Other Lists or Activist Groups?

Katrina
Hi,
Marc said I can ask a question here...I am looking for
other ESens lists or groups, (or any in the UK.) ?

Specifically, for an alert to an action at a UK
college lecture by Psychiatrist Simon Wessely, whose
psych oriented "research" is being seen as
increasingly more definitive in the WHO's statements
on EMFs.
(In addition to his Psych influence regarding
ME/CFS/MCS/GWS/Chemicals, and WMDs.)
And growing number of Clinics to administer Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy ("stop *thinking* you are ill")
for all of the above. He also has alot of influence
with the US Govt.

I can post about SW and the Lecture/Action if you
want.
An SW paper is in the archives here.

Thank you for directing me to the groups,

Katrina

Hi, Katrina,

I have no info regarding your question, however, have a comment about thepsychiatrist. I believe he was the same psychiatrist who did "research" and came up with a program about 10 years ago for ppl with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/(ME in the UK). His "findings" skipped the "pond" and ended up over here in the US, too. Not suprisingly his whole protocol and findings were the same for CFS/ME as you mention here. SO TYPICAL!

Meanwhile, I cured myself of CFS/liver dysfunction/and another dozen plusserious health problems with a combination of eating differently (gluten free/sugar free/sweetener free/processed food free) and taking various nutritional supplementation. I have been able to either completely cure or control all my health problems except my hand tremor (so far--still working on that one) using only supplementation and food elimination! And I was very ill from birth.

Interestingly, I have heard that the WHO has a program they are hoping topush thru (heard it was going to come down the pike in 2007) whereby they are going to ban OTC sales of nutritional supplements worldwide. I have seen an online document that they supposedly put out stating this. What a travesty if this is allowed to happen! The sugar lobbiests, etc, work to kill us and the WHO gives them the ammunition and ok to go ahead and do it. OK, now I am on a rant. Sorry. This all makes me very angry.

My 2 cents,
Diane

Hello,

I want to put my 4 cents in the pot.

Two books may help a lot in explaining.

1. Amalgam Illness by Andrew Cutler
2. Lyme Disease and Rife machines: When antibiotics fail.
See: http://www.lymebook.com/

A lot of diseases may have a Lyme background!

Apparently there has been groups trying to ban supplements for decades,
but they have not been very successful -- at least where I live.
On one list I subscribe to, someone was trying to convince us all
that all supplements would dissappear off the shelves in August 2005.
Well, August 2005 came and went, and nothing happened...

If one is very concerned about supplements going away, then I suppose
one should focus on trying out various foods for healing. It
seems much less likely that there will be a ban on these. For healing
purposes, one should probably focus on organic foods, and also in
many cases eating things raw is more helpful (although in some cases
cooking, steaming, or fermenting may produce better results)

RE: Other Lists or Activist Groups - Electrosensitivity UK

Ian Kemp

Hi Katrina,

Do you already know about the Electrosensitivity webpage and group in the
UK? See www.electrosensitivity.org.uk
<http://www.electrosensitivity.org.uk/> . This is a registered charity and
circulates a regular newsletter. Members are beginning to get some
attention from the media (a couple of recent radio interviews).

A recent experiment has been a couple of people who have rented a cottage in
a remote part of Wales with no mobile phone reception, and a number of us
met there over the last couple of days - it was good to meet other people
who suffer from or are interested in both ES and MCS. The "psychiatric
attitude" was one of the things which came up in discussion, not
surprisingly!

RE: Supplements - ban?

Ian Kemp
In reply to this post by Marc Martin
There has been quite a lot said over this side of the pond about the
possibility of the EU requiring "natural" remedies and supplements to go
through clinical trials for effectiveness and side-effects, just like
pharmaceutical drugs. Obviously this would increase their cost
substantially and some items might be lost from the market. However it is
controversial and there are strong lobbies on both sides, so nothing has
happened as yet.
