It's pretty unpredictable how the sound bites will come out.
When I was interviewed they only used stuff I said when I
talking casually with the crew...

BTW, I just realized that since a lot of these smart meters are mesh
networks, they may only send 4 times a day, but the receiver is probably
always on.  With a receiver you (almost always) have a
local oscillator which causes (unwanted) emissions (which is why
the FAA won't let you use an FM radio on an airplane... the
frequency is too close to aircraft band.

Plus if the receiver is always on, it's always needing juice from the
switch mode power supply, and that puts unwanted RF onto the power lines.

All radio-broadcasting utility meters are not Smart Meters, per se.  So be sure which yours is in order to speak about it accurately.  They don't all broadcast at the same frequency, either.

There is a broad range of difference in how freuently lthe meters of different companies broadcast.  In our area, the electric company meters broadcast every 6 seconds.  In areas where the meters are piggy backed, the broadcast is essentially continual.  (Each meter picks up and rebroadcasts the signal from others near it, so that the signal from meters furthest from the company's pick -p location reach it.)

Re: Getting interviewed about Smart Meters Wednesday

The CCST report says the PG&E plan is four times per day initially,
with the assumption that it will be increased later.

But it's not been confirmed to my knowledge if that's what the
meters they are putting in actually do.

Good info, thanks. Plus the signals are bouncing from meter to meter, they piggyback the signals along the way from house to house so their measurements of output are bogus.

I was first told 1 time/day than 4 times/day, then they wouldn't tell me and wouldn't tell me what times of the day it pulses.
Also, do they all pulse at the same time? does each one pulse at different times, which means since they piggyback to each other we are being bombarded all day long? I believe thats the answer, therefore the every 25 seconds that you heard.

From all this uncertainty, I guess nobody who has a Smart Meter
here actually has a relevant meter (~900 Mhz) to actually see
how often they are transmitting?

Re: Getting interviewed about Smart Meters Wednesday

Trans ranges from 250 - 600 ft. every 15 mins.

Landys & Gyr said transmits every 15 mins. for gas meters.

Asked if we had an internal meter. Gas. co kept saying the gas lines hook to the outside meter.

That doesn't make sense, please explain it.

Meters are mounted in different directions depending on the building.

I hope some can get  measurements to prove it.

Hey folks, may I suggest something?  Many of you add noteworthy comments regarding your experience... "where I live"  or "in my area" you tell what is going on.

Would you mind please saying instead, "in San Diego"  or "upper N.Y." or whatever... wherever you live... tell us what city and if possible what electric company is installing the smart meters that are bothering you.

That way, those of us who live nearby can benefit directly, and perhaps add support to any protests, or commentary to the press or other authorities.

Whoever is being interviewed by the press at his home, might it help to have other witnesses milling around the property to add to the testimony that the meters are affecting their health?  If this would be desirable it could be accomplished.

Just identify where you are when commenting, please.

And wouldn't that work?  Doesn't that measure cellphone frequencies?
And don't the Smart Meters transmit at cellphone frequencies?

Seems like you could put the Cell Sensor right next to the Smart
Meter, and see how frequently it goes off.  Unless of course,
it really does only go off a few times per day...

I'm in California about 50 miles from LA. The electric company is Southern California Edison. The EMF department took readings last week. My home is the safest place to live on the planet. NOT!!!
I don't believe they measured what is causing the buzzing, nausea, or headaches (pressure). What ever they measured it was low. But when I'm by the meter I can't stand it. I had to go back in the house when they had the signal sent from the home office, so they could measure the signal. It was so strong (just being by the meter). It's also bad in the house, but not as bad. It's either bad or worse. Never good anymore. :( I also think I have some geothermic thing going on under my house. I have all the stray cats in the neighborhood in my yard at night. Weird.
