Hi,
I am new to the forum. My name is Mark. I suffer from a mild degree of EHS, when I speak on the phone I get a tingling feeling on my face and hands. The headaches occur after a few minutes. I searched on google for a solution. I read that an air tube radiation free headset can help, so I did a little research and got one from Smart&Safe I have to say that it actually helps. I do not have to hold the phone to my head so the tingling sensation stopped both head and cheek. I do not want to advertise anything because that usually gets people upset although I really recommend looking in to this. If it helps me it will help you. Mark |

Glad to hear the air tube headset worked for you, Mark.
For my MP3 player, I tried many different earbud/earphone options, including every "air tube" option available. I rejected all of the air tube options, because they caused me symptoms as well (just in the chest, where the speakers are, not in the head). Also the sound quality was bad. The "winner" of my trade study was a set of UrbanEars Medis: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00359FQLG/ I have very few symptoms from these... none if the volume is turned down low enough. And these can be used for MP3 players or cellphones. Marc |
marc, can you tell me how they work?

They don't get shoved far into the ear canal (like a lot of things these days), so you also have an awareness of what is going on around you (which is something I wanted, and I think I only tried earbuds that worked that way). But really, I was just looking for something that caused the least amount of ES headaches, pain, etc. And of the ones I tried, these won (and for me, were even better than the air tubes, which I think are falsely advertised as "radiation free") Also, here is a YouTube video that shows how these fit into the ears: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTF88Xu7HKo Marc |

Hi Marc,
try this link from their website - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdyfmA8yxlQ There is no metal conductor from the capsule to the ears and transmits acoustically sound through hollow tubes. I asked a doctor about radiation from the capsule, he said that radiation near the chest is substantially less dangerous that the ear canal and brain. |

Marc,
Forgot to mention that if the speaker is in the ear it will conduct radiation through the metal wiring. So I do not know how the headset you showed can block radiation., |

Still, I was getting immediate chest pains from using the air tubes. I get no pains at all from these airbuds. Marc |

So I do not know how the headset you > showed can block radiation., Well, I never said that it blocked radiation. I said that I got the least amount of symptoms from using them. I think it's pretty well known around here that there is a huge variation among products in causing symptoms that cannot be explained by simple theories of what is good and bad for you. For example, you can have one laptop computer that is intolerable while another seemingly similar laptop causes no symptoms. Yet, in theory, they are both laptops and should be the same. Marc |
