Looking for support in New York

SensitiveNYC
Hey everybody. Life seems pretty hopeless right now. I am barely able to get through my days. I could really use a friend in New York... I'm in Queens. Any age race or gender, I don't care- just want to know someone else who is struggling with EHS. You can be like me, and utterly wiped out by this illness, or someone who has found some improvement. You do not need to be able to provide advice. All I want is to feel like I am not alone. All I have right now is my husband (I am gay) and he does not even live with me. I am poor and I'm forced to live in a rented attic while the dude that lives below me terrorizes me with his iPhone and WiFi. Life sucks. Please Lord send me somebody who understands... maybe we can inspire each other not to give up. It's really disturbing how hard it is to find anyone with my condition that I can talk to. I feel like there is heavy internet censorship keeping us all apart from each other so we can't organize and gain credibility for ourselves.

Dear Friend
I strongly agree with you when you say ... I feel like there is heavy internet censorship keeping us all apart from each other so we can't organize and gain credibility for ourselves.

This is the main and huge gap for EHS' people.
Everywhere (I'm in Italy) there is not any true EHS' opinion groups or association that can spreads out their people.

Hi, fellow nyc electrosmog survivor!

You are like literally one in a million: of the piles upon piles of ppl in this city, it seems almost no one is around to understand appreciate the health impacts of tech, esp. wireless since that seems to be the trendy thing for people to consume and become addicted through.

I gave up on making friends in the flesh pretty much, and am so grateful for the wonderful ppl the internet allows to come together in forums like this.

So glad you found this spot where you do not have to feel the hostility of those who either think you are crazy, or misattribute your life/behavior to poor character or bad behavior (e.g. having a bad attitude or whatever the phoney spiritualists want to believe).

I'm over in Brooklyn, barely surviving and trying to keep my head afloat despair.

This resource of a community online is really made by people like you posting, so thank you!

Karen

Woohoo! Someone in Brooklyn? That's not too far. Is it illegal for us to exchange emails?

My thoughts on New Yorkers, after living here for 7 years:

New York is not a place where people come to find themselves. People think they are coming here to do that, (I did) but really all they do is assimilate in the prescribed ways. Technology has made that process all the more swift. Young and old, of every race, all being turned into drones. Never in the history of planet earth has any addiction been so widespread among such a diverse crowd (crack, weed, alcohol, cigarettes, included) as mobile technology. They aren't used on a "need to use" basis. Because they've bought the propoganda that being connected everywhere makes us "closer". They assume that at any given moment, 24/7, some "need" will come up. Therefore 99% of people who forget their phone at home will turn around and get it, as if they left the oven on or forgot to lock the door. Like its that important.

I understand that when waiting in a long line or taking a long ride on the train, people want a distraction. Just like at the end of the long workweek, people want a distraction by knocking back a couple drinks. But phone addictions have carried over- such that now people want a distraction ALL THE TIME. People would rather look at their screens than watch where they are going. Groups of young people, following whatever other trend of the day, be it feminism, gay rights, black lives matter, free palestine, whatever - and I'm not against any of those things - are completely asleep to this mass hypnosis and they sit at cafes all watching their phones together, letting someone or something else think FOR THEM. It's sad. It's revolting. And its dangerous. I guess you get it, huh?

Brian I'm so sorry I forgot to follow up on this message... the thoughts you conveyed have passed my mind too many times.

If you'd like to talk any time, I am nearby to relate with, whether on here or email.

Hope you are well and not drowning in the ever increasing smog.  Even though we suffer brain fog, somehow our minds are still clearer than those who are not hypersensitive yet wildly addicted.

So glad you did not fall prey to the apparant zombie pre-apocolypse.
