Need help

ESther
When my next door neighbors go out out of town, they unplug everything in their house.  My debilitating ES symptoms reduce significantly.  When they come back, I once again become dazed and confused, dizzy, weak, achy, ringing/buzzing in my head, short of breath, heart racing, and I can't function.  I think their wifi is the main culprit.

For the short term, my question is whether there is something THEY can do to mitigate the effects of their wifi?  My son-in-law tells me it's not something you can just turn off and on easily, but is there a way they could cover it up to at least block it's emissions during the daytime when they are out of the house? Or do something else with it that would reduce it's effect on me?  I barely know them but I thought I might at least be able to ask them to do that.

Our houses are about 12' apart, and their wifi is in the garage on ground level.  The side of my home that is closest to theirs has two bedrooms (sleeping, computer room), bathroom, and garage (laundry).  As soon as I enter those spaces I get "zapped" and become useless.

I'm a Senior with chronic Lyme disease and MCS of many years duration.  I have about 5% functioning of a healthy person, am 99% homebound, and have no help from others. I'm unable to learn about all the different types of RF/EMF, and do any of the things needed for shielding/mitigation because I'm so impaired by the effects of it.

For the long term:  I know I need to get a meter.  If possible, would one of you take me under your wing and just tell me which one to get, and what readings to look for to find out if it's their wifi, or something else?

Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated!  Sorry this is so disjointed' I just can't think straight. javascript:Nabble.smiley('anim_crazy.gif') Thanks.

With some wi-fi routers, you can control the output strength, so if they had one of those,
they could reduce it to the level that they really need it.  Also, I've seen at least one wi-fi
router that has a timer on it, so it automatically shuts off at times during the day when
wi-fi would never be needed.

But you'd have to have unusual neighbors who would be willing to take any steps to
reduce their wi-fi.

If your neighbor is willing to cooperate, there is a device called Signal Tamer. It's a shielded pouch that can be slipped over the router to reduce (but not kill) the output radiation levels. This reduces the effective range (distance) by about 50%, and reduces signal strength by about 90%. See http://www.lessemf.com/computer.html#220

It would be great if neighbors are willing to help and it probably wouldn't hurt to try. If not though... depending on how the houses are situated you may be able to just put up an rf blocking cloth over your wall that is closest to your neighbors.

Where I used to live, i was bombarded with neighbor wifi as well as the RF from cordless DECT phones. i bought a Cornet ED78S meter that was helpful, it detected their wifi and also had a sound mode that helped to "hear" the frequences.. the cordless phones had a steady beeping sound, whereas their wifi sounded more like a series of uneven clicks. So sorry you are going through this, hopefully your neighbors can be understanding of your situation. i've heard, though can't recall the brand, there are cordless phones on the market that do not emit as much RF while not in use. Shielding is difficult, because it needs to be done just right...

Yes you should definitely start with a meter to see what you are actually being exposed to. I like having both a directional meter and a multidirectional as well. Directional to pinpoint sources of emf, and multidirectional to see what my actual exposure is. There are TONS of threads on meters, I recommend doing a search through the threads and reading what people say. I have also suggested meters multiple times in previous threads.

There is an electrohypersensitive who runs a site called EmfAnalysis.com.  He does mentoring.  I did one session with him, I think it was a half hour session for $50, and he told me what kind of meter to get, housing alternatives, etc.    He also just wrote a book called "How to find a healthy home."  I got the e-book, but it's probably on amazon by now.  Loved it.  Good luck!

Hi Everybody,

I'm not sure how to get this message to everyone who has posted, but I want to thank all of you for taking the time to reply to my post with your most helpful suggestions and information.  I've been so wiped out from my ES reactions I haven't been able to get on the computer sooner to let you know how grateful I am.  I haven't had the ability to talk with the neighbors yet but desperately need to.  I'm trying to gather some info for them to read first in the hopes that it might convince them that ES is real, I have it, and wifi is a serious problem not only for me, but for them in the long run.

I found a link that might be helpful to someone else re: wifi which includes info on how to put it on a timer.

Re: Need help

ESther
None that I'm aware of, unfortunately.  I've joined nextdoor.com which is a message board for my local area, and I'm thinking of posting something about reducing the reach of wifi signals, but.... It wouldn't necessarily be read by the neighbors close to my house because they might not even be have joined the group.

I haven't had any luck with my actual next door neighbors cooperating with my request.  I wrote a letter to them requesting their help in reducing my exposure to their wifi.  I included information about what ES is, and ways to reduce the reach of the wifi signal into my house, and/or turning it off at night or when they aren't at home.  Two weeks later I spoke with the woman briefly on another matter and she told me they hadn't read what I'd given them, but they would.  Riiiight......
