Anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral recommendations?

Marc Martin
Administrator
I don't know how common a problem this is with folks with ES, but I find
myself often in the need of taking an anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral
in order to keep from getting sick (e.g. colds & flus).  I *think* I've
tried most of the natural/alternative products on the market, but I'd
like to check and see what others here have had luck with, as I find
these sorts of products all have drawbacks.

Some things that I have on hand now or have used in the past:

  Agrisept-L (citrus seed extract)
  Echinacea Premium (from Medi-Herb)
  Oreganol (Oil of Oregano)
  Living Streams Liquid Probiotic
  Therasol Oral Irrigator solution
  LDM-100 (Lomatium Dissectum)
  Primal Defense (soil based probiotic)
  Colloidal Silver

Thanks!

Marc

For oral health I can recommend "blotting brushes"
from the Price Potenger foundation.  Get the instruction
book too.  Should be used with rinsing ("oral-breeze on Amazon)
and/or flossing, but is amazing for the gum line.

Have you tried Baking Soda? Google Mark Sircus and Baking Soda. His newsletter contains a wealth of information.
Take the time to read his information. And for those who want to try this inexpensive but safe treatment, 2 things:
If your body is very sensitive, start with low!  dose of 1/4 teaspoon of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda in 5 oz of filtered water.
I do not recommend using tap water. Research "contaminants found in tap water". Also, for those with well water, an interesting
read is to google the documentary called: Gasland. And yes, I have read the reviews who said the documentary was nonsense.
I have only one thing to say on that. Research the chemicals they use for hydrolic fracking and then see if you still think that documentary
is non sense.

I have found that NOTHING that Mark Sircus recommends works
for me... I obviously have something very different wrong
with me than he assumes is wrong with everybody.

When ever I am around people that are sick. I take oil of oregano. The last time I was sick with the flu or a cold was about 3 years ago. I got bronchitis, I had it for about 3 or 4 months. I started taking the oil of oregano and I got better really quick. I use it more in the winter. I have also given it to my dog that had giardia. The vet couldn't get her over it. I gave her oil of oregano and she hasn't had it again.
I wish it could cure the ES. I haven't tried any of the other things you mentioned.

hi marc
Thanks for recommending this forum

here is what i use
-samento from nutramedix. nutarmedix says its anti-vitrala and anti-bacterial, but a lady who was trying to sell me her crap said samneto is just an immune enhancer..in any event, i ahve had huge herxs from this; had to start at 1-2 drops a day

it is used as a lyme tretament as well as part of cowden protocol

i was using oil of oregano and GSE but since they are anti-bacterial, and i believe yeast-fungus is an issue with me, i have stopped these two as i do not want to kill the good bacteria with the bad

i also take inositol Hexaphosphate from NOW brand as this I eblive is primary ingedient ins ome transfer factor remedies..i would confirm this as i am having bad emf days along with lyme and mecury..so head is a sieve

and i believe infrared sauna kils bugs..i do 130-135 degrees for 20-25 minutes 5-6 times a week
--------------------------------------------------------------------for fungus-yeast i do a 3 step remedy

A) candex-Pure Essence Labs-this(cellulase) is supposed to eat yeast cell wals per studies

B) 200-40 billion CFu probiotics. I had to stop this (A-C)as i brought on an incredible herx and bug-heavy metal distribution especially over fill moon period. ie this is the part that you need to build good bacteria levels

C)caprylic acid-sustained release-Solaray brand. this is suppsoed to be as effective and safer than nystatin
--------------------------------------------------------------------
clear up gut toxins

Cholestyramine (per Richie Shoemaker protocol) and Bentonite Clay-Great Plains Bentonite Detox-32 fluid oz bottle,..sometimes this helps sometimes it does not; I guess just depnds on what toxins we have floating around

Michael

I think oil of oregano and GSE are both anti-bacterial and anti-fungal.
And I think that with most of these things, you need to be supporting
the good bacteria with pre/probiotics while killing off the bad.

yes, i agree and have used oil of oregano and at one pt could only take a drop and it would give me quite severe head symptomns
gse also works very well I hear

however after thinking about it, and again this is only one perspective, I believe in my case anyway, i have deficiency og good bacteria, due to being poverrun with yeast-fungus for many years. I have proved this by if I take more than 75 billion cfu probiotics i get the head symptoms, severe anxiety-head fog-etc

so for now i am trying to avoid anthing that kills both good and bad bacteria (ie oregano and GSE) as i already have wat I belive to be a very low good bacteria level.

to me its math equation being an accountant; if i have say 60-40% bad to good bacteria and oil of oregano/GSE kills equal amt of good and bad, then I am digging a deeper hole when i use these two supps

Oregano

Elizabeth thode

Just for clarity, you are both right. Oregano is both an anti-bacterial, and an anti-fungal. Oregano is also: anti-infectious, anti-parasitic, anti-septic, anti-viral, analgesic (pain reliever) and an immune stimulant. It is best to rotate when using herbs and other remedies. As another alternative to using Oregano, there are 2 forms of Melaleuca (known also as Tea Tree). Both of these forms are also strong anti-fungals and anti-bacterials. The first is: Melaleuca Alternifolia, (this one is safe for kids.) And the 2nd is: Melaleuca Quinquenervia or (Niaouli). It is best to take the anti-fungals agents in one part of the day, and then take the probiotics hours later, to help replenish gut flora.

Hi Marc,

I had a nasty toe infection which I cleared up using garlic oil and coconut oil (internally and topically).  In fact, those work for many other problems, as well.  I use these for fungal, bacterial, and viral infections and have read that none of these invaders can become resistant to coconut oil.

We recently had bronchitis  (I caught it from my husband.)  Hubby took cipro and I took those.  My bronchitis was completely better before hubby was done with his 8 day prescription!

I like to use zinc lozenges for when I come in contact with someone with a cold; also vit C.  These usually keep me from getting the cold.  I also sometimes use grapefruit seed extract and oregano oil for various problems.  Thymus extract helps if I am ill with the flu or cannot recover from a cold, etc.
