you not think it unusual to get the radio wave measurement
with the trifeild, I have never experienced this before with any other
equipment, as you say the trifeild is not best placed to detect rf from such equipment
?

Hello Paul,

the Trifield is not suited for measuring radio waves properly.

Re: RADIOWAVES FROM LCD SCREEN

I've only ever seen the trifield RF mode respond to microwave ovens.
Was there a Wi-Fi signal on perhaps? Or, do you have the "broadband
trifield"?
I was just reading about it and I think if one is going to get a trifield
the
broadband option is probably worth it (still not very sensitive, but at
least covers
freqs from 60 Hz-2.5 GHz.

What is it with you all?
Are you married to Trifield?

If you want to measure radio waves, there are better meters on the market.

There does not exist a meter that can measure from 60 Hz to 2,5 GHz.

Re: RADIOWAVES FROM LCD SCREEN

BiBrun
I don't think I'd be using a TriField if I lived in Europe. But it does
have some things
going for it:

* Analog display with the right amount of damping. This is very nice for
sweeping an area and
understanding what's going on.

* Not expensive--especially compared to other analog meters.

* Uni-axial mode available, but omni-directional by default.

* Good build quality.

* Good battery life (but no auto-off function--remember to turn it off!).

* Good customer service, at least in the US.

It has faults too:

- 20% accuracy at best

- not very sensitive (although they sell a 100x probe for magnetic fields-
but I think
the magnetic field sensitivity is just about good enough without it).

- a little too bulky to fit in most pockets.

- no auto-off

Note that LessEMF also bills it as one of their favorites, and Ed Leeper in
Silencing the Fields
confirms most of the above points (although perhaps emphasizes more the poor
accuracy).

But let us know if there is something better for under $150!

The point is that it seemd unusual for the trifeild to register on the
radiowave scale when used against and LCD screen !!??

0.15mw/cm2 seems to be on the high end for
an LCD screen, but not outrageous. The reading
will be higher if your holding the meter in your hand.

The monitor I'm working on emits just 0.003 uw/cm2
max. That's using a Trifield 'RF Field strength Meter'

I like my Trifield 100XE. If you see the needle
move a hairs width on the "radio/microwave" scale then
you know to stay away. It'll pick up RF from cell towers
as you drive by one. If you want more sensitivity/accuracy
you'll have to pay up.

The EMF emissions from three LCD monitors are compared here:

The 100xe is what I have with an alarm. needless to say I have not continued
to
use the offending monitor as it muzzd me out big time.

I went into a pub yesterday minding my own business for a drink with my
father and brother, within 1minute of being in the pub I could feel high emf, I
was looking round for clues but saw nothing obvious, said to my brother that I
would only stay for a pint, he got anoyed when he learned of my reason, I got
anoyed at his reaction and turning to leave I saw whar must have been a WIFI
router on the ceiling just above my head. I left with a great fury in my
belly, that is when my legs felt thier normal weight again ! The net is
closing for the ES in this town anyway ! How many battles have started with the
premise - "I will not be driven from my land !"

Jaime, maybe YOU need to be a little more self centered and say that
you don't want to eat at the bar.
