Lots of toxins can come out of energy saving bulbs. Plastic+heat = chemicals.

Most people with ES are sensitive to chemicals, so beware of this issue. I just found out after getting a batch of terribly smelling bulbs, but potentially even bulbs that don't smell are offgassing pretty bad stuff that you can't even smell!
For GU10 bulbs there are glass body bulbs that I believe should be quite good.. but no idea for normal bulbs. Incandescent is glass/metal, so no problems like this.

It depends on the quality of the construction, materials used and type of bulb. I once had to change some with square stick in socket, and the glue and between plastic and glass was damaged due to overheating or age so when i took them out they somehow crushed and I inhaled the mercury. Yes I did feel the irritation in my lungs for some hours or a day afterwards.

So go for high quality and trusted brand.

And of course, energy savings bulbs can emit a lot of frequencies that an old-fashioned incandescent bulb does not.

Forget about these economy saving bulbs.

Most alternative practitioners here in Germany / Switzerland recommend you stay far away from them. Including fluorescent bulbs...

Yeah some are no good, but I think some are usable.. like the ones with glass body.  Of course if the frequencies don't bother you.. if you have 30 bulbs that are 40-60 watts, it's a big difference in saving.. We never had issues until this year, the Luminus brand must've cheaped out on the plastic and used something very bad!

Save energy by spending your health, what a great idea! I'm also sensitive to certain kinds of plastic but over a long period of time I still have not been able to find out what the link between ES and MCS is and it's so frustrating I've given up trying to find out. I've had some plastic things I bought for the kitchen I couldn't use before it was a Mr.Coffee drip maker that gave me a bad reaction and recently I bought a new water filter and experienced the same allergic reaction. I know people that do not have these conditions never get these reactions to every day things but imagine what this is doing under the surface to everyone's bodies and minds, we just get a front row seat to the corners they're cutting be using the extremely low cost options they are.
