has anyone had any experience with Clear-Shield film from lessemf.com?  I am wondering how much it would affect visibility if placed on my computer display unit.  Quite expensive but maybe very worthwhile.

CLEAR-SHIELDTM Plastic Film
Transparent RF/Electric Field Shielding Film
Want shielding you can see through? At only 27 Ohms/sq, this highly conductive and flexible polyester film is Silver/Indium
sputter coated for great E-field and RF shielding. Nearly crystal-clear
(greater than 80% light transmission!) and only 5 mil thick, it is easy
to cut and tape into shapes to cover computer monitor screens, microwave oven windows, car windows, fax machines, cellular phones, TV remotes, alarm
clocks, LED displays, eyeglasses, face shields, fish tanks and hundreds
of other uses.

I *think* I have some of that stuff... just put it in front of my LCD monitor,
and it's a litter darker (as the plastic is slightly tinted), plus it causes
distracting reflections of the background (like if you had a glossy
screen instead of a matte screen).

But certainly everything on the LCD screen is still readable.

Can't comment on it's effectiveness though, as I actually haven't tried it for
that purpose.

Clear-shield & veilshield comparison

Haven't tried the clear-shield, but maybe a comparison of lessemf.com's
veilshield might help?  You can see what veilsheild looks like on this
page:  LessEMF.com fabrics <http://www.lessemf.com/fabric.html>

"VeilShield is a high performance mesh style shielding fabric designed
to be highly transparent. Combining high performance (40 dB or better),
ultra light weight, and flexibility. 70% light transmission. 0.1 Ohm/sq
resistivity. 58 inch wide."

I bought veilshield to cover the iMac which puts out a lot of RF.   Even
with only 70% light transmission, it's fine for us!    When the fabric
is pulled taught so there are no wrinkles, you can hardly tell anything
is on the screen.  And there is no glare.    People looking at the
screen are surprised when I tell them we have fabric over it.       So
if you are concerned about enough light getting through the clear-shield
which offers 80% light transmission,  you probably won't have a problem
because it lets 10% more light through than the veilshield.

I don't know if this will apply to your computer or not...  Since the
iMac put out so much RF, I found I had to cover the whole
computer/monitor unit with the fabric.    I can't remember the
percentage of reduction, but it definitely decreased the RF radiation,
according to how I felt and my RF meter.

And adding to the back of the iMac on top of the veilshield 1  thin
sheet of aluminum foil that you buy at the grocery store also
significantly reduced the RF radiating out from the iMac further.
Grounded the aluminum foil along with the veilshield. Can't use the
thick aluminum sheets because they can cause the computer to get hot.
