Plane old landline vs VOIP

thero
I'm curious about anyone else's experience with landlines and VOIP services. Did you notice any difference in sensitivity to the phone when switching from landline to VOIP? I currently use a wired, unpowered handset.

I use VOIP, no problems..
I think a non-voip line could carry currents as much as a VOIP one could.

It all depends on your power supply to the voip box and the internet connection which could also put noise into your VOIP box.  I don't have any problem with it. What you can do is get a VOIP box and try it out while keeping your phone line. If it doesn't work for you, return the box.

I use the Grandstream HT-502 and I was using voip.ms for a while... there's definitely some tweaking involved in making it work through a router though, and some routers may not allow VOIP through properly.  There are guides that help you set up all the configs in the box.

I use a Tiptel 220 VoIP.
No problem at all.

However I have once seen a newer model, which gave a lot of elektrosmog.
