degaussing....using a hairdryer but pointing away from you and sweeping it over your body with the back of the hairdryer, front and back and doing it at least twice a week....something to do with positive and negative ions

I think some people here cannot use a hair dryer, although I personally have never had much trouble with using one for a few minutes each day.

That said, many years ago I tried "degaussing" myself with an actual "degausser", but I never noticed it helping me at all.

Two or three years ago, I bought a hair dryer that was advertised as having a capability to emit "negative ions"; supposedly, negative ions seal in moisture and give your hair a healthier, shinier look.  Well, I used it once, and was disappointed in the results (my hair is rather "difficult").  It's just sat in a closet ever since.

From reading this post, I just may have reason to dig it back up from the dead.  While my hair may not have benefited from negative ions as much as I would have liked - it seems that more "internal" parts of my body have loved negative ions.

But yeah - "negative ions" is a selling-point of several hairdryers on the market.
