Hi, I just wondered if anyone could give me any help with getting a low emfphone, maybe
someone has tried one that works. I cannot use a mobile or landline at present and feel pretty cut off. Maybe someone can offer an alternative suggestion? i havechecked the 'chat history' on this group but could not find a conclusion as to which phone/headset was best. Thank you again for your time, I am feeling slightly better this week, someof which is due to the kind words from others on this site. |

PAUL UK You could try to modify a spaeker phone so that the microphone is on a long wire away from the phone base see my example in the photo section of essens home page If you have one to hand I could modify it for you if you can snd it to me etc.. I attach a stethoscope chestpiece to the phone's earpiece with duct tape, so I can hear from 18-24 inches away. I just raise my voice to talk.
For emergencies on the road, I carry a stethoscope in my car trunk, along with some plastic tongs to hold it to the speaker of a public phone. bluebonnet -- "ajwelectro" <[hidden email]> wrote: Hi, I just wondered if anyone could give me any help with getting a low emf phone, maybe someone has tried one that works. I've used the paper tube method suggested on the FEB site.
Put a paper tube or disposable cup with the bottom cut out over the phone ear piece. This gives some separation. I have a panasonic speaker phone which works OK but could be better. I believe there are better ones in the $200 range. I have found that at AM radio tuned to the low end of the dial often picks up some periodic clicks on my phones and the phone lines. So far my attempts to filter this out have failed. (And if I disconnect the line at the house entrance it's still there, so it's some kind of antenna effect inside the house). My phone at work makes tons of noise on the radio. But at least the speaker phone works great. Let us know what you end up with and how it works...
