Measure of Gigaset phone + Faraday cage effect

Jinna
A friend of mine came to measure some high frequencies home, with a device called HFE35C.

I thought my Gigaset C300A (house phone) did not emit a lot of high frequencies while not in use, but I was wrong: it does emit a significant amount of radiation (about 600microWatts /m3).
When in use, it emits more than 2000 microWatts/ m3), like my old cell phone.

Well, I put a box I made with alu foil (about 3 layers) on the Gigaset phone, and the measure went down from more than 2000 to 50-60mcWatts!!).

The wifi router, without the box, also emits more than 2000mW, while with the home made Faraday box (a paper box covered with 3 layers of aluminum foil, including the under part of the device) brings it down to 30-80 mcWatts). Yes, from 2000 to 30-80mw.

So the lesson: forget about Gigaset, get a phone with cable.

BUT, my friend has a phone with cable that emits more than 2000microwatts, because it CONNECTS to the cell phone. But instead of emitting 2000mcW sometimes, it emits THE WHOLE TIME. It has a cable!! but it is WORSE than my Gigaset. So he's dumping his phone in the garbage and buying a new one.

And the 2nd lesson: building a simple Faraday cage can diminish emissions CONSIDERABLY and it IS WORTH.

The Gigaset can be measured in the upper floor. When it is not connected to the base, it emits CRAZY frequencies, pulsed, every 3 seconds. So never let it out of the base, build a Faraday cage, the phone still RINGS when someone calls even with the Faraday cage (it does not block the whole radiation).

We tried with metallic mosquito nets, it works very little, not like the Alu foil box.

Anyway, just wanted to write it here...

I'll get another device to measure low frequencies soon.

Jinna, does that box you made have any ventilation?  As some electronics shouldn't be enclosed in boxes without proper ventilation.

Yes, it is open to the lower side because I need to let device cables come in.

But I usually build a BIG box, much larger than the device, so that it will have some space to avoid overheating.

And the box is not totally sealed.

I mean, I build a flat base with alu foil, then I wrap a cardboard box with alu foil which is open to one side, so that I place it on top of the router (for example).

When someone home needs stronger wifi, they take the box off easily.

There's always some space in between the base and the box, if you see what I mean.

I have this box for years over the router, so far, never got trouble.

Now I wrapped my Gigaset too. The box has barely an holes though, compared to the rooter. But it is rather big. Let's see if the phone will survive...

I just found out why I may be feeling so bad lately in my bedroom: 2 5G antennas are already working in the town.

they are still far (about 1 km, 2 km) but I wonder...

I changed my bed of position to check. Yesterday slept in the new configuration. Let's see if I'll stop waking up at 3 am and not being able to sleep again.

Not fun.

"Jinna"- stoping to wake up at 3am. if you have a smart meter around 3 am is when it sends out a massive data pack, that might be waking you up. I run into that issue, and ive caught it with my rf meter when it does it, its a massive data pack for about 5 -7 seconds, just enough to wake you up from deep sleep

Wow!!

But no, we still do not have smart meter, fortunately!

And I connected my bed now to the earth, and now I even lose the time in the morning!!

But thanks!
