Mylar

Hi, I'm thinking of making a tent canopy out of Mylar as a temporary solution. I have seen that there are a brand of metalised polyethylene blankets on the market that are quieter than the ordinary ones. Does anyone know if these are EMF protective too?

From what I can tell on a search of polyethylene is that it's just a common plastic. So if applied to a Mylar blanket it would most likely make it easier to handle, less likely to easily shred, and give the blanket a little more insulation while still retaining the RF reflection factor as a regular Mylar blanket.

Mylar is a polyester film.
Like polyacetate film, it is often used in safety blankets.

These films are coated with metal, one side solver, other side gold, or also silver.

The shielding is nice.
It shields in two ways.
1. the metal coating shields against transversal waves2. The plastic film in between sdoes refelct the biological active longitudinal waves.

It is one of the cheapest shielding materials.
