Bloc bags/EMF sleeping bags?

betty A
Hi everyone, wondering if anyone has had any experience with these bags? Do they help? I have narrowed my search down to two. One is made of Swiss shield wear "Tested to provide 22dB attenuation up to 1.8 GHz" and the other is made from excel+voile ( 400 mhz-5600) * sates it protects from tetra to super wi max. As my physics is pretty rudimentary hoping some one can advise as to which would be the better choice. Also are there any implications from long term use?

thanks

Hi Ada/Betty - Could you post website links to the two different bags so that we might read more on their specifications?

I have read that some people do not do well with shielding materials which come in contact with the skin either from allergic reactions to the material or because of electrical discharge that builds up on the surface of the shielding material.

Hi I've just realised that after looking on the facebook page, so have decided to make a tent structure instead. I guess my question now is which is the best shielding fabric of the two i previously mentioned?. Any help/thoughts appreciated

Betty,

Something to consider is that Swiss Shield Wear is very tightly woven.  There won't be much airflow, and it will probably let less light through than some of the other fabrics.  Here is a link to a PDF file that compares many of the fabrics that are available:  http://www.yshield.com/pdf/YSHIELD-EN-ShieldingFabrics.pdf

I haven't used either of those two, so I can't comment on their shielding effectiveness.

Bloc bags/EMF sleeping bags?

Some Aaronia Shielding fabrics are very breathable and are highly transparent and provide some of the best high and low frequency shielding available.  Unfortunately, it is very expensive.

I know a lady who developed "lupus" after a wireless smart meter was placed on her home.  She was frequently incapacitated by pain, on prednisone and daily 'lupus' medications.  After going through this for a year, she began sleeping under an Aaronia Shielded bed canopy and within a few weeks threw away her 'lupus' meds and has never had a recurrence since in the two years since using it.

Re: Bloc bags/EMF sleeping bags?

I have one more question with regards to shielding fabrics. Having looked at James' PDF I understand that there are some fabrics that shield for  LF and so need to be grounded. Is this a better alternative as I have a problematic electric boiler in my room. if I just went with the ungrounded varieties, would they make the LF from the boiler worse inside the tent/canopy?. I intend to have a bottom ie put some fabric underneath the tent/canopy so as to make it completely sealed. Thanks for your thoughts/advice.

If you are considering sleeping inside a sleeping bag with any metal/conductive materials woven into its fabric (most shielding fabrics have at least some low % of copper/other) then you must not have ANY electric fields/current at night in your room or near your sleeping area, or those will conduct right into your body.

My guess is it would be smarter to shield on a wall in the direction of RF or build/buy a full faraday cage if necessary, reduce all electric fields in your room as much as possible (turning off circuit breaker is an absolute must), then work on reducing any body voltage in your body while sleeping (non-conductive bed frame/bed/sheets/nearby structures).  This is what I did and my body voltage is near 0 and sleep mostly RF/EMF free.
