Hi Charles,
I haven't read everything on your site, but a lot already, except someof the "Het Bitjes" (the seasonal ones), that's still on my list! I've also read most of your and Dietrich's older postings... I don't think youcan't say that I don't want to make an effort... Probably I do ask stupid questions, well so be it! ;-) I'm aware of the harmful longitudinal/scalar/Teslar waves from EMF and that alu-foil does only shield you partially from the longitudinal EMF waves. I've read water is the only way to shield from them... What I was asking here is whether this "white noise" also compensates for these harmful longitudinal waves... About the wheat-seed water test, yes, I suppose it confirms the findings that the Faraday-cage doesn't work for the harmful longitudinal waves and that the BioProtect works (for the seeds)...
Water seems important on the entire issue of EMF... first I would like to test energizing bottled water (Spa Reine) with the "double-egg Water Vorticiser", this is number 3 at: http://www.sulis-health.co.uk/sulis/water.html#jug In one of your experiments you seem to have used a similar vorticiser (wervelaar)... All microwave ovens (at least on the US market) do
show high magnetic field readings close to the oven when off. This is probably from a transformer used to power the the digital display and buttons. The older kind with mechanical timer I have not tested. Plug it into a power strip with a switch and keep it off when not in use... it generates dirty power anyway (test with a radio). If the fridge has no digital features then it probably does not generate dirty power. A surge protector might make the field more tolerable by cleaning up the field going in, but I think in this case a filter with toroidal inductors would be needed as you'd have to focus on the low-impedance 100kHz region. It won't reduce the field at 60 Hz in any case. You can still buy efficient fridges with manual defrost. It is generally the blower that is the problem. Bill,
Thats correct, my outlet checked out to be grounded properly. I will do what you said about the strip and just power it off when I'm not using it (which is most of the time anyway) Do you know of a strip with torroidal inductors? I ordered a quantum outlet which I will plug it into, don't know if it willdo anything but supposedlt it helps for some reason. I could plug the strip directly into the quantum outlet. The pre-year 2000 Isobars from Tripp-Lite
that list dB attenuation on the front have toroids. ICEradioProducts sells filters with toroids, they work much better than a Stetzer filter, but one started buzzing, the customer service is unpredictable, they look industrial but don't have the build quality of the (much more expensive) Filter Concepts CF series (which have the best performance of the bunch). Still, they are by no means the ultimate. Military grade filters typically give 100dB attenuation from 14 kHz or 40kHz to 10 GHz or higher. But to get that performance you need a good RF ground at the filter, and wires all in metal conduit. By the way, the microwave emissions from a microwave oven are significant. A friend of mine always quickly moves 10 feet away or he gets a headache... and he doesn't even consider himself electrically sensitive! Best to just get rid of it... though pretty much every cooking device has some kind of emission--chemical, or magnetic . Does the Furman or the Brick Wall have these? I own both, but have no idea what's in them! > I ordered a quantum outlet which I will plug it into, don't know if it > will do anything but supposedlt it helps for some reason. The Quantum stuff deals with an entirely different thing... here is a page by ex-eSens member Vinny Pinto (who manufacturers his own devices, although he calls them "experimental prototypes" and offers no money-back guarantees) which attempts to explain the "non-Herzian" aspect of many EMF devices: http://www.coherentspace.info/coherent-space-1.html Marc |

The new Isobars don't have it? I wonder if Furman models do?
I don't use my microwave that often-to heat up a cherry pit pad for my aching neck, I used to use it to warm up chinese food but now i use a pan. I also used it with some tv dinners but I will stop buying them. --- On Mon, 3/29/10, Bill Bruno <[hidden email]> wrote: > From: Bill Bruno <[hidden email]> > Subject: Re: [eSens] Just had my EMF Levels checked by SDGE > To: [hidden email] > Date: Monday, March 29, 2010, 10:29 AM > The pre-year 2000 Isobars from > Tripp-Lite > that list dB attenuation on the front have > toroids. Well, given this marketing photo, I'd say that the Furman power strips do have a toroidal inductor: http://www.furmansound.com/swf/furman_smp_plus.html This I think would apply to the PST-8, PST-8D, and PST-10D. But like I said, I never really noticed any change in symptoms from the Furman power strips, although they do keep the Stetzer meter readings lower. Marc |
well, at least they are good surge suppressors. I'm getting noise in my TV and I have the brickwall attached there. Maybe I'll swap it for the Furman PST-8 or PST-8D because I have a DVD Player, although I'm not sure how muchthat matters.
I just received my Rabbitair air purifier and man it stinks! I knew there would be some out-gasing but I think I need an air cleaner for this air cleaner. How come you have the stetzer meter if you don't have the filters? --- On Mon, 3/29/10, Marc Martin <[hidden email]> wrote: > From: Marc Martin <[hidden email]> > Subject: Re: [eSens] Torroids, power strips, etc. > To: [hidden email] > Date: Monday, March 29, 2010, 8:52 PM > > If you see wires wrapped around > a ring > > that's a toroidal inductor. > > Well, given this marketing photo, I'd > say that the Furman power strips do have > a toroidal inductor: > > http://www.furmansound.com/swf/furman_smp_plus.html > > This I think would apply to the PST-8, PST-8D, and > PST-10D. > > But like I said, I never really noticed any > change in symptoms from the Furman power > strips, although they do keep the Stetzer > meter readings lower. > > Marc > > > ------------------------------------ > > Yahoo! I originally had some Stetzer filters to go along with the meters, but found that they gave me a sharp pain in my head. :-( In fact, may of these shunt-capacitor type filters give me the same symptoms. Fortunately, the Furman "linear filtering" doesn't cause me any problems, while reducing the Stetzer meter readings. Marc |
I'm going to return my meter for a refund.
I should be getting the Quantum products soon, I'll let you know if I notice anything. Do you get a reaction to the brickwall? --- On Mon, 3/29/10, Marc Martin <[hidden email]> wrote: > From: Marc Martin <[hidden email]> > Subject: Re: [eSens] Torroids, power strips, etc. > To: [hidden email] > Date: Monday, March 29, 2010, 9:35 PM > > How come you have the stetzer > meter if you don't have the filters? > > I originally had some Stetzer filters to go along with the > meters, > but found that they gave me a sharp pain in my head. > :-( In fact, > may of these shunt-capacitor type filters give me the same > symptoms. > Fortunately, the Furman "linear filtering" doesn't cause > me > any problems, while reducing the Stetzer meter readings. > > Marc > > > ------------------------------------ > > Yahoo! No, it's just when comparing the Brickwall and the Furman, I thought the Faurman seemed a bit better for me symptoms wise. But the difference was so small that I could have been imagining any differences... :-) Marc |
That is a toroidal core in the Furman picture, but
there should be two of them, so it's probably a common mode choke (too hard to see if it has 4 connections). And what are all these other components? The isobars are just chokes and capacitors and one over-voltage protector. This looks like the right kind on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Tripp-Lite-Isobar-Ultra-4-Diagnostic-Surge-Suppressor_W0QQitemZ350332712836QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item519174f784 So far the price is pretty good on that item. Also note the color is a bit yellowish... the newer ones are more grey. If you get one and the switch feels like it can slide around, it's probably the newer kind with a big non-toroidal choke that can touch the switch if the switch moves too much (can short out and trip your breaker). Don't expect miracles but if you need to plug in a dirty power generator and are going to be somewhere else in the house, this kind of thing is worth a try. When I plugged in the brickwall I thought it gave off more emf's and the TVpic got a little blurry, turned out the picture was because the cable box needed to be reset and the meter didn't test out any more emfs.

You can get a new one on amazon with free shipping for around the same price. I was thinking of connecting my fridge to one of these. I would use the Furman for TV and computer

The new ones, at least the ones they started making around 2001,
don't have toroidal chokes. At that time they also stopped listing the (-50dB) etc performance specs on the front (because it would not meet them). And, the switches were not properly fastened and could short out.
