How many people have tried high level of iodine, like 3000-4000mcg ?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDRd40VK5PY It seems plenty of iodine is required for detoxing according to the video. Also there is a youtube video suggesting they cured EHS with iodine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yB4J0JyNyXo |
For about 5 years I have taken some Lugol's Iodine at bedtime, as it gives a wonderful sleep.
In the beginning I applied it externally, because it tastes like shit. A few drops of 15%, always alternating the place of application, otherwise the skin gets uncomfortably dry. Then i found out that orange juice or red wine hides the taste perfectly, so for the last year, i have taken 3 drops of 15% Lugols in an ounce of red wine before bed. I use this brand https://www.bobbyshealthyshop.co.uk/show-product-details.php?ID=98 3 drops of 15% makes 23mg of Iodine. Yes, that is 23000mcg! That is a medium dosage according to Dr. Sircus: http://drsircus.com/iodine/sources-and-uses-for-iodine-iodine-to-rescue/ |
So what would you say it does for your ES symptoms?.. Any better since taking it? Did you try any other Iodine brand? |

Nobody else ?.. Surprising.. statistics say 50% of people in some countries in Europe are deficient in Iodine, as of 2009.. so now maybe it's 75%.
In US it's said to be better due to lots of salt consumption.. they said only 10%. https://emfacademy.com/best-supplements-minerals-emf-protection/ "If there was just one supplement on this list that I would recommend, it would be Iodine. First of all, Iodine helps keep the bodies thyroid gland working correctly so that correct regulation of hormone production can be maintained. Iodine also helps to boost the immune system by scavenging free radicals, like vitamin C, and also increases the positive influence of antioxidants on the body, which in turn improves the bodies defense of diseases like heart disease and cancer. EMF Radiation has been shown to increase chances of cancer, and Iodine directly combats this. Iodine’s anti-carcinogenic properties were shown in a study that proved cancer cells shrunk when injected with iodine. In fact, these cancer cells at times during the study died and were replaced by healthy cells. High levels of heavy metals in the body have been shown to have amplifying effects on EMF radiation. Iodine helps to flush the body of heavy metals. It is recommended when taking Iodine to also take magnesium, vitamin C, and selenium as well." I would also recommend NAC, because Iodine will cause detoxing symptoms and NAC will protect the liver. Not sure what all the scare is about with taking Iodine, but of course you can always check with your doctor and get a Iodine loading test. I think everyone with EHS should get that test and make sure they have enough iodine. Perhaps many people feel bad when taking it due to the detoxing effects.. articles say it lasts about 2 weeks. |
Sailplane, I've been using Lugol's 5% Iodine solution for 5 years. I apply a line of it to forearms twice a day. I had become complacent about using it for 2 months wondering if it did me any good, and sure enough I began to feel more EMF sensitive. My thyroid
is underactive and it helps with that also.

The first brand of Iodine I used was from https://drclark.com/
but they only stock 5%, and only in 30 ml bottles, so i switched to Bob's. While taking Lugol's Iodine, my ES slowly improved, but i cannot know for sure if the Iodine was the cause, as i also took Chlorella, and did some parasite cleanses as descrebed in http://drhuldaclark.curehelp.com/downloads/TheCureforAllDiseases.pdf |

I've also taken iodine for years, but after staining various parts of my kitchen with iodine drops, I switched to tablets (from Standard Process). These may not be as effective, but at least they aren't causing unremoveable stains in my kitchen!
But I only take 3mg per day, not the up-to-50mg that some people take. Marc |
For US people I found testing that can be ordered online https://www.hakalalabs.com/testing-services/24-hour-urine-iodine-loading-test-with-options-of-bromide-or-fluoride-test-kits.html For $70. 3mg vs 50mg, that's a big difference.. I also do not know at all what would be good. If you get this test Marc, it would be very interesting to know your result after taking 3mg for years. This guide: https://jeffreydachmd.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/The-Guide-to-Supplementing-with-Iodine-Stephanie-Burst-ND.pdf Does not recommend Standard process, or Iosol which is the one I have. I have no idea how he came to those conclusions though.. but I do feel a difference between vegetable iodine and Iosol iodine, so I guess I just have to buy some Lugol iodine. |

Some info about the maximum iodine:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4495864/ Example of somebody taking 100ml of Lugols by mistake is there, they lived but needed intervention.. that's about 2000 drops I believe. The recommended(sort of) in the guide was 20 drops of Lugols, which would be about 1ml I think. Probably best to start with 1 drop and see what happens.. At least it's better than nothing. |
"Nascent (aka Magnascent, Detoxified, or Atomidine) – Based on
Edgar Cayce’s “energized” iodine. The iodine is reduced to a 1% concentration in 100% ethyl alcohol and electro-magnetically transmuted (while being suspended in a wet bath containing a mild acid solution) into the Atomic state. 1 drop = 150 microgram (mcg) or .150 mg of Iodine. This form will not saturate body tissues and has not been proven to detox halides such as bromide, fluoride, chloride, and mercury, as other forms have. This form of iodine is not recommended on this protocol as the goal is tissue saturation and halide detoxification / protection." Everyone says Nascent is the greatest on the other hand?.. so weird. |
This is a video on how to produce your iodine crystals on your own.
"Making Iodine Crystals and More" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjuSR1fW9Po you can make your own lugol solution, if I understood well, from these crystals. |
Yes you can make Lugol with the crystals and it costs much less. But first you gotta see if Lugol works for you, so I just bought it already made to be easier. I'm finding Lugol's is not so strong like Iosol, despite that they say it's stronger. |
I have never tried supplementing with iodine. I just ordered some Iodoral 12.5mg. I'll start with 12.5mg then go up to 25mg in a week and see what it does. I didn't realize most people are probably deficient in iodine and it was more or less replaced with toxic bromine back in the 70s.

Yikes! That's a big dose to start with. I've taken iodine for years, but have never managed to tolerate that much as a single dose.
And some people are pretty sensitive to it, barely even tolerating the RDA, which is about 100 times less than that dose. So be careful with that first dose... Thanks. Maybe I'll break it in half and try 6.25.
|
Yeah, I wouldn't even do 6.25.. I started with Iosol however and about 500mcg or less.. for a while. That's less than half a drop, into water and drink less then half the water. I can take 1800mcg now. Lugol 2% I can take 5 drops, but it doesn't compare with 1 drop of 1800mcg Iosol.. even though they say 5 drops of lugol is 12.5mg! There is definitely something different between atomic/nascent/iosol iodine and just plain lugol. I feel more effect from 1800mcg Iosol than 12.5mg of Logol. Both me and girlfriend take it and she also notices no effect from the Logol. It's very strange.. there must be a whole different way they work and absorb into cells. They say atomic iodine like Iosol is best absorbed. Seems to be true although some doctors disagree that it's good. |

Yes, my experience is that the dosage in mcg/mg doesn't tell you the whole story. as like you say, a smaller dose of one iodine can cause adverse effects that a larger dose of another brand does not. As I've also got Nascent Iodine, Atomic Iodine, Kelp, Standard Process brand, and Iodoral and they're all different. Presumably different absorption rates. Marc |
Great to hear I'm not the only one. Atomic iodine is supposedly the most absorbable. When they say 150mcg daily recommended, if that's atomic iodine, then I would say that's not too terrible.. it would probably work well. Taking 1800mcg feels like quite a bit, but I will not do that for too long, I'm just getting the level higher because I'm quite sure it was low due to symptoms which start getting better while taking it. I'm seeing a lot of improvements, but when I switch to Lugol, they all start disappearing within a couple of days for both me and my girlfriend. I'm still at 1800mcg or lower per day, some days half, .. I was going to try a higher dose for detoxing, but I don't think that will be possible, and likely I will end up at half a drop per day just to have a good level. I wonder how many drops of Lugol would be similar to Iosol, or maybe no matter how many drops, it would never be the same.. |
