I recently spoke w/a CAD teacher at local college. She said that at
her job she has plasma monitors which are softer & easier on eyes. I wonder if those emit much less EMFs & if so, why I only see those huge plasma TVs on the market but no 15" plasma computer monitors. (rhetorical)

I remember walking through an audio/video store a few years ago, and the big plasma monitors were horrible -- my skin was getting all prickly within a minute or two, and from a fair distance too. These seem to be worse (for me) than CRTs or LCDs... Marc |

Why would this be do you think? Any idea how they work?

But there are of course websites which explain how they work: http://www1.us.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/lcd_tv?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~section=002a So there is electricity involved (of course). Of course, if I'll react to my badge at work, I have the potential to react to *anything*... :-) Marc |

Hmm...interesting thanks. Seems like it works a bit like TV with separate points of light, but this would prob only affect the eyes. Perhaps the plasma creates an augmented files of EMR...?
Just speculating. The scientists and engineers would have a better idea. Thanks Marc! Just comes to show how the world is full of hype.
Which has yet to be ironed out. --- In [hidden email], Marc Martin <marc@u...> wrote: > minnimall wrote: > > I recently spoke w/a CAD teacher at local college. Note that when I was reading the recommendations on the Stetzer filters, they recommended adding 3 filters for every plasma monitor, which is more than they recommend for a CRT monitor. Also, I know that plasma monitors consume more power than a CRT, so this all adds up to being potentially worse for someone with ES. Marc |
