It's a relief to know that I'm not insane. For several years, I have been absolutely drained by using telephones, and computers can suck the life out of me. Changing to an LCD screen and moving the CPU several feet away from me have helped enormously. Taking molybdenum for multiple chemical sensitivity seems to have helped, too, though perhaps the two are unrelated. I get a sudden sharp pain in my head when driving away from my health food store (no, it's not a response to the huge amount of money I shell out every week (!); a cellular tower is located nearby, though that may have nothing to do with it. Still, interesting that it always happens at that same spot and just one stab of pain. I've been reading in the archives and have picked up some tips to try. Took the cord-free phone out of my bedroom last night and substituted a cord phone. I already take melatonin and use blackout curtains in the bedroom, as well as a sleep mask (the AC window unit glows and disturbs me). I'm happy to see that somebody has practical suggestions for EMF sensitivity since there's no escaping EMF's and cell towers. No problem! Welcome to the list! > It's a relief to know that I'm not insane. For several years, I have been > absolutely drained by using telephones, and computers can suck the life out > of me. "Computers can suck the life out of me" -- I remember saying exactly the same thing 5 years ago. They still are my biggest remaining problem area, but at least my tolerance for them has increased from 5 minutes a day to 8 hours a day! > Taking molybdenum for multiple chemical > sensitivity seems to have helped, too, though perhaps the two are unrelated. They certainly could be related... a lot of people who have ES have other sensitivities which started more or less at the same time. I've read that molybdenum is good for people who are sensitive to smells like in perfumes, etc., and that certainly describes me (the smell of gasoline at the pump is pretty bothersome to me as well). I'm planning on trying out a good brand of molybdenum at some point in the near future -- my understanding is that the health food store brands don't absorb very well, so I'm going to try some Biotics Research brand (mail order), which I've found to be one of the better brands available. > I'm happy > to see that somebody has practical suggestions for EMF sensitivity since > there's no escaping EMF's and cell towers. Yes, I started this list out of frustration that all the "experts" were saying that ES was uncureable and the only thing that could be done is avoidance, when I already knew from my own experiences that this was untrue. It may however require a LOT of trial and error to make significant progress... at least it did in my case. Marc |
