Hi to all and greetings from Maui.
I am becoming increasingly aware of and bothered by EMFs but am also bothered by the proximity of (switched off) ceiling fans. I know they do not produce an electromagnetic field when switched off so I'm hoping that somebody here can help me understand what I may be experiencing (mainly so I can explain it to my husband who thinks I am imagining it - I'm sure you've heard that one before!). I read somewhere that metal becomes magnetised by electromagnetic energy and also that it conducts it (apparently some people have a problem with mattresses with metal springs in them) so I am wondering if something like this is happening. I find using a computer pretty uncomfortable these days - I feel impacted on the front of my body (in my 'energy centers' and on my skin) I got myself a trifield meter and I notice that EMF readings are negligible at the distance I sit at so I am guessing that my body is like a conductor and the energy flows towards me when I am near an electromagnetic field. I have a mouthfull of amalgam fillings (which I am going to get rid of) so maybe that is a factor. Does anyone have any knowledge or thoughts about that? Thanks in advance for your feedback. Aline |

Ceiling fans are one of my red flags. They were not grounded in the
house where I got sick and there were readings of 14 miliguass near them when they were on. Other wiring was screwed up so even when they were off there were readings of 6-8 mG. There are a couple of factors to consider. The way you feel may be related to a number of different sources. Right now, my biggest issue is the electrical current running through the couch when I sit on it. Yes 2 or 3 mG makes a huge difference and no you should not be sitting in any reading for any amount of time. You can ground the couch, move the wires, move the furniture and THEN if you are still getting bad readings or feelings, check the outlets with your Stetzer Microsurge Meter http://www.stetzerelectric.com/filters/store.html You may also have a neutral wire problem which shows up when you turn appliances or light on, the neutral wires are overload and a magnetic field will kick up. Use your Guass meter to constantly check the different situations and your body voltage meter to check how much is running through your body while you sit in different locations. THEN, check your outside sources of radio/microwave radiation (WiFi, cordless phones, and power lines, etc.) to see how much is coming in to effect your feelings. See if you narrow down the different sources first. Definitely move away from any breaker boxes, outside power lines, large appliances, etc. good luck, Andrew On Dec 18, 2006, at 5:07 AM, Aline wrote: > Hi to all and greetings from Maui. > > I am becoming increasingly aware of and bothered by EMFs but am also > bothered by the proximity of (switched off) ceiling fans. An electric field can be emitted from the fan even when switched off. Try switching off the power supply to the fan at the fuse panel. The trifield is a good general purpose meter, but not terribly sensitive. Do you have the 100ex? That model is much more sensitive to electric fields. You can upgrade for $20. > I find using a computer pretty uncomfortable these days - I feel > impacted on the front of my body (in my 'energy centers' and on my > skin) I got myself a trifield meter and I notice that EMF readings > are negligible at the distance I sit at so I am guessing that > my body is like a conductor and the energy flows towards me when I am > near an electromagnetic field. Welcome to the club of people who are sensitive to computers, yet the fields are negligible where you sit. The power may decrease by the square of the distance, yet the fields do go to infinity. Watch out! Once your sensitized it's very, very difficult to get better. If it hurts, lay off. Eli |

Welcome to the group, Aline!
I think that some ceiling fans may produce a field even if they are switched off. Especially the ones which have remote speed controls or other fancy settings. Otherwise, you are correct that any metal parts in the fan (and in the wires leading up to the fan) can concentrate fields from the environment. Also, you shouldn't pay too much attention to your tri-field meter. It may not be measuring the frequencies or fields that you are most sensitive to, and also people who are sensitive can be more sensitive than meters! It certainly could be helpful to get rid of your metal dental work. But you should get a good dentist who takes the proper precautions (I suspect that Maui would have someone like that, as I recall there being a lot of good health food stores there). But eliminating the fillings is just the start -- you also have to get the accumulated metals out of the rest of your body. I've also had good results from nutrition and EMF protection devices, although it was a terribly long and expensive period of trial & error to determine what worked the best for me. Marc |

Thanks for the welcome, Marc and your reply.
I had been wondering if there were other frequencies than electromagnetic. For 30 years I have experienced people's energy field as a physical force field effecting mine (as different from each other as people are different from each other). The dentist did use a rubber damn to protect from mercury ingestion but sounds like that may not be enough. I started having ringing in my ears soon after the removal of 2 very large fillings and am suspecting that there is a connection. Hi Aline,
Unfortunately it is quite possible that the mercury removal could have something to do with your ES symptoms. My wife Sue had her mercury fillings removed and her chemical sensitivity worsened sharply, then she got ES a month later, with the same symptoms - ringing in the ears (in fact, throughout her head). My "take" on this is that removing the fillings releases a vastly greater quantity of mobile mercury vapour than the tiny amounts normally leached from fillings. So if someone is reacting to the latter, the removal can cause a far greater reaction, even if only a tiny proportion gets past the rubber dam. So a detox protocol to mop up any mercury vapour that gets into the body now seems essential to us. There are electric fields, electromagnetic waves (including microwaves, radio waves, lights etc) and magnetic fields, all slightly different. People seem to react to different ones to different extents. Sue was sure she was getting problems with the loudspeakers of my hi-fi system, even though they were switched off and unplugged at the wall (and even disconnected). I removed them and there may have been an improvement (it was hard to tell because she was reacting to so many things at the time). The only possible cause I could think of was residual magnetic fields in the coils. Maybe the same might happen with the armature of the motor in the ceiling fan? Largely guessing as I'm not an electrical engineer. Our sympathies to both you and your husband, we know from personal experience how hard it is for both the sufferer (her) and the puzzled partner (me) to cope with this mysterious condition which in so many ways seems to break all normal common-sense rules! There are patterns, but they are difficult to detect and I have had to learn to trust Sue's experiences - our bodies are often more sensitive meters than any current measuring instrument. However, even as a sceptical scientist, I am now convinced of the reality of ES, even if so far we don't understand it very much at all. Best wishes, Ian and Sue _____ From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Aline Sent: 19 December 2006 01:38 To: [hidden email] Subject: [eSens] Re: Metal conducting electricity Thanks for the welcome, Marc and your reply. Ideally they have a water-cooled drill, give you a separate air-source so you're not inhaling mercury fumes, and quickly break apart the fillings so that there is a minimum drilling time. Also, a personal theory of mine is that the novocaine shots actually liberate a significant amount of mercury in the cells into the bloodstream, which can then redistribute and cause problems. One can help counter this by taking some really strong antioxidants before and after the filling removals. Marc |

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your feedback. Was still pondering your last post - and had to get off the computer and get out of the house...... Gosh, that is a high reading for a ceiling fan. That is interesting to hear what can happen with faulty wiring. There really isn't anywhere to move the couch so I am hoping to solve the problem at it's root. It's just wiring under the floor (not a box as I previously said). The readings are strongest at the floor where we have our feet and the wire presumably goes to that socket where there is a constant reading with nothing plugged in (and an electrical reading of 100 volts from wires in the same wall). Sounds like Charles Keen could give me some pointers. We built the house and the electricians did all sorts of ridiculous things so I wouldn't be surprised if there is faulty wiring. Thanks again, Aline In [hidden email], Andrew McAfee <amcafeerr@...> wrote: Ceiling fans are one of my red flags. I recommend talking to him with your skeptical partner on the other phone. Charles is very quiet and extremely pensive and accurate. He doesn't ever exaggerate and is a very rational person. He knows about all about wiring problems, sensitivities (thanks to me) and much more. Make sure you have your meters ready before the call so you can tell him what is going on. You can also book a personal appearance for only $350. |

I think someone in here may know the link, it's in here somewhere; the
protocol for mercury filling removal. There should also be positive air ventilation. You are getting oxygen, but there is also a vacuum going at the site of the removal to prevent as much vapor as possible from getting into your system. Just a rubber dam does not do the job. People all have their own frequency and electromagnetic field as well, and I have problems with them too. The think I found that helped that most was the Bach's flower essence "Centaury". It helps 'seal up leaks your aura'. :) That's what it felt like too. Won't solve it all, but I'd almost bet you money, a bottle of that, and you will notice a difference in how often other people "get you". :) ~ Snoshoe --- In [hidden email], "Ian Kemp" <ianandsue.kemp@...> wrote: > For 30 years I have experienced people's energy field as a physical > force field effecting mine (as different from each other as people are > different from each other). > > The dentist did use a rubber damn to protect from mercury ingestion > but sounds like that may not be enough. Hi Snoshoe,
I used to use the Bach Flower remedies a lot but haven't since I moved to the US. I've got 2 boxes of them but I guess they are all too old now. I will get some Centaury - I don't think I ever used that one. Thanks. I think the dentist used a vacuum but definitely no ventilation. The 'energy invasion' I get from sitting at the computer feels very similar to when I am near a person who's energy I can't handle. I feel my energy centers taking in energy that should not be there. It's very uncomfortable and stresses my entire body. It's draining and exhausting. These days I have to go outside to discharge this energy build-up inside me. I'm realising that living near the ocean is really helpful. We are 5 minutes walk to the beach and I think the outdoor environment is the only thing that keeps me healthy. I am trying to train myself to drink my tea on the deck every morning instead of going straight to the computer. Need to look into protection devices too and exchange my large screen for a smaller one. Well I'm waffling now. Thanks again for sharing.
