 This morning we received an open letter from Cindy Sage, Principal of Sage
Associates, an environmental consulting firm based in Santa Barbara.  What
she reports below is very disturbing- that appliances are already being
fitted with transmitters to connect to the ‘smart’ grid via the ‘home area
network.’

 The problem here is that these decisions- to install smart meters, to have
your washing machine chatting behind your back with your utility through
the “Home Area Network” (HAN)- have all been made behind closed doors- at
exclusive resorts and conferences where utilities, regulators and appliance
manufacturers hatch ambitious schemes without any consultation with the people
whose lives will be affected by these technologies. We can catch a glimpse
of the arrogant mindset behind this truly stupid program from reading through
PG&E’s internal presentations on the SmartMeter program.

Moral of the story- beware when you buy any new appliances- they may come
with a nasty electromagnetic surprise inside.  Always ask before buying, and l
et them know you don’t want wireless!  Corporations should be even warier. 
As the hazards of wireless technology become well known throughout society-
hopefully this will hit these companies in their bottom line- about the
only thing they appear to pay any attention to.   Boycott the HAN!  Refuse
Smart Meters!  -SSM!

 This is a personal story.  We just purchased a new Bosch washer and dryer –
 for delivery next week.  Sam Milham happened to call this morning and said
the following:

 “I’ve just tested a home with an oven and dishwasher that had
continuously radiating RF from internal power transmitters”.  He could verify the RF
signal was continuous, and only stopped when he threw the circuit breakers for
those appliances (turned off the electricity to them).  He could say with
certainty the RF signal came from the appliances, because the signal was
strongest at the appliance and attenuated with distance.

 We have been told that these power transmitters will – in the future – be
placed on appliances to monitor and report their energy usage to a wireless
smart meter. Further, they should only be giving off RF pulses (the signal)
very infrequently.  According to Richard Tell, an electrical engineer
formerly with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) — in a 2008 report
on Smart Grids for Hydro One Networks, Inc./Toronto — antennas on appliances
may transmit at a density of .18watts, each at ballpark 4.5 seconds per
hour.  Well, these appliance power transmitters are, in at least some cases,
transmitting CONTINUOUSLY.  This puts them into a category more like wireless
routers and WI-FI.  No one is going to tolerate 12-15 such power transmitters
inside their homes that radiate full time.  These are appliances you come
into close contact with while you cook and move around your kitchen. 
Multiple, continuously transmitting RF sources are absolutely unacceptable to
people with EHS and some ADA people with medical implants.

 Bosch customer service confirmed that both the washer and dryer we have on
order contain power transmitters. They cannot be ‘deactivated’.  We
cancelled our order this morning.

I have known about this plot for a year.  I was told about this by the water meter man when I had to fight the smart meter installation.  (His take on it was, why be upset with one outside utility meter, when they are going to be everywhere and include transmitters in your home.)  I am sorry I didn't share this info--I thought this was already common knowledge among people who were fighting smart meter technology. 
 
When I went to buy a new washer for my mom a few months ago, I asked which washers and dryers had this new technology.  The sales guy looked at me like I had grown 3 heads, so nobody had yet informed him, I guess, either.  I opted for the washer which was still not energy star rated.  It seems okay.  The non-energy star rated appliances are getting very hard to come by.  Only 1 dishwasher and 2 washers / 4 stores I checked.  According to what I have read, the energy star rating means that the electric into the appliance is interrupted--1 second on, 1 second off--and that is what conserves the energy.  It is also likely that which makes the appliance so annoying to us--I believe I read that this leads to an aberrant frequency being produced.  Do I have this right?  Thanks for your input.
 
I am also writing because I told you I'd get back to you on whether my water smart meter produces bad frequencies inside the house, altho it is flowing thru plastic pipe.  Yes, it does appear to, at least, sometimes.  I just wrote another post, in which I mention emfs fluctuating thru the day from running the water.  If you could give me your thoughts on that, I would greatly appreciate it.  Here is the part I wrote which I would welcome comment on:
 
“An unusual thing, tho, is when my husband uses the water when he gets up in the morning early, I can feel emfs from it.  However, later in the day he can use the water and I will not feel emfs.  Also, when I wash dishes or shower, I do not feel emfs from it.  I don't quite know what to think of this phenomena.  The emfs don't bother me greatly--they sort of vibrate my body.  But I wonder if the increase in emfs early in the morning are from all the other people in our neighborhood using THEIR water during "rush hour", and their smart meters are somehow increasing the emfs in our water?”

Let me add:
Water smart meters do add not just radio frequency radiaton to the water supply, but also these frequencies piggyback on to the house's wiring. (*the NEC, National Electric Code, calls for water to be grounded WITH electrical supply at the service entrance- BAD IDEA!)
LIterally, this means current in the water supply. Look up: contact current, emf's and leukemia. Contact current is the term researchers use to describe current in the water supply.
My daughter cannot be anywhere near runnng water because of the current in our water. *For all those thinking, my god, what do you do? I do have a system that works well and enables her to shower, drink, ect......It is a long post, but I am willing to answer the "how" to anyone who asks.
Any house that is connected to the grid, think city water- will have current in the water supply. Add to this if the electrical is grounded or bonded to metal water pipes, (usually in the case of older homes with copper plumbing or boiler heat). Yeah, there has to be a way to disable it.  I wonder if all companies  
are installing this, or is it only the higher priced machines?

Regarding the question about why a househol'ds water might be problematical to a different degree to an ES person at different times of day, that is most likely due to changes in the level of dirty electricity running on the water pipes .  This flow on the pipes  can be getting there from household wiring, ground current in the area, connection to municipal water system ... or any combination of those sources.

As each home's wiring, plumbing, etc. are unique, each must be studied independently to determine such things.

In our home, the water in one shower is free of EMF if the circujit serving that bathroom is turned off.  The water in the other shower always hosts harmful frequencies, except when there is a power outage, as the incoming power main passes by pipes that carry current to it.  When i use that shower, I don't stand under the shower.  i collect water from the tap in a bucket then dip into the bucket (not with the water running into it.) and pour it over myself.

I would only buy an appliance with no digital display, timers,
etc.  You don't want the switch-mode transformer that you
can't unplug easily.

If you have one, you may want to flip the breaker off at night.
If it's a fridge, maybe put some ice in the main compartment
so it doesn't warm up too much.

On my stove I changed the wiring so that the oven control
circuit and timer only comes on when I turn on the oven light switch.
But it takes some know how to do this kind of thing safely.
