Info on RFI ferrite beads

I just got some of the RadioShack snap-on chokes.
Here is some interesting reading.

This approach should be OK for common mode noise from 1-200 MHz
or so. But you need a lot of windings and a lot of chokes.
I imagine in some cases combining these with Stetzer filters
might be good, as the Stetzers only get the differential mode.
Ferrites can address differential mode if you have separate
cores for the hot and neutral, but then you may also create
a magnetic field locally.

If you're going to go through that trouble, you should get a multi-stage
filter, and have it far from the house.
