Anyone else suffering with this? Like to the point of wearing sunglasses indoors all day and even in the evening?

Yep. For almost 20 years.
It was the first symptom I noticed. |
Really? What did you do about it?
I have been to eye doctor a few times. The first time they put me on Alrex a type of steroid to remove inflammation. That made my light sensitivity go away completely until I ran out of drops anyways. So it looks like the problem is something else since now the inflammation is completely gone and they say my eyes look fine except for a little dryness. Did you find anything that helped? I am trying a few different things as I really don’t want to go back on the drops as long time use can cause other problems... |

Are you in any sort of radiations?
The eye is a radiation detector by design and is 3 times as sensitive to rads as any other organ. It is completely rebuilt every 3 days apparently. The problem I have with my eyes is that if I go into MWs every thing goes kind of trippy bright and sort of white bright. I take it as a warning and get the hell out of there. Have you read about re-dedifferentiation? ref Electromagnetic Man |

I tried a lot of things before reading about ES a couple of years ago. Actually, the first memories I have of it were closer to 25 years ago.
I got no benefit from sleep masks. The first things I found that helped were: - "Indoor/outdoor" sunglasses that are very slightly mirrored. They helped more than I expected for how transparent they are. I wore Elvex SG-200 safety glasses (which have that coating and look like sunglasses) at my old job and I still wear them when biking. - Putting a wet washcloth over my eyes. (I found that accidentally when I came back once from a long bike ride and cleaned up and went to rest. The sun was shining into my window, so I grabbed a damp towel out of my hamper and put it over my eyes, which made a big difference. I wasn't sleeping well at the time, so it was to hard to ignore and I kept using it for years before reading about ES.) I think for me it's probably ES-related, but it sounds as though you're not sure if your sensitivity is. The damp cloth is easy to try and won't hurt anything, so that might narrow it down. |

I, too, am on the somewhat extreme side of light sensitivity. It became evident at a young age while growing up in sunny Florida. A few rooms in my house make me want a pair of sunglasses on sunny days. I usually wear those big plastic blue-light blocking glasses when watching TV or on the computer as my vision goes blurry quickly if I don't. I find those blue light-blocking glasses comfortable outside, but when removing them it takes a little while for the color vision to go back to normal after wearing them outdoors.

I don't know if all light sensitivities are the same.
In my case it happened everytime I had some active infection, a virus or babesiosis, for example. I guess you gotta tell us if you react to all lights, or only with fluorescent lights? Or economy lights? Or incandescent bulbs? Or sunlight? I think infections make you very reactive to sunlight, in my experience. My case was extreme: I would throw up after a few minutes under sunlight. Even in cloudy days, it was not easy. Once I could find which pathogen was causing that, and killed it, well, I did not have that problem back. ES-caused sensitivity happens more against fluorescent /light saving bulbs. Most people in the lyme forums feel like dying in places with fluorescent lights + wifi + loaded with cell phones. |
Interesting. I used to have some light sensitivity growing up. I have blue eyes, they say people with lighter eyes can be more prone to sensitivity. I haven’t had any real problems though until my emf sensitivity started though a few years ago.
I seem to be sensitive to all light, but mostly TVs or computer screens and sunlight. May naturopath said that my light sensitivity was connected with my kidneys somehow, not sure how that works. It seems to be getting better lately but I have to limit how much light. Sunlight seems to be the worst. I have been taking supplement for eyes and kidneys and eating lots of fruits and veggies. It does seem to come and go lately. Eye doctor recommended polarized lenses so that seems to line up with what yall are saying here with the reflective lenses so I should get some for outside. I use blue blocking glasses from time to time though I don’t notice much different unless they are very dark glasses as it seems its not just blue light I am having a problem with. An infection does seem to be possible. Hopefully it will go away for good! |

RE "I seem to be sensitive to all light, but mostly TVs or computer screens and sunlight."
Have you tried watching through conductive electrode tulle gauze fabric copper and nickel plated net https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/conductive-electrode-tulle-gauze-fabric-copper-and-nickel-plated-net-43-x39/272887587060?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 TVs don't just produce light but masses of radiation on other frequencies that comes out of the screen. Radio shite at longer wavelength. This will block it and you will not see the mesh when you watch. I use it. Its brill. Are you taking anti histamines? Try them too as they should help a lot. The eye is designed to be an antenna for radiations. Its just getting far more and different ones now than it was designed by evolution to handle. More than half the population have vision problems now. |
