DOES ANY ONE ON THIS GROUP HAVE THIS EXPERIENCE WITH A MICROPHONE ? WHAT THE HELL IS THE MIC EMITTING ? HELP PAUL UK [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
I have heard of someone reacting to a corded mic.
Maybe try a ferrite core on the cord? LessEMF has a little snap-on one and there are commercial sources (newark inc.). You may need to wrap the cord several times through the core (although the lessEMF one is too small for that, it all depends what the frequency is I think). Or it could be something right in the microphone I guess. It's a great idea; let us know if you get it to work! Bill Thanks for the reply Bill, I have a ferrite in the cord just wrapped the cord around the ferrite, which I cut off an old monitor cable. The software is available on ebay for approx £5 Dragon Naturally speaking, and its worth every penny apart from the mic !, theres no free get out of jail card with ES is there ! By the way has any one subscribed to Next Up, its good for news on the wireless world. Paul [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
The monitor cable ferrite is probably designed to let through
frequencies that you may react to. If you can wrap it more times that might cut off more frequencies (any experts out there on that?). If so, wrapping too many times you might lose audio quality, but I think it would take more than 10 wraps to reach that point (based on one data point of trying to filter my phone line--not successfully).
