EMF's when using a radio vs. when playing a CD

I've been listening to a CD in a boombox for the past couple of days.  I can tolerate the EMF's.  However, today I've been playing the radio all day.  It is my imagination or are there more EMF's?

Modern radio receiver designs combine the received signal with an inter-modulation frequency (crystal oscillator) through a mixer circuit, then filtered via a crystal. The inter-modulation frequency is what you are noticing, as every receiver is a transmitter at that particular frequency.

Thanks.  Can you recommend a low EMF boombox?  

I would like to know that as well. I do not listen to radio, but love to play CDs and do not have the solar or the $$ for a stereo.
