New Form of Magnesium

Jim
Life Extension Foundation just published an article in the Feb.2012 issue about a new form of magnesium called magnesium-L-threonate.

I think this form could provide help for those of us who have experienced "brain problems" cascading from our EHS.

They say that researchers have found this particular form of magnesium concentrates more efficiently in the brain, rebuilds rupturerd synapses, and restores the degraded neuronal connections observed in Alzheimer's disease and other forms of memory loss.

This article cited the work of researchers at MIT.  There was 18% induced improvement for short-term memory and 100% for long-term memory.

Even though I use other forms of magnesium including the magnesium oil, I am going to give this a try.

They sell this form as well as some other companies if you do a search for it.

Hope this will be a help.

Thanks for the info. Let us know how it works for you.
The only thing I'd add here, is that using the Magnesium Chloride Oil transdermally, via the skin, bypasses the liver, thereby the liver does NOT have to digest it (if it is in pill form).

Re: New Form of Magnesium

Elizabeth thode

Hi Giorgio,
I buy my from  either www.ancientminerals.com or www.thepowermall.com
I use both the Magnesium Chloride Oil and the Magnesium Bath Salts.
We soak our feet in this 3-4 times a week, at a half hour each time. And of course you can add this to the bath and soak. Best to do before bed, as the Magnesium will help you sleep quite well.
I also have a 4oz glass spray bottle; I mix 30% pure Magnesium Chloride Oil to 70% filtered water; then I use this spray to spray under the tongue - doesn't tastes good, but hold it there for a minute or two, then rinse with water. Also, spray under arm pits, after shower, spray all over  body and let air dry. You can also add this diluted form to shampoo...restoring the body's stoers of Magnesium often reverses gray/silvering hair. For those just starting to use this form of Magnesium, it is best to DILUTE, as described above. Otherwise, using it straight can make the skin burn, this means too high/strong a dose. We've been using this form for a few years and have just recently been able to use it straight....mostly we rub it on our backs..even diluted, this stuff works great for those painful leg cramps! I used to keep my diluted spray bottle next to my bed, for just this purpose. I seldom have leg cramps anymore.
Also, for achy sore necks, spray the diluted on neck, and top of shoulder areas *- there are electrical points on shoulder areas, find by placing your hands on your shoulders on both sides of neck...use your fingers to probe and find that spot that hurts.....rub the Magnesium Oil on those areas, then cover with hot rag, then cover the hot rag with DRY towel, to keep the heat in...
this is a great way to take away both neck aches/back pain. Also rubbing this your feet and massaging your feet, the outer side of bottom of foot is the spine area. The big toe is thyroid neck area...and the baby toe and one next to it are ears. All I can say is: Try it!
Soaking the feet was the one remedy that always worked when my daughter would have severe ES symptoms- as Magnesium also helps restore the body's electrical balance. And speaking of this, did you know that the adrenal glands also play a huge role in regulating/balancing the body's electrical system?
Blessings,
Lizzie

Re: New Form of Magnesium

Elizabeth thode

So are all you people!
What a truly wonderful bunch of people on here!
To see how everyone jumps in to help, with all the various issues-
it is heartwarming and takes my breath away to see such compassion.
It's like a big buffet table, everybody brings something to the table to share.
Or like a really well stocked book store on ES.
Blessings and Victories Upon Victories Upon Victories!
Lizzie
