ES and face burning rash

wvucedtammy
For about a year and a half, I've had this rash on my face. I feel a
burning, skin crawling, itching sensation. Little white bumps show up
on my face when it's at it's worse. Now the part that has healed looks
like a sunburn. At times it's so bad I itch it till it bleeds. A few
months ago I took a few weeks off work and the rash almost completly
went away. I went back to work and it came back. Last month I was in a
hotel room, using my cell phone and happened to look in the mirror. The
rash is exactly where I hold my phone. I use a computer 4-6 hours a day
and a cell phone at least an hour per day, sometimes more often. So I
googled my symptoms and found ES information. I had never heard of it
before. I've also had a lot of other health problems that I never had
before I took this job. Now I'm noticing the same kind of stinging on
my chest when I've been at the computer for a long time. Is there any
testing that a doctor can do to determine if it is ES? Thanks for
listening.

Tammy,
Can you video tape your symptoms and put it on YouTube?
I think it will go along way in proving to the public what we saying is
real.
thanks,
Andrew

I do not have a video camera or high speed internet access. I live in
an area where high speed is not available. I would be interested to
know if there is any research being done and would be willing to
participate. I can possible use a camera to take pictures and post.

Hi Tammy, unfortunately there aren't any tests yet to conclusively determine
ES, which is one of the reasons why "mainstream" medicine is so sceptical.
It would be great if someone could find one!

However, your skin rash and other symptoms sound very like the effects
reported, particularly in Sweden, which first identified ES. The general
cause was high levels of exposure to computers/screens and mobile (cell)
phones.

You mention "other health problems" - do these include ME, CFS or MCS
(multiple chemical sensitivity)? For many people, these are precursors to
developing ES. They are usually a sign of immune system problems (lots of
mails in the past in the group about this). Also, is this your first job
where you have used a cellphone for such long periods?

Yes, this is the first job I've had to use a cell phone. I didn't use
one at all before. My other symptoms are trouble sleeping, digestive
problems (doc ran tests and couldn't find anything wrong), fatige,
hives and other allergy symptems that I never had before. (I'm 41
years old and never had allergies as a child) I don't use a lot of
chemicals but when I'm in my office, the cleaning solutions they use
bother me. At home we use organic products as much as possible. My
immune system has seemed to take a beating over the last few years.

Yes, this does seem to be a common set of symptoms, although as you've
noticed, if you go to a doctor he'll probably claim complete ignorance.
If you go to alternative health practitioners (naturopaths, chiropracters,
etc.), they'll probably have a better idea about the problem and its
solution, although you may find that the most success you'll find
in dealing with it are things that you've come up with on your
own (that was my experience, at least). The general "cure" to such
problems lies in detoxification, nutrition, and avoidance of things
harmful to you, although the devil is in the details. Some people
respond well simply by having their silver/mercury fillings removed --
and for others, well for some this makes no difference or even can
make things worse!

For me, I'm pretty convinced that my problem lies with some form
of heavy metal poisoning, although getting that stuff out of your
system safely can be a long and tricky process...

Re: ES and face burning rash

Ian Kemp
In reply to this post by wvucedtammy
This all sounds consistent. Ideally, one would find the underlying cause
and treat it, the trouble is that this seems to vary a lot between different
people. My wife Sue, for example, developed immune system problems after
heavy antibiotics treatment at age 39, having been previously healthy,
giving all the symptoms you report below, and finally (4 years later) ES. In
her case the basic problems seem to be "leaky gut syndrome", stress-related
cortisol, and faults in 2 specific liver detoxification mechanisms. With a
two-pronged attack of treating these problems and avoiding electrical fields
and chemicals, her condition has improved and she now "bounces back" faster
from any exposures.

Cellphones and computers are generally bad news for people who have become
ES, but if you can't avoid them in your job, Marc and lots of others in this
group have practical suggestions on devices for reducing the effects. Again,
though, different things work for different people.

I have a mouth full of fillings. Some are falling out. I probably
should start there. Calling the dentist first thing monday morning.
I'm currently trying to get rid of as many appliances in the house as
I can. First thing that went was the microwave oven!

Do you have any "holistic" or "mercury-free" dentists in your area?
Best to go to one of them... a "regular" dentist will try to convince
you that your fillings are harmless, and have nothing to do with
any health problems. A holistic dentist will be happy to do this,
and will take additional precautions to protect you from the
mercury vapor while the fillings are being removed.

Maybe the obvious staring point is to stop putting the cellphone up to
your head. Use it on speaker phone mode and/or use a hands-free if you
can't get rid of the phone altogether.

Re: ES and face burning rash - Mercury fillings removal

Ian Kemp
In reply to this post by Marc Martin
If you have any fillings removed which are not already falling out, please,
please ensure that you go to a dentist who gives you some sort of treatment
or "protocol" such as chelating agents, Vitamin C infusions or something
similar to allow your body to cope with the mercury vapour which will be
emitted while they are being drilled out. "Mercury-free" dentists should
always place an air dam in your mouth to prevent most of it getting down
your throat, but if only a tiny proportion gets past and is absorbed into
your bloodstream, it will make things much worse. Your body has to be
prepared to deal with it, and most protocols mean that you need to start
taking things well before the extraction.

We speak from bitter experience - Sue's fillings (just 4 small ones) were
removed by a mercury-free dentist using an air dam but with no chelation or
infusions. She suffered burning in her throat for 3 days afterwards, her
chemical sensitivity got worse immediately, and she then developed ES (which
she had never had before) a month later.

Basically, mercury in fillings dissolves extremely slowly in the mouth, and
gets into saliva which is swallowed. The tiny amount involves do not seem
to affect most people, but do give problems to those with MCS, ES and the
like. Now consider that when the filllings are drilled out, the heat
releases all the mercury in one go over a period of a few minutes rather
than several years, so the load is maybe 100 or 1000 times higher during
that time. It makes sense to be prepared....

Thanks for the advice. I will probably have to travel to find that
kind of dentist (I live in rural west virginia and good health care
is next to impossible.)

Thanks a lot! I work in Parkersburg and live about an hour away. Will
be calling Dr White's office in the morning.

Tammy.

I have a screen filter for my computer which blocks 99% of VLF (very
low frequency) and ELF (extremely low frequency) electric fields and
has helped reduce some of my symptoms and it only cost £15 (in
England) and is made by Kensington.

I think most people find that computers are by far the worst thing
and you may be either totally fine or a lot better around other
things although I am also finding radios to be a problem especially
digital ones. And try to avoid using anything like wireless broadband
and other similar things.

Maybe if you have something relatively long to read on the computer,
you could print it out and read it somewhere else to limit the time
you spend working on it. There are LCD projectors for computers you
can use instead of a monitor and one person who's story is on this
site http://electrosensitivity.org/ says it helped him alot.

Haven't been around much for awhile, just busy.

I found something perhaps useful for some, in explaining how some of
these things affect us, and maybe even worth printing off for your
doctor. If it doesn't convince him emfs can affect you, and be tested
for, I'd find another one.

Best wishes for better health.
