I bought a Quantum Power Conditioner (Power Sentry surge protector),
plugged it in and almost immediately began to feel TERRIBLE.

Says on the box it is the "Office Workstation" type. Is this the one
you guys use?

Also says their surge protectors have been re-engineered with "new V3
Technology."

Marc, I know you said you had a bad effect with one, and good with
another. Are the older ones better, or is it just "Russian Roulette"
when buying one of these?

If I recall correctly, when I first got these things, there was
a period of adjustment for me. That is, I was flat on my back
on the couch feeling exhausted and nauseous for a day or two.
Then I was fine.

For me, it's the stronger models (Quantum Home, Quantum Pro) that
still make me feel bad after several hours of close exposure.

One good thing about these items is that if they are too strong,
you can adjust your exposure to them pretty easily. That is,
you can only turn them on for only an hour a day, then two hours,
etc. Or, if it's too strong when it's 5 feet away from you, try
it at 10 feet, 15 feet, 20 feet, etc. Or plug it into a circuit
that doesn't have much else power usage.

Initially, I noticed that one power strip in the house affected
the energy in the entire house, but the Quantum salesperson was
amazed that anybody could be that sensitive.

Someone else on the list reported having problems with offgassing
of the plastics on one of the newer power strips, so I sold her
one of my old ones, and she didn't have any difficulties with that.

Is the "V3" technology something associated with Quantum Products,
or is it associated with Power Sentry? (I hope they haven't
gone and wrecked a perfectly good product)

I have found with the Stetzer filters and the Quantum Power Condition
that if the wiring of the neutrals is incorrect, the neutral is
overloaded and magnetic fields are kicked up around the wires (all
along them).
Check the wiring in the walls and floors with a gauss meter before and
after you plug in the QPC and if the magnetic field increases, then you
most likely have a neutral wire problem.

I have corrected this condition to a large extent in my house by using

as an advisor and working with with a local electrician.

Answering my own question, "V3" is a surge-protection thing
from Power Sentry, so I don't think that has anything to do
with the treatment applied by Quantum Products.

I assume your power strip looks like this, John?

You can also buy a cheap outlet tester which will show you
if your outlets are wired correctly. I just used this
in the new house I'm moving into, and 3 of the outlets
were wired wrong.

Can you give the name of this outlet tester that you use. I'd like to get
one of those. Where can I buy one on the net? Do you know? Thanks.

I got mine online from LessEMF.com, but I suspect that you might
find one in a local hardware store (?)

Anyway, here's a link:

What I bought is titled "3-wire circuit analyzer", for
US$6.95.

Does the outlet tester from LessEMF.com come with instructions on how to
use it?

Everything you need to know is on the label of the tester itself!
(basically it has 3 lights on it, and you can tell what's right
or wrong with the outlet depending on which combination of lights
go on when you plug it into an outlet)

My Quantum surge protector was initially not grounded properly.
Once grounded it seemed more tolerable to be around. It's still
too strong, but I think it may be helping me a little.
