A few weeks ago I posted a report of my success in using oolitic limestone to help me with my sensitivity to EMF. I feel obliged to respond to some of the discussion that has resulted. Firstly, some people appear to have concluded that since oolitic limestone consists of calcium carbonate, that therefore any form of calcium carbonate would have the same effect. This is a faulty assumption. There are many forms of limestone. For a rock to qualify as a limestone, it is only necessary that it consist of at least fifty per cent calcium carbonate. All forms of limestone contain quantities of other minerals. Any form of limestone is mixture of different minerals, much as a wine is a blend of different grapes. A merlot wine is not produced purely from merlot grapes, it is produced from a blend of different grapes, with merlot grapes being the chief constituent. LIkewise, calcium carbonate is only the chief constituent of any limestone. Calcium carbonate is also known as calcite, and it has the chemical formula of CaCO3. But all forms of calcium carbonate do not have the same effect. I have lived on the coast of south Florida for over twenty years now, and my home is filled with huge amounts of coral rock and sea shells that I found on the beaches here. Coral rock and sea shells consist mostly of calcium carbonate--just like oolitic limestone. I must have over two hundred pounds of calcium carbonate in the form of coral rock and shells, all around my house, including many pounds of it beside my bed. And this form of calcium carbonate has never helped me with my sensitivity to EMF. But having a mere two pounds of oolitic limestone in my pockets all day and beside my body at night has had an extraordinary effect. It is not calcium carbonate per se that is benefitting me, but something about the particular crystalline structure that the calcium carbonate assumes in the formation of oolitic limestone. Diamonds and graphite (pencil lead) both consist of carbon. But the properties and the effects of diamonds and graphite are very different. This difference results from the different crystalline structures that carbon assumes in the formation of diamonds and graphite. Likewise with the different forms of limestone--they have different structural forms and different properties. Again, there are different forms of oolitic limestone, and we should not automatically assume that they will all have the same effects. We must experiment.
One person posting here stated that she intended to reduce the oolitic limestone to a powder form, and fill bags with this powder. I suspect that doing this might destroy the very structural properties that cause this rock to have this beneficial effect. Snoshoe asked me to send him some oolitic limestone, which I did. He reported benefits from using the rock, but he also said that he detected gamma radiation coming from the rock. He did not explain how he determined the presence of gamma radiation, and I was amazed by the suggestion that this rock might be producing any kind of harmful radiation. South eastern Florida consists almost entirely of oolitic limestone. Those of us who live here are sitting on top of a gigantic slab, consisting of trillions of tons of oolitic limestone. Many of the original houses in Miami were built out of oolitic limestone. If there was any harmful radiation coming off this rock, people could not live here, and we would certainly have discovered the presence of any such harmful radiation long ago. I believe we can safely assume that there is no harmful level of radiation of any kind coming off this rock. I was a bit concerned by Jill's posting because she is apparently using rather large quantities of oolitic limestone. I myself had very unpleasant effects when I slept with about twelve pounds of this rock right beside me. I had to go back to using the mere two pounds of the rock that I started with. Two pounds seems to protect me adequately. Even lugging two pounds of it around all day can be quite a chore, but carrying the quantities Jill is using would be totally impractical in the long term. And Jill says that it would be expensive to ship this rock around the country. Well, if somebody wanted to ship fifty pounds of this rock (like the fifty pounds that Jill bought), that would be expensive. But if somebody wanted to experiment with just a few pounds, that does not cost much at all. I sent two pounds of this rock to Snoshoe using one of the US Post Office's flat rate boxes. It cost just over eleven dollars, and the box itself was free. In fact, I could have put five or six pounds of the rock in that same box for the same price. So the shipping costs shouldn't stop anyone from experimenting here, and the rock itself costs just pennies per pound. |
Between 2003 and 2004 I took my elderly parents to the Indianapolis, Indiana area for NAET Treatments. The doctor (MD 80+yr old) had asthma his entire life ... some time in the 1990's his children purchased him a plane ticket and NAET treatments for Christmas. He was so impressed he took the training and became a practitioner.
We go to an appointment one day and he is all excited, tested my parents for building materials and told the following story ... he had to attend a conference in southern Indiana, didn't want to go, but had made a committement. He noticed while he was sitting in a conference room for several hours he felt really good. The NAET treatments helped his asthma, but he still had trouble. Anyway, he continued to feel good and his breathing was significantly improved even on the long drive home. Gets home and within a half hour he starts having breathinng problems and doesn't feel so good any more. After thinking about it for days, he came to the conclusion it was the building where the conference was held ... that building was an old municipal building, constructed with Indiana Limestone. He did not have any NAET testing vials for building materials so he made his own ... he tested and discovered he is allergic to brick ... his home was made of brick. My mother tested positive for marble, lived in a house full of antiques with marble top; tables, buffet, sideboard, bedroom dresser). All this to say, I don't whether limestone emits gamma rays or anything else, but this doctor was not interested in any thing alternative until he found out what NAET could do for him ... if he said he felt better in a limestone building, I believe him. Southern Indiana he full of Limestone and there is even a very small town called Oolite. ________________________________ [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

My posts on the oolite are to inform people of what they may be
exposing themselves to unwittingly. At least they can go forward with that info. if they choose. I had sent you some links that showed it does indeed emit gamma. I also said I felt the radiation from it when I first got them, etc., which is what made me do a websearch on the stuff. Not saying the rock itself may not be on a right track to something. Thanks again for sending me. :) ~ Snoshoe (female) --- In [hidden email], "newrwb5432" <newrwb5432@...> wrote: > > A few weeks ago I posted a report of my success in using oolitic limestone to help me with my sensitivity to EMF. I appreciate all the comments about the limestone.
I carry a small rock in my purse at all times. I have a large piece- 3/4 lbs. permanently by my feet at the office. I have the larger chunks under my bed at all four corners. I also have two smaller bags beside me at night. When I get "hit" with excruciating pain, I place one of the bags at the site and in a few minutes the pain is gone. I used them last night - was hit in the head and on the veins in my right leg. Applied the rocks - pain disappeared. My friend found limited relief with the powdered limestone. I'll let you know about the EnergyMizer which reports that it stops 80% of the EMF coming into the home through the electricity. I just checked Federal Express and it should be here either today of Monday. Can't wait. My energy sensitive friend will know immediately if it works. I'll let you know what she says. |
Hi Jill,
I am very pleased to hear that the oolitic limestone is helping you with your pain. I didn't know it was good for pain as well. I have been using it just for my problems with electrical sensitivity. It seems to protect me completely from any of the effects I used to suffer from when exposed to any appreciable electrical environment. Does this rock help you with all of your usual reactions to an electrical environment, or just some of them? I am also curious to know whether you are using the exact same form of oolitic limestone as I am using. Is your rock a pure, chalky white? Or does it have some color to it--red, yellow or brown? Have you looked at the surface of the rock through a magnifying glass? Oolitic limestone has a quite unique structure. If you look at the surface of a clean piece of pure, white, oolitic limestone through a magnifying glass, you will see thousands of tiny, rounded structures. These are the oolites. This will tell us that you are using the same rock that has helped me. Richard, I made certain I have the same rock as you - very white, chalky with the oval shapes in it. The pain comes from the electrical spikes shooting through the air and hitting me. Usually, I get hit at night the most. I now have 3 bags by my bed and use them whenever I get "hit". It feels like someone is sticking huge needles into me and it can be quite excruciating. Last night was particularly bad and I was using them all night long. I put some of the rocks into a metalic bag and it seems to stop a different frequency of the spikes. I "intuitely" use a combination of the regular rocks and rocks in the metallic bag. Hi Jill,
You are right that sometimes we just have to follow our intuitions, our feelings, about how we deal with these problems. When you say that you put some of the rocks in a "metallic" bag, what sort of metal, or metals, is this bag made from? I haven't actually heard before of anyone having shooting pains as a result of electrical sensitivity. Are you sure that these pains are entirely due to the effect of the electrical environment? Some of the symptoms we experience are caused by a combination of factors, although the electrical environment is often a large part of the problem.
