I've tried apple cider vinegar, but it merely made me feel
worse. Apple cider vinegar is supposed to deplete you of
iodine which will in turn makef you more hypothyroid, and
I think I was already iodine deicient / hypothyroid to
start with!

marc did you try it at a reduced dose ( ie less than the 2 tablespoons 3 times/day) and if so for how long?. Some of the stuff ive read says a few people have an initial reaction similar to a detox  which can be quite severe, but that this can be counteracted by baking soda and at a reduced dose . Im thinking  taking it because so many peole swear by it for fatigue symptoms. I  also recently tried the molasses that the group were  recently talking about and i have to say I felt so violently sick  that I had to leave the jar at the end of the garden , because even the sight of it thereafter  made me want to  throwup again ,  now even the word " molasses" reduces me to a nervous quiver . LOL ! - so i guess these things are a highly individual thing.

I can't remember the specifics, but I don't think I took more than one
tablespoon per day. Even with that, I was getting "goiter" (swollen
thyroid/throat) symptoms. And that was after a few days.

No detox symptoms, though...

I tried molasses as well... as I recall, it had such a high
sugar content that it was aggravating my "yeast" overgrowth
problems. Never got violently sick from it, though... just
decided that it wasn't the right solution for me.

Sometimes when I get an overdose of EMF my innerds
start convulsing - it's like Gastroesophageal reflux
gone berserk. At such times apple cider vinegar settles
things down.

apple cider vinegar is one of the few cures that have immediate effect on my wife. especially on the head. try it, just dont gag on the smell. does anyone know why my wife's eyes get red? ears seem to have a fluttering effect also. thanx, Mike (for Maria)

When I said vinegar works, I meant externally applied to the scalp. Try that! Mike

Yes, I've taken iodine-containing supplements for
years. I think this is definitely something to look
at, and may even provide a noticeable reduction in
electrical hypersensitivity symptoms. Between this
and improved thyroid function (feeling warmer
during the winter, more energy), it's certainly
worth a try. And potentially inexpensive.

With iodine, you must be careful with dosage, as too
much can certainly provoke detox (iodine
supplementation will mobilize stored mercury,
flouride, chlorine, and bromide, and potentially
make you feel terrible in the process).

The RDA for iodine is 0.150 mg (150mcg). However,
there are many who feel that an "optimal health"
intake of iodine is MUCH more than that, more
like 12 mg! Personally, I start getting unpleasant
detox symptoms at an intake above 1 mg, so
I keep my intake less than that.

A cheap way to get iodine is to buy dehydrated
seaweed, and sprinkle a bit into whatever happens
to be cooking. Or you buy one of a variety of
kelp tablets/capsules/salt subsitutes on the market.
Or you could take one a variety of thyroid support
supplements on the market which often contain iodine
(I've had good luck with professional products
"Thyro-Zyme" from Apex Energetics and "GF Thyroid"
from Systemic Formulas). Or if you want to
take high amounts of iodine, you could try
Magnescent Iodine, Prolamine Iodine, Lugol's
Solution, or Iodoral (all available online).
The latter 3 of those are too strong for me
to take on a daily basis, even when just
taking a quarter of a tablet.

Apples are supposed to help GERD (so I have heard) but wouldn't the vinegarcomponent (of the ACV ) make things worse ????

I dont know how ACV works but it is a treatment for acid reflux amongst other things , although some people cant tolerate it, its worth reading up on though  it seems to help a lot of people.

THanks for this Ada I will defintely check this out - it is dreadful at theminute and nothing that my doctors prescribe for me makes it any better - and the worst of it is is that I am fairly sure there is a link between it and the ES but I daren't even broach that with my regular GP - but this will be interesting.

Hi steph , try and forgo the honey if you can.

Most forums think  the weight loss is tempered if the honey is added. Also make sure its  an organic , unfiltered and unpasteurised version. The  preferred brand is Braggs but i cant find that in the uk. Aspalls from Holland and Barrett works well.

Thanks Ada - you must be telepathic - how did you know what I was just about to ask??!! I have just posted another query tho about something I read saying that ACV can make you iodine deficient - so maybe if i am going to tryit then I need to find something which ups my iodine levels to go along with it. Are you doing that  when you take the ACV?

There'ssa big debate raging between seaweed and luganol's I personallygo with japanese seaweed which i add to my steamed vegies. Hopefully that should do it, some say that seaweed has arsenic in it , but from what ive read ts in a form that isnt harmless to humans.

Apples are supposed to help GERD (so I have heard) but wouldn't the vinegarcomponent (of the ACV ) make things worse ????

Sometimes when I get an overdose of EMF my innerds
start convulsing - it's like Gastroesophageal reflux
gone berserk. At such times apple cider vinegar settles
things down.

There'ssa big debate raging between seaweed and luganol's I personallygo with japanese seaweed which i add to my steamed vegies. Hopefully that should do it, some say that seaweed has arsenic in it , but from what ive read ts in a form that isnt harmless to humans.

Hi steph , try and forgo the honey if you can.

Most forums think  the weight loss is tempered if the honey is added. Also make sure its  an organic , unfiltered and unpasteurised version. The  preferred brand is Braggs but i cant find that in the uk. Aspalls from Holland and Barrett works well.

whoa - imagine if it healed my reflux AND into the bargain I got an improved complexion and lost weight!!!

And anything which helps to alkanise the body must be good [protects against cancer] so maybe I have to get over the taste. Here goes!

I dont know how ACV works but it is a treatment for acid reflux amongst other things , although some people cant tolerate it, its worth reading up on though  it seems to help a lot of people.

Seaweed has the advantage that it has more minerals in it than just
iodine, so it may help with other mineral deficiencies that you may
not be aware of.

I assume you mean Lugol's solution? (a high-potency iodine/iodide
supplement)

lugols.. my mistake!. I always take seaweed any way , because its a good  and easy way to get iodine into the body. As to robbing peter.. i thinkthis is the  way of 21st century living .. !
